Being a frequent BestBuy customer, I am very disappointed at the level of service I received today. What can be only describe as a nightmare experience started with a trip to this store to buy a Samsong S10 phone. After waiting for a few minutes, I was told that the SIM card that is compatible with the S10 was not in stock and I would need to go to a local Sprint store to get it. My local Sprint store is approximately 25 minutes away! So after about an hour round trip and paying $10.99 for the SIM card pack, I came back to BestBuy. This time a different saleswoman told me that the phone with activation would be $699 despite the fact that it specifically said $499 on their own BestBuy website. Now, this was exactly the same phone, same options, same service, same upgrade; $499 online but $699 in store. They said they have no way of honoring the $499 price or even price matching it. The saleswoman claimed that the $499 price is only for new line of service, not for the upgrade like I wanted. I adamantly told her that it's $499 for either new line or upgrade and that I know people who paid $499 for an upgrade. After 30 minutes, I just ordered the phone for $499 online. But now I have to wait until the online order is processed and I would need to pick it up at "Pick Up". That turned out to be almost 4 hours of waiting! They had EVERYTHING in stock including the SIM card that I was initially told to pick up myself! So after I waited 4 hours, I finally made my third trip to the store to pick up the phone which I ended up paying $499 for and it came with the SIM card! This was a nightmarish experience. Even if they couldn't honor the $499 price in store, they sent me on an hour errand to buy a SIM card then had me wait 4 hours until pick up was ready! read more

It's the typical Best Buy inside, very spacious and tons of deparments. If you plan on going to Best Buy to make a purchase, I highly suggest doing research about whatever you're going to buy first. A lot of the sales reps don't seem to really want to help and when they do it doesn't seem like they know very much about their own deparment. They also always try to push you to get their warranty! I think in most cases, it's better to order online unless the situation is completely unavoidable. If you absolutely must go to Best Buy for a purchase, I have to say again, I highly suggest doing your research first, google, ask some techies on forums, read articles, whatever works. Thank you Best Buy for screwing up my order a 2nd time !!!! Not only did your system delete my current address and ship it to my old address, but yesterday I called and spoke with a representative who still resent the darn thing to thing to my old address !!!! The sole purpose calling in yesterday was to get it shipped to my current address. Why in the world would you ship it to the old one again !?! So realizing it is going to the wrong address a 2nd time i call in to your customer service center who says that the item will be leaving with UPS again today and going to the old address !!!! All i can so is SMH !!! It is so hard for me to deal with stupid people! Why would you not contact shipping and stop the package from leaving ????? It hasn't even left the warehouse yet ! Then the guy proceeded to tell me that customer resolutions still has up to 48 more hours to fix this, and that my purchase was ONLY $50 and the "best" they can offer me is a $5 gift card to be mailed out. I said "GREAT CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE AND MAIL THAT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS TOO!!!!" Sorry rant over just had to get that out of my system. read more

Best Buy itself actually carries a wide variety of quality products that their salestaff know well. They actually have expertise although they do push the upper end products. However, beware of the Geek Squad. This a total scam. My wife took in a computer that my son in Washington who works for homeland security in IT security had diagnosed on the phone as having a problem with its memory. After a $70.00 diagnostic and having to suggest to them what the problem was when they could not get their diagnostic to work..... they said..could be the memory. Of course they did not carry the memory chips so she had to find those herself in Mobile at another shop which the Geek squad were less than useless in replacing. Finally she took the computer out of their hands to a computer repair shop who fixed it for about $40.00 chips and all. In short this is a scam and should be avoided. They neither have the expertise not the equipment to do anything other than to charge you money. I would really like to see the credentials of these people. she was totally underimpressed by their expertise and I must say I too wonder what kind of training they have had...if any.... For Best Buy....it is costing you customers, They destroyed any feeling I had for quality or legitimacy of this store. I was amazed that they are allowed to scam customers as they do. Their people skills are the only thing worse than their technical ability. Best Buy....watch what they are doing as they are undermining a quality operation...or at least my impression as it once was of the rest of the store. read more

Normally when I go in, I am greeted and treated by really nice people. I have never had a problem. Today though I knocked off a star for a rude employee. I have the Shopkicks app and I was looking for products to scan. An employee comes up and asks if I need help with anything. I explain to him that I have an app that let's you get points when you find stuff. Without even letting me finish, he gets an attitude and says, "Oh the Shopkick app." and just walks off. I was left standing there wondering what just happened. Another employee was having a bad day, but I do not hold that against her as we all have bad days. But that man was disrespectful. I usually find something interesting thanks to the Shopkick app and I come back to purchase it when I have money. I usually use Shopkick for emergencies. I collect as many points as I can, so when I need something like food and have no means to get it, I'll use my points to get a gift card to Wal-Mart or something to hold me over until I get more money. read more
