They were larger pieces of battered deep fried chicken (think sweet and sour chicken) and cooked so long as to be hard and greasy. He didn't want to eat them, and after one bit I completely agreed. They were terrible. Very little meat, very hard coating, very oily. Yuck. We threw nearly all of it away. My wife ordered sushi, and during the ordering process there was some confusion as to what fish came with it and whether there was an upcharge or not. She ended up with a standard sushi order and didn't enjoy it all that much. It might have been sitting around a bit too long. I ordered the General Tso chicken and was very disappointed. There was lots of chicken and it wasn't fried as hard as the chicken fingers, but I didn't like the sauce. It was loaded with minced ginger, shallots, and garlic which gave it a much different taste than anywhere else I have had this dish. As I looked at it more, it hit me... I have bought this bottled sauce before from the supermarket. I think it is "Iron Kitchen" brand, and I used to have some in my fridge (when I bought it, I discovered it didn't taste good either so it sat in my fridge for ages). I'm not normally a major pad Thai enthusiast, but the version here was well-balanced and flavorful, not just kind of sweet and gloppy like a lot of local versions, and the broth for the chicken noodle soup is also truly random-SE Asian-street-cart level flavorful. While he was cooking away, another large group of at least seven people arrived and sat themselves. You'd never know there was one guy doing everything all alone because the food was beautifully presented, all dishes were served together and man was it delicious! Everyone was very happy with their meals and we all got a variety of dishes. This is clearly a small business and definitely worth checking out. The one guy there was working so hard, but was so friendly and still attentive, despite manning the place alone. I will definitely be back to try out more
