This started out good and I thought we were going to get good help. We purchased a projector television from Best Buy a few months ago and we are looking for a speaker to enhance the sound. We had already ordered a Bose speaker that was not compatible with the projector and we then learned that the blue tooth speakers are not compatible with the projector because of latency in the sound. That is fine. So, when we asked about speakers that could connect with a hard wire, that is when things headed south. The guy helping us (I did not get his name) started asking us why we bought a projector and tried to get us to return the projector to Best Buy and buy a Frame television. So instead of making a commission on a nice speaker for us to connect to our projector, he tried to make a bigger sale with a television that we did not want. Final Update: finally got my units installed! Update: Matthew and Ted at OKC came through and were able to get me scheduled for delivery in just a few days which is so much better than two weeks out. I will update this review with a change of stars once the delivery/install actually happens. Feeling optimistic now! First and last set of appliances I plan to purchase from OKC Best Buy location. My delivery and install was scheduled for Friday afternoon so I took off work to wait for the delivery. Kept checking the status update and the time of arrival kept getting earlier (yay!!!). Then I checked it about 30 minutes prior to the last time of arrival to see that they had CANCELLED my delivery! I received no call, no text, nothing from Best Buy. There was no offer to bring them first thing in the morning. The next available delivery is almost 2 weeks later! I have talked with two managers/supervisors at the OKC store (in person), while they were both very nice and tried to be helpful no one could fix this problem. I am going to be without these appliances for almost another two weeks and will have to take MORE PTO from work to once again wait on the delivery day and hope and pray they actually show up. Additional costs will accrue with having to use a laundromat as well in the meantime. Should have used Lowes like I normally do. Oh the icing on the cake is they have my entire order sitting at the store so it isn't an issue of waiting on them to be delivered to their own store. read more

I had the most amazing customer service experience while in this Best Buy location. I needed a new device and immediately decided to head to Best Buy. Upon arrival, I was greeted and waited for someone to come assist me. Justice came to my rescue and got me hooked up with a new phone, all the needed accessories, and even gave me some helpful tips and tricks. At one point, my phone would not do the necessary updates so Justice and Joshua teamed up to get the issues resolved. Their customer service skills went far and beyond anything I could have asked for after all the wack hiccups to get my new phone working. Kudos to Best Buy for sourcing such quality team members. read more

