Berkshire stands out among the local dispensaries, and while I don't make it a point to stop by every time I'm in Pittsfield--mainly due to their slightly steeper prices--it's got a huge parking lot which I love. They grow their plants right there behind the shop. It's pretty impressive, and I'm curious if they offer tours. I'd jump at the chance to peek behind the scenes and see how they bring everything from seed to shelf. There are 3 lines inside, Medical, Rec, and online. I don't do online since the lines are long anyways. So just note that there will be some wait time regardless of which option you choose. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I haven't been to a dispensary in MA yet that didn't give awesome customer service. They stock an array of top-notch products, and I've fallen hard for their Orange Chameleon strain. The first time I smoked it I was upset because I had only gotten one pre roll. It was the perfect companion for my hike, giving me an energy boost that actually shaved time off my walk! I've made a mental note to snag that strain the next time I'm back. And although an eighth of the OC is priced at $40, it's still a deal compared to the $50 mid grade eighths back in New York. The only product I wasn't too crazy about was the heavy metal blunts, that didn't quite hit the mark for me. The wrap was overly dry and delivered a harsh taste. Clean, accessible and well stocked dispensary. Painfully polite employees will answer all your questions, on the phone and in person. The online menu descriptions are very accurate and a careful review is advised before you buy. You will be carded on your way in. Security is tight but unobtrusive - so make sure to bring your ID. There are per person quantity limits so best to call in advance to insure your in person order will be filled and/or that your selection is in stock. Payment is cash or debit card -- in person only. If you pay by debit card there is a fee of $3.50 added to your purchase. Highly recommended! ;) Top Tip: Order online after 6pm any night and pick up your order the following day. Berkshire Roots is a efficiently run, convenient one stop pot shop. Their website offers adult recreational and adult medical menus which allow you to order online for pickup. The process is simple. You place your order, they text you when it is ready, you go and pick it up. When you arrive there is a person at the door who will ask for your ID, such as a passport, and ask if you are a pre order or walk in. I recommend pre ordering. Once you enter there is a line, brief wait, and then friendly staff will go over your order and accept payment of either cash or debit card only. The staff is friendly, informed, and makes sure you not only get what you ordered but that you are comfortable with how to use it from pre roll packs to concentrates and tinctures you will have a broad selection of product. Some of my favorite pre rolls are Vortex and Orange Chameleon. Both are Sativa not indica leaning, meaning they give a more euphoric and "artsy" feel. Vortex more cerebral orange more body and good for when you just want to enjoy some ben and Jerry's and listen to music at home. The entire experience for Berkshire is transactional and efficient which means from order to pickup you are processed quick and efficient in and out. This is great but it does result in less of a "experience". As in, this isn't the sort of store you walk around in, window shop in, and get a feel for. There is stuff on display but it is literally in display cases along your line. If you prefer to go into a place, listen to some Marley and mull over your options in a casual slow manner, this isn't your kind of place. The other thing I found is that brands are not consistently available. Sometimes they have Vortex and Orange sometimes another type or types. These two drawbacks are minor and over all I find that this location has a good selection and efficient process for providing you with the weed you need when you want it and with minimal interaction and time spent on site. read more

