I was very happy with my experience -- the owner gave great input, and was able to find a wedding dress that my mom and I both love! She also helped find accessories for the dress to match. She's also an absolutely amazing tailor. I didn't think my dress length could be altered very easily because of the amount of detail, but Mrs. Chung made it work! She made the top of the dress fit perfectly! She also gave great advice on how to transport my wedding dress onto the plane, and helped me pack it into the garment bag to make it less wrinkled. read more

I can't speak for others' experiences; in my experience, this place has been wonderful. In the last 2 months I've taken 3 different styles of dresses and materials to get altered. Some were more complicated than others (one dress required being taken in and straps being altered, another needed to be shortened). The tailoring was wonderful each time on the first try! The alterations are pretty expensive, but I'd rather invest in good quality alterations on the first try than pay that much or more in getting things redone. The customer service is wonderful and timely! I will continue to utilize the services here. read more

They should add "dress doctors" to their name! I purchased a bridesmaids dress from a different store. When the dress arrived it was HUGE; the store from which I bought the dress said they would do the alterations, but after leading me wrong in the size department I didn't trust them. My friend recommended Best Bridals and Alterations, so I checked them out. The dress doctors, as I now call them, said that the dress was WAY too large but started pinning and chalking right away. I should mention that this dress had boning and lots of ruching in weird places. I was so scared that I would get the dress back and it would look completely different, in a bad way. WRONG! The dress came back looking different, in the most perfect way--it no longer hung like a bag on me! The structure and ruching were perfect! Do you remember that scene in Pretty Woman when Vivian goes back to that store with the nasty saleswomen and says "you work on commission, right? Yeah, you messed up, big time?" That's what I wanted to tell the couple at this bridal shop. I was prepared to walk out with a flower girl dress, a wedding dress and have them do the alterations on my wedding ceremony dress. Seriously, if I could give it zero stars, I would. Now, that being said, if you read my other reviews, I hope you would see a pattern of fairness. The reason I am even writing this review is in the hopes that nobody else wastes their time as I did or if they choose to go here, they are prepared to do so. First of all, should you endeavor to go here, it's tucked on the SIDE of the plaza. If you miss the turn and try to do a U-turn in the parking lot, there is a median blocking the side entrance. Try not to get run over in the parking lot - there's a significant chance that could happen to. Secondly, I made an appointment for 11 AM. We were a few minutes late due to the above debacle. In my experience, bridal shops have appointments, they assign someone to assist you and off you go. Not here. We arrived, said we had an appointment and the woman waved us towards the back. HUH? it took us a few minutes to figure out where the flower girl dresses were. They had a very limited sample collection and sizes. We helped ourselves to a few of the dresses - and had no help. No help measuring, no help offering to show us what we could order and here are two specific examples of either how they don't know their inventory or what is available: * The woman walked past us as my daughter was looking in the mirror (no help with sizing, measuring ANYTHING was offered.) She made a comment about the color of the dress being all white. I told her that it also came with the hem and top of the dress in other colors. She asked me how I knew and I told her because I had researched it online. She then walked away. * When I asked the man if an ivory sample was available in white, he told me he didn't know. I needed to ask his wife. Ummm, yeah... she was nowhere to be found. Do you think that maybe you could go find her and ask her if you don't know? So much for our "appointment", huh? My dress was a non-issue. I wasn't asked what I was looking for (short, white dress for later in the reception so I could dance and have fun), nobody offered to help us and after a brief attempt to dig through a pile of lacy, ruffly samples and along with my overall frustration, I just gave up and we walked out without buying ANYTHING. The man said good-bye to us, as he sat behind the cash register, being completely unhelpful. Now, you might say "did you try to get help?" The answer to that is "yes and we were completely ignored." I have to say the thing about the appointment still irks me. Don't tell me that I have an appointment when it's walk in service and I'm not going to get any help anyway. I appreciate that a few previous reviewers had a good experience, either they were lucky or I just had a freak bad experience. However, Best Bridal didn't live up to their name today and won't be getting my business. Ever. I'll take my money somewhere I can get a little help and maybe even just a nod of acknowledgement. read more

