We were three people and by law the tow truck can only take two adults and so Chris called another shop in the area he knew to see if our third member could wait there for the cab. Then he drove our third member to the shop before towing our car. We were really impressed with one of his stories on how he recovered a car that was fully submerged under water (he is a former Marine and has diving gear). Highly recommend.

When it came time to repair the vehicle he charged me 3k for the repairs. Not only did Tim Stanford not fix my brakes, brake lights oil leaks, and lights. When confronted about the 4 miss diagnosis of those things he lashed out verbally assaulted me. Even coming to my place of work with my property after the Meredith PD told him to give me back my property. Then when in the middle of my workday he caused a huge disturbance in my place of work yelling and threatening. I called the cops again as he took off with my tires again. He refused to give me my tires back. He wouldnt take ownership of his failed 4 miss diagnosis. Then when i asked him to do a partial refund for the oil leaks that are still present he lost it even further! In the end i got my tires back thanks to meredith police. When I told them that sounds wrong as now I have to pay for 3 days of their storage fees and also don't live in the state and needed my car back before the work week, they immediately told me if I have a problem to call the cops. I did, and the officer I spoke with quite literally told me "I would get my car back as soon as you can, otherwise it will be crazy expensive". Stanford did not budge after I told them I had spoke to the police and told them what they told me. When I went to pick up my car Monday, the business did not answer multiple calls from me, and I had to call the police AGAIN to finally get in contact with the owner to get MY PROPERTY back. And he charged me $1600. This place is a scam, and the owner is a bully and that is how he gets away with scamming people.

Al's was quick, thorough and affordable. Took my "new" used car in for what should have been a…read moresimple inspection. When they couldn't find the wheel lock key they called me. Told them to just cut the locks off since I had no idea where the key could be. Soon afterwards they called back that the car was ready. They replaced the locks without damaging the rims or lugs, and replaced the rear wiper that was damaged too. Thanks Al's for quickly working through the unexpected issues, keeping me informed and ensuring my car was safe. They even gave me some recommendations on freshening up the fading paint. Would definitely recommend Al's and bring my car there again.
