Rather than helping me find a solution, the manager was dismissive and argumentative from the start. She initially insisted that an option existed in the app when it did not. After several minutes, she confirmed that I was correct, yet still offered no practical solution. I was already paying extra for my request. I repeatedly asked how I could pay more for what I was requesting and comply with store policies. Instead of receiving clear guidance, I was told employees could get in trouble for providing too much of an item, but no alternative was offered. I was eventually instructed to call the store when placing orders so the request could be noted. I followed those instructions. When the issue continued, I called again and was met with the same dismissive attitude. Now the store appears to avoid the issue altogether by refusing to answer the phone. What concerns me is not the item itself. It is the complete lack of customer service. A daily customer brought a reasonable concern to management, attempted multiple times to resolve it respectfully, and repeatedly asked how to pay for and receive a consistent order. At every step, the response was defensive, unhelpful, or simply nonexistent. To be fair, this review is not directed at the staff as a whole. Most employees have always been pleasant and never seemed to view my request as unreasonable. The issue appears to be with management's attitude and unwillingness to work toward a solution, despite multiple opportunities to do so. Mistakes happen in any business. What distinguishes a well-managed location is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, my experience with management at this location has demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and little interest in resolving customer concerns. After the amount of business I have given this store, I expected far better treatment. To put this into perspective: I was asking for a side of peanut butter the size of a small condiment cup.

We had a great experience here! We got here at around 2:15pm to kick off our day at the beach. Even…read morethough the The Food Shack closes at 2:00pm, the server behind the counter was very gracious and still took our order (and the orders of some people behind us) without complaining. We were really impressed by the location. The Food shack is located right on the beach which is the perfect way to enjoy a lunch on a Summer day in Point Pleasant. They have lots of umbrellaed outdoor seating, and some benches in the sun, so there are options for everyone. They also have some indoor seating, and the inside is adorable. We ordered a swiss grilled cheese with tomato on top, and a BLT. Each item came with pickles and a bag of chips. Each item was priced reasonably, especially considering typical Jersey Shore pricing. My grilled cheese was great. The bread/cheese/tomato ratio was perfect. The cheese was gooey, and stayed gooey even as the sandwich cooled. The bread on the grilled cheese was crispy on the outside and still soft and warm on the inside. I didn't know what to expect from a small shack on the beach, especially with something as simple as a grilled cheese, but I really enjoyed it. The BLT also had a gread tomato/bacon/lettuce/mayo ratio and wasn't too greasy. Overall I will definitely be coming back!
