We worked with Leora about a month before the big day as well as on the actual day. She was very organized, professional and just fun to work with. Before I booked her, I already had almost all of my vendors booked but she had back-up options, which is always a good idea! She was very involved in the planning process and even though I was doing most of the booking, she would call/e-mail to keep me on track and make sure people were getting back to me. She had a lot of great ideas but most of all we loved working with her because when the wedding day came, she was just on her game, setting everything up, making sure all the vendors were getting their parts done, coordinating what time everything would happen, bringing us food when we were hungry (at one point someone from her team even brought us each a glass of water on the dance floor so that we would stay hydrated!) Working with her over a 13 month period, I really built trust in her and developed a great friendship with her! She made me feel like my wedding was top priority always (even when I knew she was juggling a million other things). She has excellent relationships with all the vendors she introduces her couples to, and they're all top-notch service providers (I was very happy, and got excellent feedback from my guests, on each and every one of them). I felt like Leora made my budget go a very long way. It's important for the couples working with Leora to be clear upfront about what she and her team can't and cannot do -- that's my only advice. For example, all the guest relations (things like welcome baskets, table placements, RSVP management, etc.) were all done by me and take a lot of time, but Leora was clear that she could not help with that upfront. She is happy to take on more or less of the detailed stuff depending on how controlling the bride / groom pair is (I was a pretty controlling bride). She is very good at calming anxious brides (like me) down. And she really showed up in the weeks / days leading up to the event, and during the event itself (she brought four very very helpful assistants to work the day of). we were unhappy with the services leora and her Best Bride team provided. here are two specific examples which i have described to leora: 1) we had specifically told leora we want to attend the cocktail hour before guests are excused to the ballroom. but at the wedding the bride could not correctly bustle her dress... something many brides will encounter, and we got late. when we informed leora's team member to not end the cocktail hour yet because we have not attended the cocktail hour and the bride is not ready, the team member repeatedly looked at us and said "no we will move on." as a result we did not get to attend our cocktail hour or listen to the music or eat anything served at the cocktail hour. several guests had to leave and the cocktail hour was the moment we were able to say hello to them, and lost that opportunity. so be careful when hiring her, the day of the event she will take the wording in your agreement to allow her to do whatever she wants even when you say "no" at the time of the event. 2) she sent guests out of the ballroom while everyone was dancing and having fun, to the dinner buffet when there was absolutely no food on the buffet tables, and the guests waited for 40 minutes standing in line before food was ready to be brought to the buffet tables. when we talk about our wedding our guests still say "why did you guys make us stop dancing and stand in line for 40 minutes????? could you not pay the dj anymore?" i know many times when we have friends over for dinner, no matter when we plan dinner to be ready, sometimes food preparation gets late, for example chicken will not be cooked enough, and we end up serving food later than planned. it happens and is foreseeable in any event large or small. never has my wife said "everyone come to the dinner table" before at least making sure there is even some salad on the table. all leora told us as a reason for this happening was "well the kitchen lied to me annd said the food will be put out now." what kind of wedding coordination is that? even an unskilled person would know to wait until some kind of food is placed on the table before calling the guests to come to a buffet. read more
