My boyfriend and I were so over cooking dinner that we decided to make it a movie night with some Chinese takeout. I opted for the general tsos, he went for the sesame chicken, and we shared a spicy crab sushi roll because, let's be real, sushi is the best. It was a bit on the pricey side, but we said well let's try it. So, how was it? Just okay. The rice was dry, the broccoli was basically just a crunchy and raw little decoration, but the chicken and sushi roll were pretty great. And then I realized - no fortune cookies. What kind of Chinese place doesn't give you fortune cookies? It's like they're not even trying.

This spot is so close and convenient to me, but this is my first visit! Yang's has been on my list for a while and it always recommended to me by a friend. Located in Newton Plaza, the location is easily accessible and I could see it being super convenient for take out. It's an Asian bistro with all the options you could want, Thai, sushi, hibachi, etc. The dining area is nice, they have a sushi bar you can sit at, otherwise it's all tables and booths. They do not have hibachi tables here, you just order it to your table. It was a relaxing spot for a nice dinner. The service was great, they were always checking in to make sure we were happy. I started with some hot sake which hit the spot. My friend and I both ordered hibachi dinners and the soup and salad came out right away. The clear soup and house ginger salad were standard and good. Then the hibachi platter came out, great portions! The filet was perfectly cooked. I loved the dipping sauces too! The mustard sauce was to die for, I put that on everything! The portions were great and we both had a box to take to go. A good spot to come with friends or a casual date night! I will come back to try more items or maybe try take out.

    Hibachi chicken dinner

Delicious hibachi takeout! I ordered chicken hibachi dinner which comes with salad, clear soup, tons of tasty chicken, noodles and fried rice. I also added an egg roll which was excellent. The salad dressing was a great combo of ginger and savory miso flavor. Clear soup was still hot, savory and a little smoky. Main course had well-seared chicken with a delicious sauce. Not greasy at all and with great flavor. Also came with some excellent hibachi sauces! Overall, totally worth the price and wait for some delicious takeout. Friendly staff inside as well. I'll be back!

I went into this place thinking this would be an upscale Chinese spot. But I was wrong, it's the same stuff as any other corner Chinese spot. I ordered Beef broccoli and shrimp lomein for my Friday night dinner. Beef in the beef broccoli was not good. Somehow all Chinese restaurants don't use premium cut for beef broccoli dish. They use fatty nasty meat. The shrimp was microscopic in my shrimp lomein. I would like to pay $5-8 extra and would like jumbo shrimps please. 3 stars from my side, nothing special.

Our family loves Yang's. It is our Sunday night go to. The ambience is delightful, the wait staff is friendly and efficient, and best of all: the food is delicious with both Chinese and Japanese choices.

This is a great place on any day. We came for lunch, after my husband suddenly decided he wanted to go out on Christmas Day to catch some of the Packers vs. Dolphins game which was blacked out on DirectTV. After a lot of disagreement about where to go, I picked Yang's Bistro and I got final say because I was driving. Of course, we all know that most Chinese restaurants are open on Christmas Day. Nothing has driven that home more in American culture than the film, A Christmas Story. We were first to show up at Yang's for lunch. We made a bee line for the large tv at the bar. The staff put on the game for us. The food here is actually Asian fusion. My husband got the octopus and fluke sashimi. It was great. Very fresh. No photo. Sorry. He was too busy eating and I was too busy trying to see if he would share some, which he did. My Singapore Mei Fun was the real deal. I'm not sure I did myself a favor by telling the waitress in Chinese that I can eat really spicy food and that I love curry. They made it spicy alright. It was as authentic as could be. My husband kept reaching over to scoop some out of my plate. He said it was perfect. They gave me such a large order that--even with my husband "helping"--I don't think I even ate half of it. More great leftovers for me tomorrow! The husband's Filet Mignon & Scallop Hibachi was wonderful. He thought it was perfect, too. I was relieved. He's such a fussy foodie. He insists on having his steak rare. We shared a dessert. Mostly, because he wanted to stay to watch a bit more of the game. He picked the Pumpkin Cheesecake. I didn't object. It was amazing. They even dressed it up with whipped cream and sprinkles, but the cake was really delicious to begin with. They just made it richer and even better. I saved this bit of news for last. The bartender, Frank, makes really great drinks. I love Lychee Martinis, because I love lychees and the cocktail that I had here was among the best. I also really enjoyed the green tea shot. Light. Not too sweet. So we came partly for the game, but we ended up with our own Christmas story. We left happy, full and fully entertained by a really awesome meal at Yang's. The staff was very nice and attentive. We weren't the only customers. Soon other families started arriving. The staff was taking a lot of phone calls from people checking to see if the restaurant was open. If the callers showed up as we did, they would have found out that Yang's is a great place during the holidays.

