Worst experience ever purchasing a dishwasher from Best Buy Dublin. Their installers made a connection to a live circuit that they mistakenly thought was off. Large electrical arc and explosion ensued. Fried the circuit. Worst part is that the installer then lied to his boss and the claims department saying I had told them the circuit was faulty and no electrical arcing occurred during the installation. The company fails on three fronts--competency, integrity, and faulty claims service. They have lost my business forever. read more

Took my pc into geek squad to see why power supply wasn't powering my pc. They had it for a few days and then told me that it powered up but couldn't complete it fully because I forgot the power cord for the gpu. The tech conformed verbally that the power supply powered the motherboard (the issue I wanted them to fix). I was told it powered up and operating system was updated and drivers too. I should have asked why nothing was plugged in internally if they had gotten it working. I did not ask more questions. Took it home, plugged it in and still no power. Everything was brand new and bought the day before I brought it in. I also returned the power supply thinking I got a doa power supply. So I was on a second BRAND NEW POWER SUPPLY. So since I can't power on my pc, I cannot confirm if work was ever done to my brand new pc. I got charged over $150 to store my pc for a few days. read more

I'm typically fine shopping here if I don't interact with employees or customer service. They have a good selection of products, mostly priced fairly. I've been here at least 10 times in the last decade with no major issues, until June 2024. I was at the register with the guy with long blonde hair and he told me that my account was closed because I had a $0 balance so I would have to open a new one. At first I was just like "um okay", I was pretty confused because my account was definitely open and I never received a notification that it was closed, and I had used it in the past year. He asked me to agree to a bunch of terms and conditions, which made me think about it a little. I took a second look at the receipt that he printed out, which did show a $0 balance, but since it is a CREDIT card, a $0 balance doesn't mean the account is closed, just that there is no balance, which is a good thing. Once I realized his mistake, I told him, "never mind, please don't open a new account". Then he laughed, a bit condescendingly, and said that I don't need to worry as he hadn't started the process. So I felt better and just canceled the purchase and left because I didn't feel like dealing with this guy, waiting in line again, or attempting to explain how credit cards work, and decided to just order shipping online. I later tested my card somewhere else (as the card works outside of Best Buy) and it worked properly. The next day, I received an email about my new account which was never opened (as my original account still exists), including a bunch of terms and conditions (about 10-20% of the email is included in the attached screenshots), and an inquiry on my credit report with one of the bureaus. I forgot which bureau, but I got an email about my "new account", which I had missed until today when I was checking my credit score. It shows an inquiry from Best Buy Citibank card or something I'm disappointed because as a 24 year old with a (formerly) 800+ credit score I was proud of achieving that, but now my score has dipped slightly. I'd recommend sticking to in store shopping or pickups here. Don't ask for anything that might be too complicated for workers, mainly credit and other services. I'd rather deal with these things myself online. Based on the other reviews, I would also avoid in home installations of large appliances, things that require a warranty, and other Geeksquad services, which are overpriced anyway. read more

She also said if the washer price ever drop below $729 within 30 days that I would get refund on the difference. Looking for a reasonable and within budget tv purchase ... as we browse through the store , cannot find the Samsung TV that I saw in their online ad. Andy, one of their service/sales rep. acknowledged our presence and asked if he can help us. He was so patient and accommodating - showed different brands and what were currently on sale as well as provided good input in terms of what you get for your $ buck $. Helped me made an informed decision and hence bought a 55" TCL tv that apparently provided a $170 savings overall. True or not, "Andy" seemed to made me feel, I had a good deal for a good tv unit and a reasonably priced purchase. read more

