He is flexible with scheduling and you never have to wait for your scheduled appointment. I have recommended him to my mother, daughter and son and all were also very happy with his treatment. The fact that he takes insurance makes it affordable. If you've never tried acupuncture, I highly recommend that you visit Dr Wu. The pain was so excruciating that I wasn't able to function.. I live with RA more than 30 years so my level of pain tolerance is extremely high but it was something I felt I was not able to handle. My husband searched acupuncture and Chan came up in our results. He saw me that day and in 3 days the pain was already tolerable and after a few more days there was hardly any! He pretty much saved my life. I was at the point that I was ready to give up.. The horror started each night around midnight and lasted middle of next day.. Could not sleep, rest, eat or even think.. Thank God they aren't large enough to prevent me from having children, but they can be painful at times and as vain as this sounds, no woman likes to have that bloated feeling. I started going to him in Feb or March of 2012. I wasn't able to go as consistently as either one of us desired due to the fact that I have to travel for work. However, even though I wasn't able to go often, there was a significant decrease in pain during menstruation, less bleeding and less clots. He also recommended some herbs. He can order them for you based on his recipe, but they are on the expensive side. I'm going to assume it's due to shipping and handling. The last time I got the herbs from place in chinatown-SHL herbs (you can see my review of them on my page). They were much cheaper. Anyhow, though I still haven't gotten a followup ultrasound, I can tell that they shrank. He does the acupuncture in his house. But he has an area that is closed off that resembles more of a medical office. It's always nice, clean and the temperature is always perfect. He is so knowledgeable and will give you life lessons while he's gently inserting needles into various parts of your body. The sessions are $60 each. He takes credit cards and was nice enough to break my payments in two halves when I had to pay for the herbs. He does more than fibroid work. One time he even helped stop my acne breakouts by doing a little facial acupuncture. It was weird but so effective. I plan on going back soon. This is the only downside to acupuncture, the fact that you have to go so consistently to achieve results. But its better than scars and general anesthesia.

Easily the WORST experience I've ever had with acupuncture…read more There was a great place in Jackson Heights that I used to go to, but Comuni moved to Forest Hills, so I decided to try Wan-Mei Woo. She says all of 5 words to me before she has me cram myself face down on a medical table. ChinaHerb/Woo does not have the standard massage/acupuncture bed with a face down headrest. Instead they have a flat table and give you basically a hemorrhoid pillow to rest your forehead on. This is awful for a couple reasons: it's claustrophobic and gives no air to breathe, and also, if you have a neck issue, it bends your neck backward in an awkward position. It's not relaxing at all. She, then, uncrumpled some emergency blanket from some corner of the room, threw it over me and left (no mention of how long). Because the walls are not built up to the ceiling, I listen to two competing soundtracks and EVERY word of the other patients' conversations and check-in. The only good thing I can say is that menstrual cycle of the neighboring patient seems to be doing much better today! The doctor comes in and out of the room to grab supplies for the other rooms, but says nothing to me. After a total of 20 minutes, she comes back into my room, crumples up the emergency blanket and stashes it in the corner--I wonder if this thing is ever washed (certainly wasn't washed between my leaving and the next patient being ushered into my room). She asks if I feel better. I say not really. Digging her knuckles into the back of my head, she asks if I feel pain. I say, it's certainly not comfortable. She says, yes, but do you feel pain? I say, well, what you're doing hurts. She asks me to turn my neck from side to side, and says, it's better than when you came in. But the important thing, and the reason Woo is not trustworthy, is because she never asked me to turn my neck when I came in. So, really, she has nothing to compare and she is just fobbing me off. Then she leaves the room. I'm not sure if this means we're done or if she's coming back or what. Eventually, I collect my things and head to the front desk to pay $85 for less than 30 minutes. TLDR: The doctor was rude, the "bed" was not professional, the practice seemed unsanitary, and the experience did absolutely nothing good for me.
