My Ex ordered a Starlink Wall Mount bracket online from Florida and checked the box to be able to pick it up from this store. Apple's Map app GPS lady directed me into the parking lot via Seventh St and I found multiple handicapped parking spots available right in front of the front entrance. Yay! I went into the store and the helpful guy manning the front desk kiosk directed me to the cashiers up front for my pickup. The friendly young cashier was about to go do something else, stopped, and came back to help me. She found the order, verified my identity and handed over the box. Easy peasy! I am furious over the failure to deliver and set up a new 65" TV. At the time of purchase, the website said get it as soon as 7/17, great! Within a minute I got notification to schedule my delivery, but it pushed my date back to 7/21. I even got a text the day prior stating I was to be the first delivery on the 21st. On that date (today), I sat around all day with no delivery, no phone call or text. I called customer (no) service and finally got to a real person instead of the worthless AI assistant. That CS rep told me my delivery is now delayed till 7/23, between 7a-7p. She couldn't, or wouldn't tell me why BB dropped the ball today and claimed it was impossible for her to intervene or expedite. I want to make clear up front - this review is NOT for the actual geek squad crew, who I am sure are good at what they do. I had an appointment today for my iphone, and the person who called me clearly explained the Apple policy regarding repairs. Apple will not allow Best Buy to order parts unless they physically have the phone, and parts in this case can take from 2-6 days. The person I spoke with knew everything about how it worked and what they could do. I loved that! What I don't love is the fact that Best Buy does not allow you to actually contact the Geek Squad directly. If you call the store itself, you will not be allowed to talk with anyone there. On the phone, you are connected with tech support who will simply tell you that you cannot call Geek Squad. RI-DI-CU-LOUS. I understand handling and routing phone calls a certain way, but to make a department completely inaccessible is ridiculous. After an infuriating hour or so with Apple customer service, I was set up with another appointment with Geek Squad. I tried calling to make sure we were on the same page regarding my visit. Nope. Can't do it. We have so few choices in town, and Best Buy happens to be one. I've bought from them and been very happy. As a store, they're great. I came in looking to return a router that I have had for almost a month, and for some reason my purchase wasn't in the system. Zach is a horrible manager and should be fired immediately. My girl brought in a TV trying to cash in on the warranty she bought for it, and we were informed that the plan likely would not cover it. I asked for a copy of the warranty terms and conditions and the people gave it to us and then just left to go talking their little corner instead of helping us out. We kept having questions and had to walk all the way across the store every time to ask them because they refuse to help us. I then asked for Zach to pull up my girl's account so we could look that the warranty that she did purchase. He refused to do so and said they would not be repairing/replacing the tv. I said I do not care, I would like to see what she purchased for future reference. He said no you don't need to do that because you don't have the right plan. I then got very stern with Zach and told him "You will pull up the account and you will tell us what she purchased." This happened a couple more times until he reluctantly sent another employee over to us to pull the account up. I sadly do not remember the other employee's name, but he was very helpful. Long curly blonde hair. Super nice guy. After he showed me very politely, no questions asked, what warranty was purchased, I thanked him and said okay, now what is the discount that you said you would give us? He said he would call Zach back over to give it to us. A couple minutes later, Zach comes out of the back and has clearly been crying. His eyes are watery, his voice is stumbling, and his face is read. I said no had words to him and never raised my voice, I was only stern, and that made him cry. I am a 19 year old male who is only 5'8" and average build. He is a 30 year old 6' tall male with big arms and tattoos, and he cried because I stood up for myself and didn't get pushed around. He then told us that he would not be giving us any discount on a new TV because " I was mean to him". Absolutely ridiculous. Safe to say I will never be setting foot in this Best Buy ever again and I recommend that nobody else does either. read more

