I am only posting this because of the pettiness of bec. My husband hasn't even had his surgery and were called for payment previously which no issue, wrote the check out for the amount told and went in to pay with the said amount and was informed it was plus 45 cents. If I didn't pay 45 cents my husband's surgery wasn't going to happen. Not once did the person wait on me say don't worry about it, we'll bill you or something to not embarrass or humiliate me over change. If it was $5 I would have understood more. i've been seeing these folks for 10 years--force od habit--not a good reason. This is a big practice--four or five docs in Pittsfield- and a bunch of techs. Not well organized or administered. My last visit I waited about 45 minutes--blamed the wait on Covid 19. Do you believe that; I don't. Today I called three times--nobody was there to answer the phone--finally got a call-back. I definitely would not go here and wish i had seen the other reviews before my appointment. On the examinations side, I was 10 minutes early and waited 30 minutes- then they told me I should have allowed for two hours- for an eye appointment that took 15 minutes? Thats crazy. Most importantly, during the exam the machine was cloudy, so i could not see anything well. When I mentioned this the tech wiped it off and blamed the breath from the mask- but i could tell it was in the device, it never got clear. I am now very uncomfortable with my results, I have no trust in these doctors. It's like an assembly line. Then, when I bought glasses, I was very specific that I did not want a reflection on zoom calls. When I got the glasses, I can see a full reflection on the lens. I made four calls, each time getting told it needed to go to someone else. I am now two hours away in Boston, and Justin the manager said i needed to go to an optician, have the lenses removed and then mail them back to Berkshire eye. So they can use them on someone else? They made the mistake, and I need to make trips to an optician and post office? How about I just go to Lenscrafters. I have been a patient for a considerable number of years. I really appreciated my doctor. However, Great Barrington's customer service is zilch! I just needed to drop off my prescription for reading glasses to get it filled. The customer service couple at the intake desk said that I would need to make an appointment to have this done. I heartily suggest that anyone needing a prescription filled to go elsewhere like I am going to do!!!!!! They must have a very tolerant customer base to provide this miserable service. read more

Get ready to wait I have been there twice and both times I waited over 45 minutes past my appointment. Then they call your name and you go into the exam room and wait in there. When the doctor finally came in, he did not offer an apology nor did he even acknowledge his lateness. I guess our time as patients doesn't mean anything. read more

I know the other reviewer On here said they had a month wait for an appointment. It was the opposite for me. I called, got an appointment for an eye exam two days later. Dr. Colbert was one of the nicest doctors I have ever dealt with. Not only that, the reception area was really nice and the staff is friendly as well. They are not pushy at all about purchasing glasses there if you have an exam. This is now my new go to place for Eyecare. They even did a free adjustment on a pair of glasses that I didn't even end up purchasing here. I was happy that I was able to give them some business by purchasing Rx sunglasses. read more

Unlike the other reviewers, I had an excellent experience at the Berkshire Eye Center as a new patient of Dr. Zygawski. Wait time was minimal, the staff was efficient and courteous, and Dr. Zygawski inspired confidence. I highly recommend this doctor and this location. read more

Filled with trust and excited about the new, classy and glossy Eye Center on Main in GB (where number of GB eye doctors, including my former eye center in the Shop Rite Plaza have moved) I had my eye exam done there, purchased an expensive progressive lenses together with a lovely expensive frames, but the prescription weren't right from the start. I did inform the person fitting me the glasses, that the pictures on the wall, right behind him, are fuzzy and that I never needed to get used the new prescription before, but eventually, I were persuaded to give it some time to get used to the new prescription. To make the long story short, I went back 3x, have been re-examined by a different person at each time, issued a new prescription at each time, but a year later, I still don't feel that the prescription is correct, but feel silly and counterproductive going back again. I didn't have a specific eye doctor going in and accepted the one provided to me on site (I'll not mention the doctor's name at this point) and my fault, I don't recall the names of the other people that have examined me through-out the process. I am not a complainer, haven't been diagnosed with any specific eye problem and I truly don't understand what went wrong there. I need a new prescription, but I'll never go back there again and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. This is only review that I have ever written, but spending nearly $700 for the eye-glasses, I expected better. read more
