This is a great place. Very cozy and the staff is extreamly attentive and knowledgable. My girl and i love the valentine it is a sweet red but there is a bunch to choose from. The port is amazing also great for the coming holiday season i always get at least a bottle or 2. I do recommend giving them a try. read more

My husband and I attended a dinner benefiting a Wolf Foundation in Plantersville. The food and wine was wonderful but what was even better was the people. Kevin Black performed, it was very small and intimate. The owners are such friendly and real people. During the Summer and Spring time they do concerts on the lawn. It's a beautiful, relaxing place. Agreed with all the above and more! My husband and I were looking for a great fun place to road trip on holiday weekend but w/o going to downtown Houston (yuch! :-) Decided to head north a bit. Montgomery itself was beautiful. I researched Bernhardt Winery a bit while googling other winery list around Montgomery. Their website alone looked well orgainized and sold me. When we got there just the friendliest owners!!!!! Tried several wines, lots of neat other food items for sale INCLUDING gluten free snack chips were there for purchased items. Which I was just diagnosed with last week so great to know. Wine tasting was so fun and not rushed at all. We did the simple 6 wine tastings. But if known about it sooner would have loved to stay there overnight more. Ended up getting surprisingly all red wines! I am mostly white wine lover but Pinot was great however was loving the others much more. Ended up with: Merlot (for my husbands taste, great dry wine!) and Aggie Blush and Valentine were awesome and purchased those to. Indeed best kept secret a must go even fun day outing or to get at least a great bottle or two of wine! With moving out of state in 3 months, only regret I have was not finding this or any other wineries around Montgomery/Plantersville sooner! read more

I would be willing to bet that most of you didn't even KNOW this little gem even existed! I surely did NOT. When a group suggested we head north about an hour, I thought why not? After a nice little road trip in which I was able to spot some GORGEOUS bluebonnets, and Indian paintbrushes, we found the Bernhardt winery in Plantersville. It is small, and run by two retired school teachers from Conroe. For the UNVBELIEVABLE price of $5 we were able to taste about 5 or 6 different wines. Now, I am nowhere NEAR a wine specialist, but I do know what I like and do not like, and I was happy. The Valentine and Sarah were my favorite, but with summer, I ended up buying an excellent Pino and chardonnay. The prices of wine are anywhere from $16-$60, and the place itself is very serene and quiet. Starting in April they have summer concerts which I may make the drive to go check out. It's nice that there is a place like this near Houston where you can enjoy some great wine, and sit back and enjoy the scenery. read more

After attending the Almost Gone Concert U have to say that the speech before the concert about not talking during concert or else police would come up take your wine away. Brought it was inappropriate but went with it. Then first song our friends said that o each other that a group of 20 women dancing were the golden girls. Said they wished they were like that when the get older. The the jam I. Front of the stood up and glared at them and told wife he would take care of ur. Next thing we knew the police was there. Asking them to not say am thing else. They needed to leave and if they wanted later they could return. There is no words to say how we felt. We are all professionals and not some drunk thugs. Rude people! Went to attend the Eagles Tribute concert and the owner gave a speech about no talking or he would have the cops come over and ask you to leave! The first song came on and my friend and I were commenting on this group of ladies having fun and the man in front of us went to the owner who sent a cop over to ask us to leave or not talk and said the owner has asked we take our conversation outside! We purchased 20 tickets and will never go back. read more

I was extremely disappointed in how a situation was handled. Between my friends and I, we bought 9 tickets under the names Said and Kaltwasser for tonight's Already Gone show. Jerry made a big presentation before the show tonight about "no talking". The older people on row H got up to go tell Jerry that 3 of my friends were talking loudly, he announced that he was going to do so (they were absolutely no louder than everyone else there). Instead of coming to talk to them or sending a staff member over, he sent the police officer working security over who warned them to go outside because the guy in front said they were speaking inappropriately. The officer was very nice and just doing his job. We have been coming here for years and this experience was absolutely embarrassing. I'm not sure we will be back after this. The treatment we received was very surprising, we spent the rest of the concert outside and left at the half way mark. I'd like to add that the man, his wife, and another couple who complained also left at the halfway mark and didn't even purchase a single thing other than 1 bottle of water. When his friend looked to see The empty seats behind him, he high 5'd The guy. The saddest part is that I have always had a wonderful experience there and our family is part of a music festival there every October. I am just so embarrassed by our treatment. read more