We came to this Best Buy location because my son found the laptop he wanted was available. There were plenty of employees walking around and one of them greeted us which was nice. We told him that we were looking for laptops and he proceeded to guide us to that section. We were then helped by another person in that section who was chewing gum like no tomorrow and seemed not to care how distracting it was. It was too bad, because he seemed to have knowledge about laptops and stuff, but the gum chewing overpowered anything that he was saying or trying to do. He also seemed to not want to be there. We showed him the laptop we were thinking of buying and discussed the pros and cons. We told him that we wanted to think about the laptop we were eyeing and that if we were interested in it, we would return shortly after walking around to discuss it. After about 20 minutes, we came back, but the employee that helped us had disappeared. We stood there for a while in front of the laptop, but no one greeted us. There were plenty of employees walking and talking to each other or helping other people, but no one seemed to see we needed help. Finally, I took matters into my own hands and went to the front of the store asking a man in a black polo shirt with a radio headset if someone could help us. The man asked who the person was that helped us, and I gave him his name. He talked into his headset to see if that guy was around. After radioing in for that guy, he said that he should return shortly and to go back to the laptop area. I asked him does it have to be the exact same guy who helped us? Can't someone else help us? I guess not. We went back to the laptop area and another employee passed by us. I had to get his attention while he was walking that we have been waiting for help. It turned out that he was one of the managers and apologized for what had happened to us. He then gave us to another salesperson to help us. Everything seemed to go smoothly after that and we bought the laptop. We were not sure why we were not given that salesperson earlier when the initial one disappeared. This store seems to have a lot of employees, but there is some disorganization. In the end, we had to order the laptop. When the laptop arrived at the store and was ready to be pickup, we wanted to open the box right then and there. We were helped by a man who we found out later was supposedly one of the supervisors. We wanted him to stay with us and watch us as we opened the box in the store to make sure that the laptop was alright. He seemed agitated and antsy and said that he had to get back on the floor to help customers. Well, we are customers too and he came to us first. We told him that and he stayed, but again seemed antsy. If he was so eager to get back on the floor, why did he help us in the first place or at least call someone else to help us? Anyway, the laptop looked good and we brought it home. Just went to Dublin and they have a power outage so I was not able to get in. This woman came out and said there were no more switches but I just talked to the manager and said I can pick up one. It was all good but it was the manner how she dealt with customers. This lady was wearing a hijab by the way. Not being racist but I just forgot to ask her name. Just so the management knows how she deals with customers. Very rude and threw fellow employees under the bus that they do not know what they are doing. This is one of the very few stores that has managed to still be in business here since the Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center was developed. I was always a long-time customer, a rewards member, and would make sure to visit this place for the Black Friday sales. Things have since changed over the years - ordering online and restructuring of the store. I haven't visited as often but still make my way there for good deals compared to Amazon and other local stores. Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee feels misleading. Today I visited the Dublin, CA store to buy the base-model Apple Mac Mini (2024, M4). Best Buy's listed price: $479. MicroCenter currently sells the exact same model for $449 (in-stock) "https://www.microcenter.com/product/688173/apple-mac-mini-mu9d3ll-a-(late-2024)-desktop-computer". The sales associate confirmed the MicroCenter is on Best Buy's list of qualifying competitors and initially told me they would match the $449 price. When he attempted to process the match at checkout, the system wouldn't allow the override. The manager was called over and, after some back-and-forth, informed me that Best Buy "cannot match prices that are too low" -- essentially refusing to honor their own published policy.If Best Buy isn't willing or able to match a legitimate, in-stock price from an explicitly listed competitor (MicroCenter), why include them on the qualifying retailer list at all? This isn't "price matching" -- it's selective price matching with an undisclosed floor.Very disappointed, and I'll be taking my business to some where else instead. read more

Absolutely Terrible Experience at Best Buy - Unacceptable Behavior from Staff I've never felt more disappointed or disrespected as a customer. We came in to purchase a TV off the wall display and were told it would take no more than an hour to remove and wrap it for us. After waiting over an hour and a half with no update, we noticed the TV was still on the wall. Only after asking customer service about the delay did they begin to take it down--another 30 minutes wasted. Once we were finally outside waiting by our vehicle, two employees wheeled the TV out. One left immediately, and the other told us to wait again so he could grab someone else to help lift the TV. We politely said, "No worries, we've already been waiting a long time--we can handle it." His response? "That sounds like a you problem." We were shocked. When we tried to explain our situation, he walked off, flipped us off, and yelled, "Go f* yourself."** Completely unprovoked, aggressive, and disgusting behavior from someone representing the store. We followed him into the store, where the manager was polite and helpful, allowing us to file a formal complaint. But honestly, it's hard to believe this employee will face any real consequences. This kind of disrespect should never be tolerated--especially in front of customers. To top it all off, once we got home, we realized they didn't even include the power cable for the TV. This experience was beyond frustrating--from the wait time and poor communication to the outrageous conduct of their staff and incomplete packaging. DVDs are now obsolete in favor of streaming. I did however, discover two cool things about Best Buy since the pandemic started. 1. You can get high-quality Tru-Fit Kettlebells from their online store. Free delivery too! The bells are packaged nicely with styrofoam. I bought cast iron 24-kg and 32-kg kettlebells at super-reasonable prices from them! I was honestly surprised to find fitness equipment sold at Best Buy. 2. They take e-waste for free, up to three items per visit. I was able to get rid of a heavy desktop pc that had served me well but is now collecting dust as a huge paperweight. read more