I went to Geek Squad expecting quality repairs on my Apple iPhone 15--since they're the only certified repair shop in town, or so I thought. I had called earlier that week and was told I could drop off my phone for repair before my appointment, but when I arrived and explained my situation, I was told to wait for my scheduled appointment and was turned away because someone else had an appointment. (I totally get by the way)The following week, despite being in college and an hour away, I returned and ended up missing a full day of work to get my phone fixed. The same technician ran diagnostics and initially said everything was fine, but then informed me that I needed to disable the stolen device protection--an hour-long wait in the parking lot--before proceeding. After returning, while they were about to repair my screen, additional diagnostics revealed a code on my front camera, and due to Apple policy they insisted on replacing the camera as well, adding an extra $300 to $400 to the cost. My total estimate came out to be between $800 and $900 before tax, and the technician even suggested I might as well buy a new phone. In contrast, a nearby repair shop fixed my screen and camera for only $210, so I'll never again Go to Geek Squad for anything read more

We immediately had problems with the computer, so we called the store, was put on hold for 30 minutes, and was routed to tech support, who after 20 minutes, demanded more money to solve the problem. Due to the covid-19 appointments need to be made online before you can enter the store. I made an appointment online. I saw others who did not make an appointment online and were turned away. I happened to call Best buy Bloomington and the automated answering machine actually told me to make an appointment online so that is what I did. My boyfriend and I arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment, and ended up waiting in the car. The guy who was at the door ended up coming to our car and getting us because the people who made an appointment before us did not show up. We were with an associate the entire time. Their name was Audrey. They were super helpful throughout the whole laptop purchasing process. I had a very specific list of things that the laptop needed for school and they were very helpful. Audrey didn't judge us when I was being super indecisive about which laptop I was going to get. I was worn between two HP Spectre laptops. The smaller one was actually more expensive than the larger one because it had more internal memory. After some thought, I ended up choosing the larger of the two. When Audrey ran us up, we discovered that the one I wanted was an open box laptop so it was labeled for cheaper than the ticket price. Hopefully, I won't have any problems with it since it is Geek Squad certified. Overall, very pleasant experience with the associates and it was very organized. There is a pick-up lane where you just drive up and pick up your online purchase. There is also an area on the side of the building specifically for returns. read more

After several years I've spent well over $10k at this store - but I will never shop there again, nor will I order online and do the "in store pickup" at this location. I had a stereo put in my wife's car from Best Buy. The salesperson did not get me all the parts I needed. No satellite hook-up. All my wife had was AM & FM, and it sounded like trash. After taking with the manager, he got me the parts I needed, or so I thought. After waiting a week for my 2nd install appointment, only to find out that they didn't order all the parts I needed to make the radio work. And that it would be another week or so. At that point I just went to a pro audio shop and had them re-install the radio. Cost me extra, but everything works and sounds great. Audio Source in Columbus saved the day. The manager was a little dismissive and borderline incompetent. What annoys me is that less than 2 months earlier I had dropped $4K on a new washer, dryer and fridge from Best Buy. And a TV. Not that I'm there best costumer, but maybe give a little service to a costumer that spends thousands at your business. Best Buy is good if you want to get a TV or cell phone. Not so much if you need a car stereo. The staff were incompetent and the install service was not great. They did a good job installing the back-up camera, so I gave them an extra star. read more

This is the perfect place to shop if you want to stand around while customer service people chat among themselves, make eye contact with you as you step toward them, then turn quickly away and walk the other direction. It happened to me in two different areas: smart watches and chrome books. I eventually decided on a chrome book and just needed it to be pulled from the back shelf. After about ten minutes of waiting, I stopped someone (anyone) walking past me. He responded with a pause then "sure, I can try to do that", a simple task (since it doesn't take advanced knowledge). Then twice that same guy walked past me putting forth serious effort not to make eye contact. "gotta go turn off that alarm, but I'll send someone to you". Ok, so given that I waited in two different areas, while staff people walked away. (Could not have been that one dept was overwhelmed bc staffers were chatting amongst themselves) I decided it was a management issue. The kicker: manager told me that he was helping people in the pc area and helped 3 other people while I was there! (?) ahem... must have just been bad luck for me bc when I walked up, there was only one other person in the area. Maybe Best Buy needs a "take a number" system for customer service, or an IKEA (take a card) system for people who just want an item pulled from stock. Is it me? read more

