Berrien County Youth Fair is located at the fairgrounds in Berrien Springs, Michigan. I go to this fair almost every year and was extremely ecstatic to come back this year. I'm not a ride person at fairs but if I was my 2 favorite rides were there if I chose to (swinging ship and the fair swings that launch you in a circle). We mostly went to look at the purchasable items, food, and animals. For food we got fried apple, fried peanut butter and steak with potatoes, onion and mushrooms. We also got lemonade because a fair isn't complete without lemonade in my opinion. Everything about this fair is nostalgic for me because I have been coming to this fair since I was about 6. I am so grateful to be able to come back year after year. Thank you BCYF for allowing me to create new memories while cherishing all the past memories. See y'all next year. read more

Looking better this year than ever looked. Lots of barns, lots of horses, lots of goats cows, kids and food. And too many affair in my life. This would be tall and takes the cake. Still a good clean operation with lots of win, place, show. read more

BCYF - Aaaah, the memories! So much fun strolling through all of the barns, meeting old friends, munching fair food.

Well I grew up next to this Fairground as a child I'm now 60 years old I took my grandkids there I haven't been there in many many years. The rides were not even up and running on the first day of the fair that was a ridiculous disappointment. And yes all the food and drinks are extremely overpriced $6 for lemonade $6 for an ice cream cone. The four of us paid $60 for lunch for a dry sandwich . And the lines for the rides the next day were extremely long and they started shortening the rides to get more people on but then it wasn't worth waiting in the line. They have $30 all you can ride day or you can pay $45 to skip the line and the people skipping the line were making the regular line go even more slowly. But the number one horrible thing that has to be addressed. The shuttles to and from the back parking lot and were running but carrying no passengers and we're not showing up to the parking lot to pick up people, I saw them randomly driving around up and down the road with no one in the seats but they never went to the parking lots to pick people up or to take people back to the parking lots they were completely useless they would just drive around with their friend they were talking to. And all the so-called VIPs with their golf carts, with their ATVs and even the police cars and the garbage truck driving into the crowds of people pushing them off the road. It was hard to get around in the place because of the idiots allowed to drive motorized vehicles into the crowds of people! This is dangerous and so freaking not necessary they're not hauling any equipment they're not hauling any supplies they're just driving around there's bathrooms everywhere where are they going that they think they need a golf cart or an ATV and why don't they stay off the dang sidewalk which is actually a road yes but it's the sidewalk during the fair you've got 10,000 people walking around and you're pushing a motorized vehicle right into the crowd of people with little children. This is nonsense and should be addressed by the committee. read more

If you, your friends and/or family want "good/clean/honest" fun, then plan on getting HERE early and spending the entire day! I moved to Berrien County over 17 years ago and would hear EVERYONE talking about "going to the Youth Fair" but I blew it off, for no reason whatsoever. I guess it took a group of "very cool and hip" teenagers talking excitedly about attending it while I was at the check out lane at Harding's, to go and give it a go. That was 5 years ago and...well, let's just say that it's on my laptop e-calendar to attend yearly. From the animal barns where you can see every kind of chicken, guinea pig and calf to the fantastic CORN DOGS, slathered in mustard and washed down with a foaming root beer, to the motor cross races and concerts, this is truly a fantastic piece of Americana that shouldn't be missed. There are flush bathrooms a-plenty, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and we've never been there when the crowds are anything less than pleasant. Each year we try to experience new things, from watching the horses being judged and exercised to the judging of flowers in the horticultural area. The Midway is also fun to visit and see how it changes from a daytime viewing to the night, when it's lit up like Vegas. And, an unexpected bit of fun that my family and I had last year was to visit and view the interior of more travel trailers than you can shake a stick at! All in all, you'd have to be a hard-hearted individual to NOT find something of interest to you and your friends if you visit this charming fair. :D read more

The child in me looks forward to this time every year! I believe it's mostly because I enjoy bringing my own children to the fair!

I've been there few times and I don't find anything fun around there. Not many interesting stuff there. I've been to Pima County Fairground and trust me on this one: it's better than Berrien County Fairground. They have interesting food vendors and you are allowed to drink alcohol on this ground! All I smelled is elephant ears, cotton candy and popcorn. Not very good food vendors in Berrien County Fairground. read more

If you are in southwest MI during the fair in August, make sure you check it out at least once. There is so much to do. My kids have enjoyed the free circus on Wednesdays, the Friday night rodeo, and Demolition Derby, and of course all of the farm animals on display in the big barns. There is so much carney food, you have to come twice in order to try everything. There is one vendor in particular though...It is a steak and potatoes stand that sells a cut up piece of perfectly cooked steak, mixed with homemade mashed potatoes, onions, and mushrooms all in a paper boat. I leave here in Berrien County this fair was not up to par this year. On kids day Tuesday two of the kids rides was down. They did not get fix. So my granddaughter had to keep riding the same 4 rides over an over. I think it was a waste of a wist band if you can't enjoy all the rides for her age. Out of all days the rides broke on kids day. read more