This place has never disappointed every time I come I'm always welcomed with open arms. What I really love about this place is the workers don't steal your weed after you purchased it. I went to my local dispensary in Milford Connecticut and I got 9 bottles of pot. Well let's just say when I got home and looked in the bag one bottle was missing pot in it 42 dollars later. That has never happened to me here all the weed is always a perfect amount in the bottles and gives me more of a better buzz than Connecticut weed if you want good quality pot come here because you won't be disappointed. Everyone in here is really nice too they actually care for the customer. The edibles here are simply the best Connecticut doesn't have edibles anymore only certain times. Why, at this point in the game, do they persist in selling unknown strains with low to middling potency? At this point in growth and development, cannabis should be at least 20 % THC. First, the good, because I suspect they're deserving of at least 3 stars but read on to find out why I selected 2. The selection of herb and edibles was wide and the staff was all very friendly, and perhaps on a less crowded day I would have enjoyed the laid back, unhurried manner. However.... I pre- ordered, specifically because I do not enjoy waiting in long lines. I arrived to find a fairly long line outside, and assumed that was for walk ins. But no! They had 2 lines, one for walk-ins and one for pre- orders. And neither one moved anywhere. The dude at the door did say that yesterday and today were strangely much more crowded than usual, so it's maybe not like this normally. But I was like, 5th in the pre order line and yet I had to stand there for nearly an hour outside, wondering why in the fuck the pre- order line would be taking so long. Turns out, it's that long because these ppl haven't a CLUE how to run the walk in versus pre order lines. As I said, I spent nearly an hour outside and when I got inside I found out that was only half the wait. There were like 50 people crammed inside! I also figured out in 2 mins what the problem was... which they should have figured out the day they opened. Although they did have both a walk in line and a pre- order line, they don't know how to move the pre order line! They bizarrely had the same cashiers, alternating between the two lines! So they'd call someone from the walk in line, then someone from the pre order line, then walk in, and so forth!!! Wtf!!!! Why on earth would I bother pre- ordering, if I'm gonna have to stand there waiting behind all those people who wanna get up there and ask a buncha questions and have every damn bud explained to them. Cripes, one of the dude cashiers stood there and spent twenty freaking minutes chatting with a couple who came in with 3600 questions and also wanted to talk music scene. Get. The. F#ck. EVERY OTHER DISPENSARY knows how to have 2 separate areas, with 2 separate bunches of cashiers, so walk-ins get to wait behind each other and those of us who ordered ahead get to get in and out in 5 minutes or less instead of TWO FREAKING HOURS. In other news, they screwed up my order. I specifically ordered the highest potency bud on their menu. According to their website, it was 30% THC. Of course they toss the herb into a bag they are mandated by law to staple shut before handing it to me, so I didn't see until I got home that the lab label on the jar says it's 25% THC. Which, I realize, is still a lotta THC, but I paid a premium for it specifically because it was so high. You can get 25% anywhere, and often for less than this. 30% is harder to find, and it matters to me. I would not have paid that much, and would likely not have chosen this dispensary over Hibrid around the corner or Canna Provisions over in Lee, except for the alleged 30% bud. Which they did not really even have. So I'm pretty bent with this place and will be unlikely to go back. But again, the staff people seemed nice, and I understand it isn't usually this crowded so this may have been an anomalous event. Also the ambience is nice there, other than the ridiculous snafu caused by their apparent inability to figure out how to work the pre- order line. Nobody who has pre- ordered should EVER be standing there waiting for Joe Tie-Dye and his friend Bill to ask 79 questions about every single strain and enquire what might help their whatever condition and then talk about the local music scene with the cashier. That's for the walk ins. CHA. And if you say 30% THC then it should be 30% THC. I think if you did want to ask a lot of questions and get advice about each strain, they would take good care of you. As long as you ask them to double check the THC and/or CBD at the register. But if you want that, maybe be mindful of how many other people are standing behind you, bc half of them pre- ordered and are getting pretty mad. ;-) read more

I can only speak for the chalice cbd which they claim has 10 percent THC in it and the wifi alien kush that is supposedly 13.8 percent THC. The chalice did nothing for a THC buzz but I did feel the CBD work. The wifi alien BUSH did nothing at all. I feel like this place is lying about the numbers. Either way they got me for a few cable bills but never again. Word of mouth goes a long way I'd advise sticking with what you know!! Relatively small menu but that is not the point of Berkshire Roots. Which dispensary you choose really depends on your needs and preferences, in this area. Berkshire Roots is unique among most of them around here. They keep a relatively small but consistent product line when it comes to their own products, which largely dominate the menu, along with a few other classics they have been carrying since the start. This place is a godsend if you use it for medical purposes, like I do(and recreational too). They are one of only two dispensaries in Berkshire County that carry high CBD strains consistently. The Chalace strain they grow themselves is a miracle worker on pain. I add some high THC sativa Kief to it for a little extra kick, for which they also have an excellent and consistent product line. Their other products are really good, including the concentrates. Not the best, but very good at a very fair price. In fact, versus most local dispensaries, I can't really cry about any of their prices for anything that I have purchased so far. Dispensaries like this are very useful for medical therapy or if you are somebody who likes to have consistent ingredients when mixing together a little cocktail for themselves. I went from almost never coming here and then I realized why this place was so good and I hardly go anywhere else anymore, except sometimes to find some unique concentrates. read more

Great strains, with a general consistency that allows me to depend on them for medical needs. Staff will do whatever possible to accommodate any patient needs. The 20% off $420 deal is available every day of the week, so that must be great for out-of-town people who can't visit regularly for the daily deals, which are great if you're local. Concentrate is quality & the best value in the county. Love that 1g vape carts were added. The new rewards reorganization doesn't motive me to be a 100% loyal and rack up points like it used to, and my disability discount is higher elsewhere. The superior consistency and quality of product is very much appreciated. OGKB is a Godsend for my PTSD and its sleep challenges, so it's a relief to see it on the menu most times. P.S. I have been there several times since they opened to adult use in April 2019. They have the best selection of products in Berkshire County ( as of April 2019). They have better ambiance than Temescal and better selection than Theory Wellness. All of the staff I have met so far have been polite, not horrid. I have hopes that this place will be around for a while and will get better as this industry normalizes. read more

I've been a patient since BR opened. I went Saturday expecting to have a long wait in line. I actually didn't - it probably took a couple of extra minutes. Given the circumstances of opening day for rec I had low expectations. Other than a short wait and a few items missing from the menu(which they assured me would be temporary) it was same old - friendly, knowledgeable staff and good medicine. I drove an hour out of my way to be turned away despite a preorder... again a lot of this inefficiency is thanks to the covid nonsense and consequent (and unfair) state intervention closing a lion's share of their business down. Efficient order and pick-up process but unnecessarily noisy atmosphere in sales room. I purchased an accessory item that came with no instructions. The telephone contact person was uninformed and could only offer a "I guess.." then put on hold with instructions to leave a message. I never received a return call.