Not recommended for a wedding! This winery is beautiful and the ceremony officiated by Gerry was awesome but the staff was horrible. We attended a wedding and I was told that I looked suspicious because I was drinking Sprite out of a red solo cup. I was actually a designated driver and was not drinking any alcohol at all. I had to pour my Sprite into my wine glass in front of him. Liquor is not allowed at this venue due to a licensing issue but that was never explained up front to the bride and groom (who had purchased liquor and were explained that these rules existed the day before their wedding). The bride's father brought a small cooler into the groomsmen's loft with unopened/sealed Scotch as a present to the groom - which remained unopened throughout the event). One of the staff members went into the loft without letting anyone know and took the cooler and Scotch without asking, claiming that it had been "confiscated." In the great State of Texas, this is called theft. This same staff member harassed me and other guests throughout the evening. He was hovering over me all night and made me feel very uncomfortable. The bride and groom bought a bunch of liquor and hired a bartender to serve their guests but were told the day of the Rehearsal that they weren't allowed to serve it. They basically hired a licensed bartender to open cans of beer to serve their guests. The bride and groom purchased custom wine glasses that were placed on each table. The groom specifically asked the wedding planner (who came with the venue) to place a bottle of wine on every table and she told him "No" during the wedding reception! Who tells the groom no especially when it comes to placing wine on tables at a VINEYARD???? All of the purchased wine glasses were EMPTY at a VINEYARD! There were huge yellow jacket & wasp nests swarming around the groom's loft room and below (hundreds of them). When I asked the lady to spray she said, "some days there are bees and some days there aren't". My question is: If you know you are having a wedding wouldn't you check the property prior to the wedding? I highly recommend looking elsewhere when thinking of holding your wedding reception here. The bride and groom were extremely easy going, wonderful people but were taken advantage of by this venue. Beautiful property but would not recommend for a wedding. read more

Bernhardt was beyond beautiful!!! The service was excellent and the wine was too. We are both red fans but ended up buying a bottle of Pinnelli to drink there and two bottles to bring home. We are definitely going to check out the summer concert series once it starts up. We'll be back even without coming to the concerts. We both really loved it! read more

I attended my cousins wedding at this winery, everything was beautiful and I was having a great time. After the ceremony we were all called for wine and appetizers as I walked up I was asked for my ID I explained I did not bring it nor my purse to the wedding, I told them everyone here knew I was of age I just did not have my ID. They still denied me. I was upset at the fact my family paid so much money for a wedding including their wine and I was unable to drink any of it. I had my aunt get me a glass again because I AM of age. And during dinner a man came and asked for my ID, I explained the situation he continued to take my drink. I found the whole thing very disrespectful, the way they handled the situation was rude and uncalled for. They should add 'bring your ID' to the pamphlet next time. Very rude. read more

This was my boyfriend's first outing out since his bone marrow transplant in February. We absolutely loved this winery. We did the wine trail of 7 wineries and this was our favorite for the place, people and wine. We already are in the process of planning another trip to stay at the B & B and looking that this as a possible wedding venue in our future. Mrs Jerri was wonderful and sweet gem. Had a girls weekend for my Birthday and we went to Bernhardt to do a wine tasting. Three of us had been there before and couldn't wait to take our other friend. We paid to do 4 tastings. We were told that there was not any available tables at the moment but to hang out in the lobby and that they would come and get us......... well 45 minutes later we are still sitting there and watching as they are taking other people back. When finally enough was enough we go back to the counter to ask for a refund and the employee that had originally checked us out tried to spin it that it was OUR FAULT that we didn't come back up and remind them. Last time I checked I wasn't the one being paid to do a job. I was paying you to give me a service. She then told us they were ready for our tasting we said no we would just like our money back. She then said well let me give you a glass of wine on the house we said no thank you we just want our money back. At that point after sitting there for 45 minutes we just wanted to go. Had she not tried to spin it that it was our fault maybe things would have been different but don't try and make the customers out as the ones to blame. read more