I got my entire bridal party's attire here. The whole process was simple, the owner was so patient as I tried on dress after dress - I started by trying on gowns in the shop, thought I decided on one, changed my mind (before purchasing), and went back to try some more on. A friend of mine accompanied me the second time and was kinda joking about a dress, I put it on, and immediately loved it. It sounds weird, but I fell in love with the back of the dress. That "joke" ended up as my wedding gown. I was surprised to find that it really is true when they say "when you've found the dress, you'll just know." Bridesmaid dresses & Groomsmen tuxes- they didn't have the exact style I wanted in stock for bmaid dresses, but there were enough other styles to be able to tell what I wanted. I had a color swatch I wanted, and was able to order the color that way. Our whole wedding party was scattered throughout the country, so we had to ask everyone to get their own measurements, and call it in (no problems encountered). Bmaid dresses and tuxes were ordered. The bmaid dresses came in, and each bmaid had theirs altered in their own city. I had my gown altered through the shop also. No problems - the owner was able to give me some good explanations on what she would be altering to fit my particular shape better (larger on bottom, smaller on top). I was impressed - while I was in for a fitting after my gown alterations were done, an elderly lady showed up, and I learned that she had been getting her alterations done by these owners for years (they used to be located in Fairfax). The lady apparently followed the owners to their new shop in Chantilly. Kinda cool that there was that much loyalty. Overall, happy with how everything went. No problems encountered, quality of service was awesome, loved the personable feel to the whole process (I have friends who went to Davids Bridal - ugh, like a factory in there! I had to buy a bridesmaid dress there once). read more

When I was reading Christine W.'s review, I felt like I was having deja vu. My mom and I made an appointment to learn how to bustle my extremely delicate vintage dress and get it steamed. We arrived right on time. I had scarcely gotten my dress on when another customer stopped in (and made it clear she didn't have an appointment), and the saleswoman dropped everything to help her instead! As my mom struggled to bustle my dress with no assistance, the saleswoman and her husband helped various customers as they came into the store. When we asked why we'd bothered making an appointment, the saleswoman feigned confusion, asking why we were upset. When we finally got ready to leave, she began to yell at us, insisting that we hadn't given her any time to try to do the bustle. Why couldn't she have tried during the 20 minutes or so that she spent totally ignoring us? I'm never going back. read more

I purchased a dress from there and bought it without comparing prices. I did go home and found I could have gotten it for less money...stinks I could have gotten it for less but not a huge deal. What made me so upset was that I had gotten an estimate for alterations when I purchased the dress for $290.00. There was not much beadwork or anything that would make the alterations too difficult. I went for my first fitting she did all the pinning and the only thing we did not discuss when I purchased the dress was the hem(which I assumed was a pretty obvious alteration) . When they went to ring up the alterations she said $495.00!!!! I told her to please pull the file she had written the estimate down on because she had quoted me A LOT less. She said she didn't have it and that she did a lot more detail then what was discussed. They would not back down on the $495.00 so I had her remove all the pins and left with no alterations. We went home and got the receipt and brought it back to the store....everything she did was listed on the receipt with the exception of the hem! I wanted a very simple dress and I only paid $370.00 for my wedding dress...why would I have paid almost $500.00 in alterations!?!? I could have had a custom dress made for under $1000.00. I felt very mislead and disappointed. read more

I very frequently get my pants altered from this place. I have given then over $500 of business on just pant and jacket alterations in 2012. I recently took four pairs of pants to them to get hemmed. They took the measurements and told me to come back to pick them up in about a week. I went back to pick them up and tried them all. They didn't have a perfect fit but I thought maybe they need to be washed to be stretched a bit, since they were falling short. After trying them all on at home, finally I brought one of the pants back two days later to get them re-sized since it was super short. Shorter then high waters. The tailor said, we don't resize for free since you Ok'd the measurements when we measured you. I was like what rubbish is that. When you measured me they all fit fine, and now that the fitting is off it's all of a sudden my fault? I even told him I only brought back one of the four pants because it was really off, and he still gave me lip. The guy fortunately fixed it for me after saying he was doing me a favor and this would be the first and last time he did it. For someone that has given them so much business, not the attitude I am willing to accept. I have two other stories that didn't work out with them, on which occasions they went ahead and recharged me. Needless to say I am fed up and don't want to go back to them. They are more interested in making money then customer service. read more

I got fitted for tuxes twice here, and both times I was happy with the results. The staff members were very friendly and were attentive to my needs. They have a decent selection of clothes and they can order items for you from their catalog. They even made me look like a million bucks. Quite the feat. read more

This place is the worst. This woman measured me for a bridesmaids dress two sizes bigger than I wear in formal wear, (and the girl I was with as well) commenting that my breasts are so large they need two sizes bigger. It should be said that she commented on my body (and other than my breasts, it's not big) a LOT throughout the process, and though I don't suffer from much anxiety about my appearance, she certainly did her best to show me all the flaws. After all the talk of "this company's sizes are different than other formal wear sizes" and "you don't want this dress to be TOO SMALL, then there's nothing we can do for you" and "maybe you're not the same size you used to be" I, being a cranky little moron and trusting this lady's judgment, let her order the dress. Sure enough, it's un-wearable at two sizes too big, and she was very eager to charge me an arm and a leg to alter it. Gotcha. I would rather give my money to someone that hasn't already screwed me over this stupid dress. read more