If I could give Geek Squad zero stars, I would. My experience with them was not just frustrating, it was outright maddening. They managed to take a simple request and turn it into one of the most dismissive and disrespectful customer service interactions I've ever had. Here's the situation: my MacBook Pro was damaged after my brother spilled water all over it. The screen wouldn't turn on, the keyboard barely lit up, I was exasperated as I thought I had lost everything. I took it to the Apple Store, where they explained the repairs would cost around $1,300, basically as much as a new one. The silver lining? My damaged MacBook could still boot into "target disk mode", a function that basically allows the laptop to act like an external hard drive for easy data transfer. Apple told me exactly what I needed to do: use a Thunderbolt cable to transfer everything to my new laptop. I walked out of the Apple Store feeling optimistic and relieved, thinking this would be a quick and painless process. My dad, who has a $179/year Geek Squad plan, called ahead to confirm they could help with the data transfer. The representative on the phone assured him it would be no problem. I just needed to pick up my new MacBook at Best Buy, and Geek Squad would take care of the rest. That sounded too good to be true... probably because it was. Picking up my new 2023 M3 MacBook Pro was the only part of the visit that went smoothly. The Best Buy employee at the pickup counter was polite, efficient, and helpful. But then I had to deal with Geek Squad, and that's where the nightmare began. The young employee assigned to help me seemed completely uninterested in actually listening to what I needed. I explained everything: the water damage, Apple's diagnosis, the target disk mode solution, and even what I'd read on the Apple Support website. I even pulled up the exact page on Apple's website detailing how to boot the damaged MacBook into target disk mode. Instead of listening or trying the steps, he kept powering the laptop on and off as if that would magically fix it. It was infuriating. He insisted that recovering my data wouldn't be possible because the display didn't work, completely ignoring the fact that target disk mode doesn't require a functioning display. I must have said, "That's not what the Apple technician told me" at least three times, but it didn't seem to register. He just kept doing whatever he thought was best, disregarding everything I was saying and acting like I wasn't even there. I get that it's 4pm on a Friday and you probably just want to clock out and go home, but the whole experience was absurdly ridiculous. At one point, I felt like I was going insane. I was literally Googling solutions on my phone and reading them out loud, and he still wouldn't listen. He then told me that if I wanted Geek Squad to attempt the data transfer, I'd have to leave both my old and new laptops with them for four days, with no guarantee they could recover anything. Four days? For a process Apple could handle in under two hours? At that point, I decided to cut my losses and leave. The next day, I went back to the Apple Store at Stoneridge Mall. The difference was staggering. The Apple employees immediately knew what I was talking about - one of them I even saw two days prior (he was excellent and helpful). They provided the Thunderbolt cable I needed, helped me boot my old MacBook into target disk mode, and made sure everything connected properly. They even checked in on me periodically to make sure the data transfer was going smoothly. The whole process took about an hour and a half (on a busy Saturday afternoon, no less) and they didn't charge me a single cent. Meanwhile, Geek Squad, with their $179/year service plan, couldn't be bothered to try even the most basic troubleshooting or listening to a paying customer. I walked in with hope and walked out feeling dismissed, disrespected, and completely let down. To say this experience was frustrating would be an understatement. It wasn't just incompetence; it was the complete lack of care or effort that really got to me. This wasn't some obscure technical issue, either. It was a well-documented, straightforward process that could have been solved with minimal effort. Instead, I was met with indifference and excuses. Even on the phone (you can't call the Best Buy store directly, you have to phone corporate, which just routes you to some underpaid call center employee outside of the country), the only solution Best Buy gave me was to come back in for another appointment. My husband and I were so shocked, we didn't even know what to say. When we walked away, I had to quickly turn back within seconds as I forgot something on the desk and she was laughing and mocking us to her coworker. I went to the store and they didn't help, they said to contact Canon because their policy is only 15 days, I have been traveling since 7 of May this is why I lost the dates. Went into my local Best Buy looking to upgrade a gift I received from work during the holidays. After waiting for 10 minutes in the returns line, no one at the cash wrap or registers, and no sense of urgency from bystanding workers. A gentleman behind me in line went to talk to a worker sitting behind a desk a the front door, we were then helped. After telling the helping employee that I wanted to upgrade the unopened brand new gaming console I was gifted, to the more high end version. I was told I was outside the gift/exchange date. I was then told it was a 14 day return policy and I replied that I received the gift 15 days after. So the kind employee had to ask a manager to make an exception. Her name might have been Elena. As he explained the situation to the manager, who did not look like she wanted to help. He came back with her solution. Due to being outside the 14 day policy. Knowing I did not receive the gift until after that date. Knowing I wanted to upgrade and spend more. She told him I had to get a membership. The membership was an extra $50, sure perks. I rarely go to Best Buy. All I wanted to do was upgrade the gift I received with the gift receipt that was given to me at the time. So another $50 on top of the $80 upgrade before tax. Needless to say, disappointed in the store's judgment to turn away an upsell. I declined, I did not like the fact that in order to exchange the gift I received I would have to spend more money to do so. For everyone doing holiday gift shopping don't buy from Best Buy 14 days before you intend to give it. If they're smart they'll extend that time frame. If not, be prepared to have a manager negotiate with you to spend $50 more for a membership you may or may not use. read more

I purchased a new computer monitor and out of the box half the display does not work. Best Buy in Dublin refused to take it back or exchange it for me. Sadly I am left to work with tech support to try and fix it, but clearly there was some kind of damage to a portion of the monitor but I did recall the best buy sales guy, slip and drop one corner of the box onto the floor while lifting it. I took it home cause there was no apparent damage at the time, but that slip might be responsible for it not working I felt since I didn't damage it and it never worked, they should've just taken it back.
