After our first call with the Bespoke planners Nat and Ash we immediately felt a sense of comfort. Planning a destination wedding was a little worrisome seeing as we both work full time jobs. From the very beginning Nat and Ash started out our chats by just getting to know us and hearing what our perfect wedding day would look like which I appreciated. I know there are some brides that don't need much help but there are some like me that have an idea of what they want however can't seem to put it together. They were there to help with ideas and at the same time let us voice things we were not excited abt in which we quickly came up with other ideas and they were not offended. I loved the fact that they always kept telling us to be honest with them and to be upfront. Once we landed on the island there was minimal stress abt things that needed to happen. Summary Review: Hire BDE; trust in their abilities; don't look back. They are simply the best at what they do. Extended Review: Planning Considering most of their clients are not based on Hawai'i, they made planning across time zones a breeze. We had regularly scheduled calls with established milestones and clear accountability between us and them. That may sound onerous, but what they required from us proved be very little relative to our expectations. By virtue of their web-based application, we were able to communicate style, tasks, vision, and other planning needs with ease. We had the good fortune of meeting Natalie and Ashley in person on Maui for a 'field-trip' of activities that allowed us to get an eyes-on view of the island and the potential venues and vendors. This was planned flawlessly. We had the chance to visit 10+ venues and evaluate caterers, pastry chefs, hair and makeup artists, etc - all in less than 48 hours. We felt confident in their abilities beforehand, but were still impressed by their skill in putting together such a packed weekend. We had a lot to consider, but based on what we learned on our field-trip, we were armed with the information needed to make decisions comfortably and confidently. Throughout the planning process, Nat and Ash were 100% transparent with where we stood financially. They gave us guidance on what to prioritize, where to spend and where spending probably wouldn't be worth it. Needless to say, they managed our budget expertly. Everyone says, "plan on spending 20% over your budget to plan a wedding". Not with Nat and Ash. We gave them a number, and they made possible the wedding of our dreams - well under budget. Vendor Selection and Management Natalie and Ashley know everyone you need to know on Maui. They have relationships with all of the key hotels, managed properties and estates, caterers, hair and makeup, photographers, restaurants, musicians, DJs, officiants, decor specialists, florists, stationery companies, rental companies and any other kind of related company you can think of. They are candid in their opinions and can help guide you in making the decision that suits your tastes. Once we made our selection, they handled literally everything on our behalf. They were truly our advocates in any discussions with vendors (almost all of which were invisible to us), ensuring our needs were met, unafraid to have the awkward conversations if and when any expectations weren't met. They handled all logistics and day-of planning with expertise, sending out detailed and thoughtful communications to vendors well in advance so each vendor knew their responsibility down to the minute on the day of our wedding. Client Interaction Natalie and Ashley are extraordinary at their job: detail oriented, focused, creative, and experienced. They'll think of details, options, and other considerations one may not normally consider. As people, they are enthusiastic, energized, and prepared to partner with you on your event. At times, they seemed more excited to plan our wedding than we were, making the planning process legitimately fun; something you will undoubtedly appreciate. Following the wedding, my wife and I have often remarked that we miss them and their energy. I don't think I can stress enough how much they enjoy their job - they approached every idea we had with passion and enthusiasm. Above all else, they put their clients' needs first - and it is abundantly clear EVERY step of the way. Aesthetic Style This is what led us to hire them. Look at the pictures of their previous events. Let's be honest - having a wedding or event in Hawai'i is treat enough for you and your guests. But, hiring Nat and Ash will put things over the top. Literally everyone who came to our wedding told us it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever seen, and I'm inclined to agree. They will intake your vision and turn into a reality that will leave you breathless. We had a few design inspiration calls, we created pin boards, and they took our ideas and totally ran with it. We worked with BDE to plan our huge 160 person destination wedding - one of the largest destination weddings our hotel - and potentially the island of Maui - had ever seen. BDE was simply AMAZING! From start to finish - their team was there to flag things that we wouldn't have thought of, while planning an event on an island that isn't always used to such large capacities. Their team was able to think 100 steps ahead & loop in other vendors to ensure we had enough rentals available, etc. Their knowledge of the island, key vendor relationships, price negotiations, etc. were so extremely helpful in creating our dream wedding vision. I was not an easy bride to work with (I never thought I would be a bridezilla, but I was!) and I am extremely picky when it comes to the tiniest details - and BDE was able to make every wish of ours come true. (I also do event planning myself - so I am typically hard to impress.) I pulled multiple inspiration photos off of Pinterest and also came up with concepts that I had never seen done before in real life or in photos - and they were able to make all of it happen. To get an idea of some of the amazing details they pulled off and CREATED/BUILT themselves, here are a few: * They created a custom giant 20' tall teepee * Two smaller teepees * Sourced a very detailed rose gold fondant cake * Custom dreamcatcher wall to fit our Bohemian theme - with hanging glass terrariums below it as an appetizer station * A custom ice cream stand * A rustic bruschetta station * Custom mini teepee card holder * They completely nailed our style and vision * All of their rentals fit our vibe perfectly * Custom rustic food signage * Custom large gold glitter arrows * Custom leather luggage tags that doubled as guest escort cards and party favors * Custom, die-cut, banana leaf-shaped dinner menus * BDE surprised us with a "coconut man" to open coconuts for the bride and bridesmaids for a beach photo shoot * It rained (downpoured!!) - out of nowhere - right before the first look (after everything had already been set-up outdoors for the ceremony and reception and BDE worked with their team to make everything look perfect and were able to hide/revive everything from the rain). The rain stopped and the outdoor festivities continued as planned! BDE was soaking wet running around in the rain busting themselves for us - and I never even knew the scale of what they pulled off until after the wedding, because everything seemed perfectly normal since they saved the day! We're talking - 40+ tables were cleared off - 160+ cushions were dried, décor was removed and then replaced on all of the tables, etc. * For our after party that we wanted to look and feel like "a rabbit hole" - a la "Alice in Wonderland", BDE came up with this awesome idea to have "Eat Me" and "Drink Me" themed biscuits, chocolates, and juice bottles - they even custom made the little juice bottles with "Drink Me" charms on them * They helped us track and store 100+ shipments we sent from the continental US to Hawaii - and were completely on top of all shipments, opened each and every box and item to ensure they were not damaged in shipment, photographed the contents for us, stored them, and hand-delivered them to us when we got into town * They provided us with transportation recommendations for our rehearsal dinner and snorkel tour recommendations for our guests * Their fantastic relationships on the island are also extremely key * They are so energetic and positive and fun to work with! BDE was always extremely accountable when it came to having our weekly/monthly check-in calls, they have an extremely organized online database where they track your progress, as well as their own progress. Our Wedding was above and beyond what our dreams could have imagined. Nick and I felt a connection to Nat and Ash from the very beginning. They were so nice, always bubbly and happy and very reassuring and comforting. They were immensely knowledgeable on all aspects of the wedding that we had thousands of questions about and no matter what if we ran into any bumps along the road they made sure to help us get around it or offer us better solutions so that we were always happy with our final decisions.
