They handled my air conditioning needs with quick service and they were great!

Absolute worst AC company you could use. Insulted me over then phone after not doing the job I paid for and asking for more money to come back out and fix it. I started having a leak out of my ceiling air handler and my regular guy was out of town so I called the company that originally installed the units. Big mistake. I thought it was probably a clogged drain line but was unsure. Technician showed up late with no phone call. Seemed unsure and more interested in getting out as quickly. He said he thought he heard the clog get cleared out and started wrapping things up asap without checking. Handed me a bill for $290, insane for what he did but I was to tired to argue it. they charged $75 to put "viper spray treatment in the line" Google that product yourself and you'll see a bottle costs $25 for a quart. First sign this company is a scummy. Not 30 minutes after he left it started leaking our of the ceiling again. I could see water overflowing from the drain pan just like before I called so nothing was fixed. I called them the next day as it was after hours when it started leaking again and was told no one can come out today and since it was a Friday they would have to charge me extra to send someone out to fix what they never fixed. I told them that's unfair since they didn't fix it and we've spent plenty of money with them. The man I was speaking with then decided to get indignant with me and say we are not good customers and we should be thankful we came out at all because there was an outstanding debt($75). My father and I share an account as I help him out with things so somehow this must have fallen through the cracks. He never informed me of this before I they sent someone out and I would have absolutely paid it before anyone came out. I told him I can't afford to pay them over $600 in a few days for a problem they didn't fix (initial cost plus what they wanted to charge me to come back out) He then insulted me more and just hung up on me. I decided to do the best I could and minimize the leak and damage until my regular guy was in town. He came and within 30 seconds he informed me my drain pan had rusted off and was tilted so when the drain was clogged (which it still was after Berkun came out) it started leaking out the ceiling. He did a great job propping it up so it wouldn't leak until I got a new unit. I recently had a new ac system put in by Cool Bear and they showed me all the things they did wrong and why things got so bad. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Let me preface this by saying I am a courteous and considerate driver. So I am on my way to work on my morning commute my exit is coming up so I turn on my blinker to get in the exit lane. My blinker is on for at least 20 seconds to get over. This white VW Touareg essentially deliberately tries to block me from exiting by pacing and not letting up on the throttle. I'm forced to squeeze in front of this inconsiderate driver (I hate doing that) and give a friendly five fingered wave (I practice gratitude even if it's for nothing). This motorist darts around and decides he 'needs' to be in front of me I let him in and low and behold what do I see? A rear windscreen graphic with berkun-air. They sent an incompetent tech, and charged us a lot of money for basically doing nothing. Dispatcher had a real bad attitude. Avoid this company. Also their truck look like they haven't been painted in 20 years. read more

It finally happened. Our air conditioner failed outright. The sad thing is that it wasn't that old. I saw an ad for air conditioning service, and called them. They came, and went outside, and came back in under 10 minutes, and said that I would need a new system, saying that the compressor had fried, whatever that means. He gave me a quote for a new unit, and I was floored, even though he said he was throwing in a 25% discount. Not expecting to have to buy a new air conditioner so soon, I decided to get a second opinion from a referral of a friend, which was Berkun Air. They came over, and I told the representative what had happened, and the guy went out side, and roughly 20 minutes later, he asked me to turn the unit on, saying that it was nothing more than a relay that needed to be replaced. I was tickled pink. He told me that the unit was fine, and should last me many more years into the future if I maintained the system. Boy oh boy, did Berkun save me a bundle or what. I felt lucky to have been refer by a friend to this company. It would have been easy for them to say that the unit needed to be replaced. How would I know. As someone who never had to call an a/c company before, I was totally lost when I had to call one for the first time. I got Berkun Air's number from a friend who has previously used them. I was completely happy with their service. From the minute I called their office, till the a/c was up and running they were nice and very honest. They came out the same day I called and the person on the phone was very sweet. The serviceman that came out was very professional and helpful. I didnt have a big repair and in the future I will definately call them again. read more
