I like hanging around in the morning and make new friends in this place. It's convenient, clean and the (young) staff very friendly. During the rally the parking is packed with cool vendors. They also don't gouge the gas price. Make sure you stop say hi and check all the stuffed trophies.

Their small cabins have no running water however the bathrooms are only steps away. The bathroom building has showers and laundry available and they keep them squeaky clean. Very nice amenities. The cabins themselves come with AC, heat, Cable TV, microwave and mini fridge. Each cabin also has a provided picnic table, fire pit and BBQ pit. We brought our own propane cooktop and pop up shade. Both are not a necessity. The General store and gas station were super convenient and vendors fill the parking lot at rally time. The store has almost everything you might need while camping. The jerky and gourmet pickle selection was awesome! We also enjoyed the dried fruit. All available at the general store. Another great stay at a high class camping lodge!!! I will say the place is quiet even with people ride their bikes in the camp ground. Everyone was super friendly except for one bus driver. He demanded we have an extra bracket when we were told our bracelets covered the shuttle and the campground. We were never told otherwise, except for him. Overall okay place to stay for a weekend.

But again, nobody has good service during the rally. The small towns are overwhelmed with crowds that dwarf the entire size of their towns, so I get it. It's like stepping back in time when entering this place. The restaurant is very old school. Nothing changed in this place for probably 50 years or more. A little dark and dingy, but at least it's not generic and corporate, like so much else these days. And I love that! I found it perfectly located for us to travel a bit to get to all of the area attractions rather easily. The furthest point away from us was the Badlands & yet the day we went there we also went through Custer State Park & Wall Drug & then still came back to eat at Buffalo Jump in Beulah, WY. (I "HIGHLY" recommend this restaurant; also Buglin Bull in the town of Custer, WY). Dogs are welcomed! Driveway is rough but no more than any back-road in the area. Winter use "MIGHT" be an issue but that depends on the staff's ability to keep it clear. Midwest Ice would make it useless but what I remember of the area, that SHOULD NOT be an issue. Disliked  · Size. At my age I am not well suited for a Tiny House. When the 2nd bed was unfolded I had to squeeze past to get into & out of the bathroom. Proximity of other guest. For us this was our destination for a get-a-way but we shared our building with others (2 units in this building) & our neighbor was only a car length away in the other direction as well. There are only 5 tiny houses & 3 are single units for larger groups/families, so there are not too many people. Some brought children which is to be expected. This interrupted the quiet from time to time which seemed pronounced because of the quiet but really it was not that bad. We were the only ones "At our final destination"so it was a more noticeable inconvenience to us.

We headed for the underground parking but then was lucky because there was one spot left for diamond members. There was only one person at the check in desk and we had to wait. I feel that they should have had another person for the Hilton honors desk as in other hotels. The other thing is they charge for parking even for diamond members and justify this by 'giving' you $15 in casino credits. For those who don't gamble - like us - it's not a perk. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom preferred as it's a shower style. The view was nice as we could see trees, the mountain and the sky. The downside for me was the 'spotlight' above the shower. Due to an accident I still am unable to stand bright lights and I feel this light didn't have to be right on top of the person in the shower. A little bit to the middle of the shower would work just as well. The breakfast provided was either a continental style or a discount off a menu item or the breakfast buffet. There is a shuttle that comes close to the hotel you can take to Main Street Deadwood. Not sure I would stay here again but it's an average hotel.