Worst ever call center Worst ever call center, very rude, unprofessional, they hung up on me 3 times when I asked for a supervisor. They will tell you to go to the store to get your problem fixed and when you get there nothing happens. Supervisor told me I would be ble to pick up my order same day and that never happened. I brought my phone in to get fixed through my AppleCare and another software issue was discovered that they worked diligently to try and address for me as well as fixing my screen. When it became apparent that they wouldn't be able to fix it they politely advised me on what I can do myself and with Apple and they even gave me a gift card for all the trouble. I usually avoid going to BestBuy because I haven't had good experiences there and you can buy most electronics online for cheaper these days. With that said, I tried going back in today. Usually it seems like they hound you for help, but I couldn't find anyone to help me. After wandering around for a while, I finally got someone's attention. I explained that I'm looking for the Rose SC4 adapter to use an external microphone with my iPhone. It's a very specific adapter. The sales person didn't seem to know what it was and said "uh we have stuff like that in home theatre" and they walked away. I went over there and, of course, they didn't have what I needed. Went in to purchase new TV and mounting services to have it professionally mounted etc. Came in prepared to drop around $3,500 based on pricing I saw on BestBuy.com. Was greeted at the front upon arrival, and was told someone would meet me in the Home Theater department to assist. It was a bigger store than the one on S.E. 29th, and they have the new displays for all of the Samsung 4K TVs. They're a bit high on some of their prices (above retail on some), but they apparently don't make much money. I've got 3D movies for $19.99 at times, and sometime, the Blu-Ray versions are cheaper than the DVDs. I'm not in charge. I didn't really find anything today. A lot of things seemed to be moved from displays, as if they wanted to highlight the competition. I can never figure out their strategy. [] Story Time [] I saw a deal on bestbuy.com: there's a phone that's normally ~$150, but the deal was that if I bought the phone, a $40 Cricket refill card, and a $10 SIM card activation kit in a bundle, the total would be $154.62. So I bought the bundle, and then went to pick up the stuff at the nearest Best Buy (this one). When I got there, the girl at the pick-up counter was unable to process the order, and a supervisor took over. The supervisor tried for 20 minutes and couldn't get the stuff to process either, so he said that he was gonna cancel the order, and redo the entire order. I reminded him that the deal was unique to bestbuy.com and he said that it would be fine. Fair enough, I'm not an employee, I don't want to presume to know more than a Best Buy employee, especially a supervisor. So he cleared out the transaction and processed it again. He gave me an exchange receipt that showed that I was getting the same stuff but with no additional charge. But I'm a not a trusting person who takes anyone at their word, especially where my money is involved. So when I got home, I checked on the status of the online order, and now instead of $154.62, my order total was $218.45. Umm, what? I logged into my CC account to verify, and I had been charged twice. Once for $154.62, and a second time for $63.83. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, and he told me that he'd call bestbuy.com to figure out what happened. He then called me back to tell me that bestbuy.com wouldn't provide him information about my purchase and that I'd have to call them myself. Umm... Okay? So I called and explained the situation. Again. The CSR told me that since I finished the purchase (or exchange) at the store, I'd need to talk to the store to get the additional $63.83 refunded. At this point, I was like, "No, we're not doing that. They're telling me I need to talk to you. You're telling me I need to talk to them. Y'all just need to talk to each other and give me my money back." I could tell the CSR wanted to hand me off to his supervisor (whom I could hear in the background). In fact, he said the words, "I'm going to get my supervisor to talk to you" at least four times, but supervisor was either not wanting to deal with me herself, or she was trying to turn the whole thing into a teaching moment for the CSR. Then after being on the phone for almost 90 minutes(!) the CSR told me that he needed my address to process a refund. So I provided it, and he told me that he was going to refund me $50. "$50? But I was charged an extra $63.83..." And he told me (and I kid you not) that them giving me the $50 back meant that I was getting the $40 refill card, and the $10 SIM card activation kit for free. You know when you're in class, and your professor asks a question, and you get excited because you know the answer, so without meaning to, you sit up straight? I guess I got excited that I was given the opportunity to explain to him how his math was off... If that isn't the most Indian thing ever... He then told me (his supervisor told him, I could hear her while he parroted her words) that all they could do was process a $50 refund, and that I'd have to go talk to the store about getting the remainder of the refund because "sales tax." I (kindly) reminded him (and her) that they had no problem taking my taxes for the purchase, so I expected them to give me back the taxes. Not to mention... $13.83 in taxes on $50? What is this, Denmark? After being put on hold again, the CSR came back and said that I was going to be refunded, and that they would send me a gift card for the hassle. While I appreciate the sentiment, until I get refunded, this (obnoxiously long) negative review stays. As of right now, my CC account shows two cleared transactions totaling $218.45. [] Summary [] What I've learned from this experience is that Best Buy's physical stores and the website act as two separate entities that don't really communicate with each other. And you will lose your money, time, or both in your attempt to navigate through this mess. [] Update [] I just found out that the CSR I spoke with lied to me about processing a refund; there was no refund processed at all (something tells me there's no gift card coming either). A relatively simple customer service fix was botched by the dishonesty of one (or several) of their employees, and made worse by the fact that they're still refusing to fix the problem. [] Second Update [] I had to do a CC charge-back because Best Buy refused to give me the refund. The ridiculousness of a customer having to submit a CC dispute to get a merchant to return money that they shouldn't have taken to begin with is hopefully not lost on any of you. This Best Buy store is friendly and nice. My problem is between ordering online and the actual store prices. I ordered an open box dryer online and picked it up the next night, got it home and the price sticker showed significantly lower than what I paid online. I emailed this Best Buy and they gave me a number I said I had to call to get the price match, so i called it. They wont do the price match because it was an open box item, however their solution was for me and my wife to load the dryer back up, drive it back to the store, return it and then repurchase the exact same dryer at the lower price. I live 65 miles away in a different town, this is the closest Best Buy to me. Still got a good deal on this model of dryer, but I could have gotten it cheaper in store in person. And sure, Best Buy offers price match guarantee, just not on their own prices without jumping through a bunch of hoops and run around. UPDATE: after phone calls and several emails and messages they honored the price match. 4 stars for great price and business, should not have been this hard to match prices though. read more