Several different options of Chinese and Japanese food. I had the duck egg roll, potstickers, and chicken pad thai. Everything was fresh and delicious. I want to try the sushi next time!

Their curry dishes are all accidentally vegan, and you can keep them vegan when you add a protein by choosing either steamed or fried tofu. The staff is so polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and can help you customize your meals if you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or have any other food sensitivities. On this visit they were decorated for the holidays. Beautiful red, silver, and white balls hung from the ceiling, string lights, pine garland, and a flocked Christmas tree in the front window all made the restaurant cozy and inviting. I had the curry fried rice with spring rolls and unsweetened iced tea and my husband had the hot vegetables entree with white rice and a side of sticky rice.

Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out. The spring rolls, the gyoza, the crazy noodle (drunken noodle), curry rice, fresh rolls, all of it has been good everytime we go. This review is long overdue, Tamarind is just so good if you need vegan or vegetarian options they have a lot of plant-based menu items. The unsweetened iced tea, that's my jam! Love it!

Check! We ordered mild for the more spice resistant of the two of us (with sides of chili paste and powder for yours truly). Flavors were spot on-served piping hot (temperature) in very generous portions. Drunken noodle? Check! These rice noodles are not as broad as some other local Thai places but again-a very large portion with a perfect balance of savory, salty and sweet (also ordered mild for this first visit). Absolutely delicious....oh how I love the gumminess of a good rice noodle. The summer rolls were also great. We tried them with crab instead of our usual choice of shrimp (avocado was also an option). They're served with a peanut sprinkled hoisin sauce and a second peanut sauce. Again-nice sized portion with super fresh ingredients. Almost forgot-we did try a salmon avocado roll to sample the sushi-it was also great. But we wanted to focus on the Thai options. Not pictured but tasted (bc I dove in and scarfed without pausing for photos!): -Larb salmon: I've only had chicken and vegetarian versions of Larb (sometimes spelled Lahb); the salmon (raw) was one of the best things I've tried in a while. The red onions, scallions, rice powder, vinegar, chilies and fish sauce make this the ultimate umami experience that I can't wait to have again. -mango sticky rice: perfection. Ripe mango cut into cubes with sticky, sweet (and slightly crunchy) rice drenched in coconut milk sauce. I'm drooling as I write this. In case you don't now, the original version of this family owned and run restaurant had a terrible explosion/fire and underwent renovations last year. They took over the space next door and expanded the dining room area. It's light, bright and welcoming. Service was awesome-friendly and super fast. The menu is also extensive. I was initially overwhelmed by the choices so we stuck to the basics. Can't wait to go back and try more!

We were there for lunch on a weekend and it was not busy at all. Looks to be a family run business. Service was good with only the lady and her daughter working the front. We ordered the Thai tea and it was a bit too sweet. The Tom Yum noodle soup was good but also a bit on the sweet side compared to what I've had in other restaurants. But I do like it though. Tastes more like the Vietnamese version. The chicken curry puffs were good with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Though a bit pricey with only 3 puffs for $8. Also curry flavor could have been a bit stronger. We will have to go back to try more off their menu. Not only does it have excellent Thai food, it also has one page of their menu offering Korean choices. There are separate lunch and dinner menus. Both menus are easy to navigate and clearly written. Their menus state designated spicy dishes can be modified on a scale of 1 to 5. There are numerous lunch specials offered. They come with miso soup or green salad. The waitress (owner?) was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started with Spring Rolls and tea. Tea bags were placed in large mugs. I would have preferred a pot of brewed tea and small handleless cups offered at a few other places. We ordered lunch specials: Drunken Noodles with Tofu and Pang Kamee with Chicken. The soup broth was flavorful but could have had more tofu pieces. The Spring Rolls were average. My Pang Kamee was seasoned perfectly. Very tasty, it was seasoned nicely with spices, but not hot. I liked the perfectly cooked wide noodles and thinly sliced carrots. The chicken was moist and tender. The Drunken Noodles was also enjoyed by my daughter. What was exceptional about it was the Tofu! There were large pieces of tofu that were sautéed or grilled slightly. Delicious! Best tofu she has eaten in a long time. Our portions were generous, and both meals were finished because they were tasty. The restaurant has nine uncrowded tables and does a lot of takeout.
