Was looking everywhere that sell whole fried catfish and Moss Creek have them. Simple menu of catfish, shrimp, there are burgers if you want that too. Option of all you can eat platter, unless you are a NFL player there is no way you need the all you can eat option. I saw so many leftovers from other tables . Service is quick. Everything is fresh. Cooking oil they use doesnt seems to be old because food is golden color instead of dark brown and burnt like fast food places. Catfish need more seasoning. Might be kinda bland but they do provide a bottle of tartar sauce for you. Also they have "come back" sauce for other items to dip in. I love hush puppies and I like theirs. Crunchy on the outside and sweet and soft on the inside. They use sweet cornbread which I like . Sides are pretty standard. Good place to eat overall.

Pretty nice, no frills restaurant. Was excited to see thin catfish fillets on the menu since that is my favorite preparation style! Server was nice and attentive. Food arrived quickly. The catfish was nicely seasoned and breaded. Everything we ate was delicious and well seasoned. My son loved the chicken tenders and commented on how juicy they were.

We were greeted and seated right a way as the place was just opening for the day. It was an open floor plan and tables spaced enough to where you don't feel crowded. The fish was fried perfectly as well as the shrimp. Great flavor. The oysters and okra was over fried and tough. Everything else was good. We felt like our server was trying to rush us out of there with comments like, I'm gonna bring you a box because you seem to be slowing down. Here's the check. We only had two choices for dessert and the one we picked. They were out of it and hadn't been open but an hour. Was not impressed.

They want you to Pay a Tip on taxes also. Do the math

When I received my bill, their tip calculation included a tip on taxes! It's very misleading to the customer.. When, I tried explaining it to the waitress. She just kept telling me it's not in the bill it's just a suggestion.. She could not understand that it's misleading to add a tip on the taxes also.. She finally took the ticket and tore the bottom part off and handed me the top portion with just the bill amount.. She wasn't getting it.. At the register, I again explained it was misleading to the customer.. They needed to fix their computer system to not add a tip on taxes due.. She repeated that it was not added to the bill and was just a suggestion.. She told me " to have a Blessed Day ". I know what she meant with the attitude and tone.. Well, guess what? "With all due respect". I left a zero tip and won't be back..

Moss Creek Fish House is a great place to head if you are in the mood for some fried seafood and you are anywhere around either Jackson, Mississippi or Pearl, Mississippi. Really anywhere around the area. I had catfish and oysters and it was definitely a good meal and for what it was, I feel that it was competitively priced. I had a client recommend the catfish here and it definitely did not disappoint. Service was good and while there was nothing fancy about this restaurant, it kind of captured the Mississippi fried seafood restaurant vibe. A casual but pleasant experience. Again, the food was good, as was the service and the ambiance just added to the overall experience. All in all, I will give Moss Creek Fish House an overall score of four stars. I woukd definitely recommend here.

I've been craving for AYCE whole catfish that's not buffet style, but freshly fried to order. Only a small handful of places that does this, we've never here so decided to try. We both got the AYCE catfish, you can choose between filet or whole (doesn't include grilled), and they had several sides that you can choose from, that's also ayce. He got the filets, I got the whole. They brought out half a platter of filets, and 3 whole catfish! It was piping hot, but not greasy at all. I love cornmeal breading, it's light, but crunchy, the fish were nicely seasoned, and meaty, it hit the spot! These filets were very comparable to Mama Hamils strips when they used to do strips, the last time we were there, they were more like nuggets. Super white catfish, lightly battered, crispy, and fluffy on the outside, so good! My whole fish was fried hard, but the inside still moist and flaky. Service was good also. Next time I'll probably ask for 1 or 2 whole catfish sent at a time instead of all 3. Once I made it to my 3rd filet it wasn't piping hot anymore. I love my food on the verge of burning my mouth Included menu in the comments for yall.

Too bad the second was smaller than the first. Lost a star here people. Waitress did not know anything about the Gumbos so no advice there. Po Boy was delivered deconstructed which was interesting. 4 large shrimp dressed with maters and lettuce, mayo missing. Would liked to have had seasoned shrimp but thats a preference. Gumbo was goodish at best. Needed a bit more rice and some Cajun seasonings. Not sure about the waitstaff here though. Greeter was too busy in the tablet to know I was here but made her way to finally get me a table. Waitress was locked to the cross body purse and didn't offer any help on the menu choices. Finished off the meal with a Butter Coffee cake togo. All being said I think a 3.75 star is acceptable for what I got.