The salespeople aren't real well versed in the areas they're assigned to. Is it their youthful appearance that throws me off? Possibly. Went in to get security camera system for our home. Found an associate who directed us to the proper area and then he left, leaving us with the person assigned to that area. He directed us to the systems that would work best for our choices, but couldn't really identify the differences between two brands. He spent a lot of time talking on his little headset answering questions made by other associates and we were left to our own devices to figure out which system would best suit our needs. Luckily we can read and discovered the differences between the 2 brands and decided on one. The associate happily rang up our purchase and sent us on our way. He didn't seem well versed or even terribly helpful, but he didn't just ignore our questions, so that's a plus. I guess my review is mediocre at best, as that's the service you receive at this store, mediocre. read more

I wanted a PS4. Here's my story. I walk in and immediately head to the video game section. On the way, I am greeted and asked by 3 different employees if I need help. I respectfully declined and proceeded to browse through the available PS4 games. For the next 20 mins, I debated on whether I wanted to spend $400. Eventually, I said "F it," and was ready to swoop up a PS4. Well...I was ready to give Best Buy $400, but they didn't seem interested in taking my $400. After my initial 20 minute personal debate, I spent an additional 30 mins looking for an employee. Seriously, I walk in...and employees are everywhere and in 20 mins they go David Copperfield status and vanish. As someone that is on the verge of stroking out daily, I maintained my composure better than I anticipated. I stood around, made eye contact with a few employees (that didn't bother to help) and then was finally greeted by the inventory guy. You know...the guy that works in the back. Yea, that guy helped me. Anyway, after 1 hour, I was able to walk out with a PS4. Waiting around and being ignored for 30 mins is a damn joke. I'm out. read more

This store is horrible in every way. I comparison shopped there while building a house and purchasing a house full of appliances. I didn't even merit the help of anyone that could answer a few questions. I eventually went and FOUND someone half an hour later, by which time it was clear that they don't work on commission ( I had figured that out before she told gave me that as a selling point), the posted price is what you pay period whether you're buying a $10 item or a houseful (and frankely the girl would prefer I went somewhere else because she could earn her hourly wage for doing nothing much easier than she could sell me appliances). I went across the street to Ultimate Electronics and found someone who wanted to take the time to help me and got a GREAT deal for four major appliances. That was 6 months ago. Later we bought a flatscreen TV, blueray, iPods, and home stereo equipment. Today, in a lapse of judgement (and in a hurry), I visited again. Only because it was faster (on the side of the highway I was on) and could run it quickly. I knew what I wanted...I wanted an iTouch...just like the one I purchased last month for one of my kids (for another of my kids). I had my receipt and asked the guy if he could match the price I got at UE. Yes, he could he said, as long as it was an "in store" rather than online price. So I produce my receipt. Instantly he began looking for a loophole. "Oh, how long ago was this?" I point out it was last month. Looking for another loophole since that one won't hold water, he begins mumbling something and goes to talk to the manager. The manager returns and says they can't match it...no explanation...just that, and seems shocked that I'm walking out to travel about two minutes to ACROSS THE STREET where they will sell it to me for $20 less. Seriously, what is wrong with me that I keep giving these bafoons the benefit of the doubt and HOW do they stay in business? read more

I've never been incredibly impressed with customer service at any Best Buy, so it's probably or corporate issue, but this location was more of the same. No one greets you, not even the employee stationed at the door. It's next to impossible to get help unless you spent 15 tracking someone down or interrupt the group if 5 employees huddled around one person trying to explain how an iPhone works. And if you are forced to go the interrupting route, be prepared for the other customers and employees to be rude to you for the rest of your time in the store. After placing orders twice in a row and running our card up a full $5000 in one day at the instruction of a store employee in order to get the laptop we needed, we were told by Ernest, the store manager, that our order was completely reserved and set aside for us. As I went to pick the laptop up, I was told that the laptop had been given to another customer AFTER we had been promised by Store Manager, Ernest, that the laptop was reserved and set aside for us. At this time, he was not only rude but completely unhelpful, interrupting and/or talking over everything we tried to ask him or say to him, and telling us ultimately that we would just have to go spend ANOTHER $2500 to place the order A THIRD TIME TODAY while the $5000 we already spent is still being held by the company for 48 hours. There is absolutely no reason that we should ever have to spend $7500 in one day for a laptop that only costs $2500. Not only did they put us through this entire headache and manage to tie up $7500 for no good reason, the only compensation we were offered for the entire ordeal was the option to purchase ANOTHER laptop, this time a model with an open box and multiple defects... at the EXACT SAME PRICE as the laptop that was brand new that had zero defects. read more