I went to Best Buy to get a new computer for school. I literally know nothing about computers. A guy with long curly hair helped me find one, and explained how it worked very well. When I needed to know something that he didn't know, he found us a tech guy to help. The tech guys name was cole and he helped me figure out which one I wanted and explained the pros and cons of each computer. He also helped me get some accessories for it too. So where do I begin? I bought a computer Model:BB972 SKU:6362981 was complete crap. That computer didn't even work a full ]hour. I received the blue screen of death. Was on hold for over 2 hours when I just decided to drive to the store which is a good 35 minutes away. Upon arriving the 3 people behind the counter for Geek Squad and customer service where this sitting there talking amongst themselves doing nothing. This was Monday December 23rd 2019. I was trying to figure out why customer service never answered the phone, and they said That any of their phone calls that sar to their store don't get routed through the actual store. So technically I called Greenwood store and was on hold for hours. Whatever beyond frustrated at this point. Asked to return the item and see what we could get in return. Which ended up Model:SLC7200BST SKU:6362428, So we bought it. It went on the Best Buy card. The guy behind the counter said it was going to be here Saturday which is today the 28th. We call to figure out what's going on it should already be delivered. On hold for another hour. Turns out the guy was super stoned or something because he never actually ordered it, just charged my Best Buy card. How you do that is a good question. How do you charge somebody's credit card without placing an order? So I ended up speaking to a manager about the situation he was going to take $50 off Which sounds appeasing, But for$1500, doesnt do a dent. Whatever its the thought that counts, then he told me here is going to try to overnight it since we've already been waiting since Monday for it. So I get put on hold again for him to search for it and figure stuff out. Eventually he its back on the phone and tells me next Thursday is the soonest we can get it to you. So id have to wait 2 weeks for this computer, that Should have been here already and all hes going to do is $50 off of my purchase. And at this point if you guys are still reading this you're probably like what the hell is the issue, take the $50 just wait for it right?! Wrong this is the 3rd strike. So we told him to cancel the order and make sure everything is put back Where it needs to be put back. I don't know why I keep having such horrible issues with this Store. Ordered a new washer and dryer in April. They cancelled the paid in full order and I had to go into the store to get it reordered. They scheduled me 2 weeks later for May 10th. The washer arrived on May 10th but no dryer. I refused the washer and was called by someone overseas and had difficulty understanding her. Then a woman stating she was from corporate called and ask me to take delivery and they would deliver the dryer maybe Saturday or Monday at the latest. Well it wasn't delivered and when I called they ask me to give them two more days!!! I asked to speak to a supervisor and she transferred me to Joe who asks for another two days for delivery and when I said it was unacceptable he told me if I wouldn't listen to him he couldn't help me. Totally underwhelming experience here today. Went to switch phone carriers and had the wanna-be sales drone try to talk me into something else/upsell me/etc. That lasted for about 30 seconds, just cut the kid off and walked away. I came in there, knew what I wanted, and made a very specific request... and you want to argue? Nope. Slid over to the TV sets, literally ready to buy a new one (old one is on the verge of going, told you I came in with a plan) and had a second dummy follow me around saying things like "well sir, open box means the box is open and the price you see is for this exact tv right here". No shit dummy. So I ask if he has anything on sale with a certain screen size... simple request.... no kidding he had to go and ask someone else, and the two of them then wandered off to try and find the weekly circular from the newspaper to try and answer my question. My excitement soon ended when they started and continued to e-mail a mystery address and to call a different phone number then what i gave the gal at time of purchase! (she asked me 7 times if that # was right, confirmed my email 3 times) I have called Best Buy to change this information Twice! Do i get calls & email updates on my set of appliances that are being delivered a week from purchase day NO... Then i call a 3rd time and the gal tells me that if she changes the information the (Right Way) it will Re schedule my delivery date!!!??? If you shop here always remember if ordering or for delivery Check that paper work 10 Times over because otherwise it might cause unnecessary delays! I love this Best Buy location. I use them for everything. I also use the Clearwater, FL Location and they are great as well. For this review, I purchased Remote Car Starters for 2 of my cars. The salesperson was incredibly knowledgeable and Paul the installer was beyond awesome. We have purchased our TV's and Audio Equipment at the Bloomington, IN location and again, could not be more pleased.