A couple folks had eaten here previous, but for the rest of us this was our first time. You're primarily looking at a seafood centric restaurant. I guess that's pretty obvious by the name. We kicked off the meal with.fried crab claws. Not wanting fried we went with broiled. We did end up getting fried in one of the meals and having tried both definitely go with the broiled. A few slices of toasted bread also joined this appetizer. Perfect dip the Orleans sauce into. Tasty, meaty fairly good size, and soaking in their famous Orleans sauce was an absolute appetizer kickoff. This is gulf blue crab and gulf shrimp residing in their Orleans sauce. I think you could eat just these and be perfectly fine. A little bit of a kick of spice but not overpowering just flat out spot on. One entrée that came highly recommended was the red fish Orleans. Outstanding! Blackened red fish topped with Orleans sauce and shrimp. Only got four shrimp but collectively the meal was outstandingly fresh and filling. The Orleans sauce once again was the perfect topper. Add a topping of Parmesan cheese. My entrée came with a choice of sides. It was suggested I tried the gumbo so I did. Again, fantastic!

Overall 3.75 Stars…read more After an all day conference in Jackson, we wanted to get some food and this restaurant popped up in my feed to try in Richland. Having only 30 reviews and all 5 stars, I was curious on why that was the case. Located in a building with another restaurant and nail salon, the building itself was just a normal tan building. Nothing special, however when you walked in, you were transported to the southern hemisphere of Thailand where the warm ocean breeze sway your worries away. Boy, I sound like a song. Ambiance : 4 Stars - there are enough seating at each table to accommodate 4-8 people - Bench or Table style. Decor had Thailand pictures, plants, and etc. Service - 5 Stars our only server was very pleasant, easy to talk to, efficient, and very alert to make sure your drink was full or remove your empty dishes away. My wife and I enjoyed Thai food and we had questions because some of the dishes were slightly different than what we were use too. He answered all of our questions. Food: 3.25 - 3.75 Stars The food itself was good but not great because the seasoning was very light for Thailand food. Our server said they wanted the people to enhance their meal by adding other flavors to the dish. The answer was a SAFE answer. Authentic food should have the flavors of that region. I say, " be bold and confident in your dish". If the people don't like it, they can order something else. Of course I didn't say that to the server or Auntie who prepared our meals because I didn't want to get stuck in the kitchen cleaning dirty pots and pans. Hahah! With that note, upon our request, our server did bring out chili oil, chili red pepper and crush, dry Thai peppers. and Nuoc Mam (Vietnamese Fish Sauce) so we may "doctored" our dishes. We ordered the following. Appetizers Chicken Larb - 3.75 Stars. The chicken was finely diced and sautéed with onions and had some Thai seasoning. It was served with a healthy portion of green leaf lettuce and whole salted cashews. It was good and flavorful but as good as Beef Larb. NOTE: BEEF LARB is not on the menu which is a bummer because it is a staple Thai food. Maybe they don't have it because the price of beef has gone up tremendously. Also, they don't have Beef Crying Tiger too. Bummer Thai Chicken Skewers- 3.25 Stars The chicken was coated with a yellow curry and possible coconut milk than pan fried in oil. It was served with a yummy peanut sauce. It was ok. The chicken was a little dry when biting into it and the yellow curry flavor was mild. I wish it was grilled and had some tamarind and fish sauce on it too. Main Dishes: Pad Thai - with chicken 3.5 Stars it was large portion. My wife definitely had left overs. She said it was good but was missing the tamarind sauce, citric acid and palm sugar. We don't like it sweet but the palm sugar brings out the other flavors of the dish. Now, after she "doctored" it, she really enjoyed her dish. Red Curry Pan Seared Salmon w veggies and rice - 3.5 Stars. I had mixed feeling with this dish. The pan seared Salmon was perfectly cooked, seasoned well and has a crusty seared on it. It was layered on top of steamed veggies in a red curry sauce. I was disappointed with the red curry sauce and the steamed veggies. It lacked flavor. Also, I thought the dish was going to be served in bowl with "stewed veggies" but it wasn't. Each item were layered separately. Steamed veggies on the plate, covered with the red curry sauce then finally layered with the seared salmon. Rice was served in a separate bowl. My expectations were not met when I saw the dish. Also, the red curry sauce was bland but after I added Thai seasoning, fish sauce, lime wedge, and chili oil it was better. So, do I recommend this place? The answer is "Yes". The server and auntie are pleasant and their southern regional Thai food are good. The atmosphere is laid back and has a very positive vibe. Though the restaurant wasn't too busy inside, I observed they have alot of loyal customers who ordered takeouts or sat at their tables to dine with them. I definitely will come back to try their Papaya Salad and Pad See Ew.
