The guard wasn't sure we could stay there because my husband isn't retired military so our adventure began. Found the park. It is nice and someplace we would stay. Caution! After getting lost on the base and our encounter with a different guard station we finally found where to go to get a base permit. So, unless you are active military or retired you can't stay here.

When I asked a resident to turn his outside tv down I was told to shut the f@&k up and go to my trailer. Yelled at me to shut my f&$ki@g door. Turned the volume up. When we checked in never received promised email with codes for bathrooms/laundry. Had to ask next morning. And no, the email was not in my junk, never was. We left a day early. Had no choice but to stay here as we were sick. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone. Keep driving!!

This is a fun fair…read more It was my first visit. It had a lot of open areas to sit and visit and eat your fair foods. The entertainment was a lot of fun, I played a few of Freddies games, I even got second place in one. I loved watching Skip the Balloon man with his songs and huge balloon. He's so funny!! And I love the Ducks!! I watched three of their shows, and I even got to race a duck!! Mine won!! The sax player was really good too. I loved walking around the carnival. It is really pretty at night. I enjoy the music and lights. The kids were having a blast. I liked listening to the band. They played great music. If I could change just one thing, it would be that back area where the knights and king was, I accidently found it, and not very many people were watching, not because it was boring, I felt like it was really hard to find. But it was entertaining to me. I like this fair a lot.

Even after decades of traveling the West, the East Sierra region escaped our notice until recently. US 395 is one of the nation's best drives, the history of the Owens Valley is fascinating, Whitney Portal is stunning to the point of near-disbelief, Owens "Lake" is INCREDIBLY photogenic (see photo), Sonora Pass (CA 108) north of Yosemite is excellent, and Yosemite is...well, uh...Yosemite. Lake Olancha is a perfect base camp and stopping point for exploration of the area. . Our cabin was spotless. Scenery was superior. Ignacio and Irene are very friendly, prompt, articulate, and ethical - the kind of people you want do business with. Other guests at the park spoke very well of them. Places like theirs blast vacations into the triumphant zone. A+++

They have paddle boards and kayaks to borrow, and a suspension bridge you can go across (nope) and probably jump off of (that would be my grandson). The tennis court looks good enough, with a basket ball hoop at one end. They have lovely pavillion type structures at the side of the lake with a lovely view of the mountains. Super friendly & helpful staff... What's not to like! Quiet. I'm hoping there will be good star visibility tonight!

Had not stopped for about ten years but this time I again found the park a nice stop. Roadways are dirt, the pool is not heated, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of the back in spots are 30 amp as they are part of the original park. They have added 7 new drive thru sites with 50 amp and water. No sewer hookup but there is a dump station. The restrooms and showers are old but spotlessly maintained and very clean! Lots of hot water for your shower. This park accepts Passport America so it makes a great discount on the already very fair rates. Easy access to either SR 58 or SR 14. The property looked in better shape than it did the last visit. Grass around a number of sites and the sites clean and level.

Amazing views, a short walk to some waterfalls and streams, full hook ups on both sides (EG: you can pull in on either direction). The only 2 knocks I have; the sites seem like they could be a little tight if you don't camp with a friend (and have 2 spots together) to get 1 combined campsite. And the terrain isn't really level so there is some adjusting and leveling to be done on your rig. But either way 5 out of 5. We will 100% be back on a later date.
