The owner, Ellen, took the time to carefully assess the clothes. She was thoughtful as she walked us throughout her entire thought process, pointing out specific seams and fabric details that made the alternation challenging. She patiently answered all our questions, outlining every potential step and its associated costs. This meticulous breakdown showed she genuinely cared that we made an informed decision, not just a quick sale. This was further confirmed by my family member (who was with me), who has extensive tailoring experience themselves and fully agreed with Ellen's assessment. Here here here for unbiased and fairly priced alterations! I picked up my dress from a bridal salon in Westminster a month ago and was on the brink of spiraling as the dress ordered was massive. I previously requested to buy the size down as the bust/waist measurements of the recommended size were way bigger and my dress wasn't fitted on the hips, but the Westminster Bridal salon persisted... alas the dress was too big and I was too flabbergasted to complain. All to say, I drove straight to Tomato Wedding / Best Alterations to get things fixed and a few weeks later, the dress is now already in an incredible state. The seamstress has so much integrity as she prefaced from the get that the project might be a big one (and $$$) if she needed to fully redo the bodice, but once the first fitting happened, she let me know she was able to avoid doing so and maintained the structure of the dress as closely as possible. She added in an inner corset and also recommended me to wear higher heels to make sure the dress stays proportionate and flattering - purely based on a plethora of experience. I already trusted the seamstress from as she does an amazing job with all my hemming for day to day and now know I can trust her with any alteration, big or small. Highly recommend! read more

Actually the young lady was accurate In what she was gonna charge and knew her worth . Straight up business person . Though I didn't get my pants done do to price and time frame she could return , I still respect her stance on her time And worth. Best alteration is just that: the best! They do it all, wedding gowns, hems on your favorite jeans, taking in/out, zippers, etc. another amazing thing is they host sewing workshops on select dates. You have to call or come into the shop to see a list of sewing classes. I had to alter a dress that was quite difficult. I came in on a Monday and had my dress rushed and ready by Thursday (I had a flight on Friday and were able to squeeze me in). The women are so nice and talented and I was so grateful they could rush my order. Normally, a dress alteration like mine would take 1 week. 10/10 - I came here based on a recommendation and I'll do the same for anyone looking for a great, reliable spot. read more

Little bit pricy but very nice lady she altered 2 dresses fast we didn't have any issues with the time or communication

I dropped off 3 pairs of pants here a week and a half ago, and got to speak to a lady who did the actual hemming. I asked for her to hem and shorten my pants, including moving the elastic ankles up. For one of them, I had a little extra work on it, by sewing the rips close to the top, front area. I picked it up a week and a half later, though she said it would be done in 4 days. I had a hard time picking them up since the hours on here are not updated! The number on here is not updated as well. So it was frustrating driving out every time just to see if the business was open. I was also disappointed in the high price. I was charged $60 (brought down from $65) for all 3 total. I have had similar work, for the same amount of pants done for less at others. I gave 4 stars for the work. But if the price was cheaper, I would've given 5 stars. read more

I was going to like this place. The lady does a clean job altering however on Saturday's, she takes break or leave her shop between 9-10am and then asks customers to come back which is very inconvenient, also she gave me the amount on how much my total is and later on she called me and said that she forgot to charge me on another type of altering. My daughter was a flower girl for a good friend's wedding but we didn't get the dress till a week before the wedding. It was a dress with 6 layers of tulle, satin, lace and the layer that makes the dress fan out. I tried taking it to my cleaners but she let me know that she wasn't confident in hemming the length because of all the layers and the the different lengths and the way the dress fell. I guess there's something on the bottom of one of the layers that weighs the dress down. With only a week left, I founf Best Alterations, praying they could shorten the dress. They confidently let me know they could get it done. Friday I picked up the dress, put it on my daughter and it was perfect!