I would recommend Best Bridal's tailoring services over and over again. Not only did I have my wedding dress altered here but my now husband had his suit and rehearsal dinner suit tailored here. They are truly artists in this industry and so lovely to be around. I had an all over lace dress and the wife was so helpful in making sure it fit me like a glove, while being 100% honest of what could be done and what couldn't. I have had tailors tell me they could do something just because I asked and it turn out terribly. I felt amazing on my wedding day and part of that is because of how well my dress fit, I had no worries! My husband's suits also looked amazing! I had my wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress tailored here and they did a great job. The service was excellent, and my dresses came out great. It's clean and they have comfortable large fitting rooms. They had both dresses finished within two weeks. I will definitely go back again. One thing to keep in mind is to make an appointment in advance since there are only two people that work there. I can't imagine them giving bad service to anyone intentionally, they give you their undivided attention when they are helping you. read more

Don't ever take this store up on one of their deals. I bought my bridesmaid dresses here. After giving them the measurements they called me to go over them. The lady insisted to go by the hip measurements even though on one of the dresses the bust was the larger measurement. Needless to say, that dress does not even come close to fitting. After going back to the store, the clerk said, "you initialed it". I initialed it because I thought she should know what she was doing. NOT! They would not exchange it even though I felt they misled me. After going to a few other stores since then, they have all told me the store should have gone by the largest measurement. If anyone wants a Forever Yours Style 7964 in chocolate size 8, please contact me. I will def. give a better deal that this store. read more

Trust me when I say, it's worth the trip: I drive 30-45 mins (traffic depending) to get her from NW, DC. I bring Best Bridal owner, Ashley all of my dresses, pants, blouses for tailoring from simple to "Project" pieces. 2. Ashley and her husband, Bong, make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Shop is bright and immaculate -- their space has a good energy. Best Bridal was first recommended to me, maybe 8 years ago,when my sister-in-law was getting married to my brother. After Ashley worked on my dress, it was no less than stunning and fit perfectly. Following the wedding, I began bringing piece after piece to her for tailoring. Now when I buy something, I think -- "a little to big through the shoulders", "need to nip in the waist" Ashley can fix it! I buy it, then take it straight to Best Bridal. 3. I've had so many other "tailors" ruin expensive and not-so-expensive clothes. Now I never worry that I'm throwing money away on something I'll never wear. 4. Do know that Ashley cares. She wants her customers to shine and look fantastic, and values all of her relationships. She's a true artist, approaching all of her work -- bridal, event or plain tailoring --- with a sense of style and keen eye. 5. I had a handed down wedding dress from my mother that was too big for me. I brought it over to Mrs Chung and she did a wonderful job altering it. The turn around time was great and the price was very reasonable. The dress fits perfectly. While I was in the shop, I couldn't help it but to notice the wide selection of dresses they had. I used Best Bridal for alterations to my daughter's wedding dress. I was VERY happy with the results. The short story: the owners were helpful, attentive, professional, and sympathetic to my emergency situation. They figured out how to fix the problems caused by someone else and created the wedding dress of my daughter's dreams. I would highly recommend them and will be taking all of my future tailoring to Best Bridal & Tailoring! The longer story: We had the initial tailoring done by another shop that I had used for years for basic hemming, etc. Clearly the tailor was out of her league and didn't know how to tell me. The result was disastrous. A dress that fit everywhere but the bust was now way too small. I was in a panic. We needed this fixed in less than two weeks. I took the dress to Best Bridal because it was near work and I was desperate. The owner looked the dress over, did some measuring and pinning and told us to come back 5 days later (this was over Memorial weekend). She cautioned me that it might not be perfect , given the time frame, but it would definitely be better. At the return appointment the dress was miraculously fitting! The owner explained how she & her husband had to take the dress apart piece by piece, taking in at some places & letting out at others. At the second appointment, the placement of the bustle was marked and we picked the dress up 3 days later. I think the owner/tailor was as thrilled with how the dress turned out as I was! I read the other reviews after I had gone in for the first consultation (again I picked this place because it was close to work & I was desperate). I had a few sleepless nights after reading those reviews & dropping off our dress. But the tailor seemed to know what she was talking about, and was not "over promising". My wife and the other bridesmaids got their dresses here for her sister's wedding. My wife's and her other sister's dress were supposed to be the same size. However, when the dresses were ready for pick up, my wife's dress was grossly different from he sister's. When brought to the attention of the staff, they refused to take responsibility and said this was not their problem and that they would fix the issue for "a good price"..... completely unhelpful and we ended up taking the dress elsewhere to get fixed read more
