After spending time researching the market and comparing similar trucks, I realized it was priced very fairly. It was a 2023 dump truck with only about 40,000 miles, and it ended up being a great value. Like we do with every vehicle we purchase, I had my independent mechanic inspect it from top to bottom. The only things we did were our standard maintenance items: an oil and filter change, spark plugs, and a coolant flush. Those are things we do on every vehicle we buy anyway. An ad in Craigslist caught my attention: It was a 2000 Ford E350 XLT V10 15 passenger with only 91,000 miles. I had been looking for this type of van for a few months and was fascinated with the rare V10 option and low mileage. Shawn was nice enough to answer my questions thoroughly about the V10 which made me want to take a half day off work to drive all the way out to Corona to see it. Shawn is honest and easygoing and knows these vans quite well. To bring the van to my standards He replaced a broken taillight, fixed a droopy headliner, a loose mirror, a loose plastic bumper strip, and exchanged the console with one i liked better from another van. This van is amazing and drives almost like it was new. The service and attention from Shawn couldnt have been better and i highly recommend Best Auto. I just drove 500 miles out of my way to get a van from Shawn / Best Auto Sales. I found a van on their website that had very low mileage (40K), and had been government owned and very well maintained. Similar vehicles up in Northern California are being listed at at least a few thousand dollars more, so I figured it was worth looking into this one despite the distance. I first reached out via email, and Shawn responded extremely quickly and gave me the information I was looking for. We went back and forth almost exclusively via email and he was always quick to respond and answered every single one of my questions. After asking about some small dents on the roof of the van, Shawn went out and took about a dozen detailed photos showing exactly what they looked like up close. He took those early in the morning and there was dew on the roof, but it was enough for me to see what I needed to see. Even though I was satisfied, I received ANOTHER email from him a few hours later once the roof was dry with even more detailed pictures. He truly went out of his way to make sure I had a thorough understanding of the van's (excellent) condition, because he knew I was coming from very far away and didn't want there to be any surprises. Because of this I felt totally confident in making the trip down there for a vehicle I had never seen in person. When I did get down to the lot, I told him I wanted to take the van to a local mechanic for a quick inspection before making the purchase, and he was fine with that.