When we moved into our house, we said it wouldn't be long before we updated some appliances. Well, somewhere in there we also got married, and when you're spending that kind of money, you don't really have much left for appliance upgrades. This last week, we rounded the bend and took care of some big ticket items that were literally falling apart at our house. I'm glad we really spent the time to look online and in person at several different stores. After we'd looked at all the options, we built our order online. We were able to see better deals by actually placing items in our cart and seeing the calculated totals, which I hadn't realized before. When we finally did that, we realized we'd be able to get a fridge, washer and dryer for $400 more than our original budget for the fridge alone. Since we knew the exact model numbers we wanted, had the prices and knew they were in stock, the actual visit to the store was really just to see the items in person. The time spent with our salesperson was limited, and we were in and out in less than an hour. I think it's important to note that the online cart system means you've found the lowest price, so there's really not much your salesperson can do to help you on price. I'm sure they don't miss people haggling with them, but they also don't work on commission, so they honestly don't seem to care on a personal level if you buy from them or not, which is nice in some ways and kinda lame in other ways. No pressure, but no genuine concern either. The gentlemen who delivered our items today were polite, prompt, good at their jobs and quick. They were in and out in less than an hour, and gave us all the info and instructions we needed. Side note: You know you're officially an adult when you are this excited about something you took completely for granted as a kid. read more

This review is directed at the car audio installation center, specifically. I was looking at in-dash units for audio/nav/sirius in store, and the gentleman in that department said that I could ask the guys in the installation bay if I had specific questions. Hoping that I might find insight from someone who had dealt with my vehicle type (F150's seem to be all the rage out here...) I went back to the install garage to speak with the technician. Upon meeting him, not only was I the sole party to extend a greeting, but he and his co-worker seemed genuinely annoyed that my wife and I were crashing their break. (No cars in the bay mind you, they were literally doing nothing). I described my vehicle to him and asked if he was familiar with the type of install I was desiring. He said that he was not familiar with it, but that he could get some pricing together for me. I wasn't really interested in that, but stood politely anyways. After several minutes of silence while he searched his computer, I said, "well, thanks...I appreciate your time." ....."I'm looking for your parts," he replied. So we continued to wait while he searched for information that I could have achieved in half the time on my smart phone. He eventually supplied me with a printed sheet describing parts & installation pricing for my vehicle. Thanks again chief...I didn't ask for, or want any of this. My wife (who has management experience in another customer-service driven industry) later said, "I'd like to talk with a manager about this guy, but I'm confident that we'd simply meet a manager who is just like this guy. Managers will hire people who are just like themselves." Maybe this is exactly the experience that the corporate leaders at Best Buy want each of their customers to experience, but I sincerely doubt it, as the in-store experience is quite different. While casually exploring the section of Apple computers in store, I was greeted by not one, but THREE friendly faces whom offered to lend me assistance if I had any questions. Get it together Best Buy... Your customer's experience needs to translate into every department within your store walls! You can't afford to let $2000 sale+installation jobs walk out the door on the part of weak leadership in customer service and product knowledge. read more

I've been here so much a couple of people in the staff are starting to recognize me. In August, I decided I was getting a brand new gaming computer to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. And I wanted it fast. Both in computer speed and how quickly it was set up in my living room. On my first trip to Best Buy I got an HP Envy 700, a graphics card, the extended warranty/protection bundle, and a brand new Best Buy credit card to put the entire purchase on. No interest for 18 months! I love the computer! It does exactly what I want it to do. The salesman that helped me pick it out listened to what I wanted in a computer, what I would be doing with it, and my budget. The wait time to get my new graphics card installed was a little ridiculous. The Geek Squad agent that checked it in didn't seem to know what he was talking about. However, there was another Geek Squad agent that was absolutely wonderful. She was able to answer my many questions and put up with (and participated in) my excitement about FFXIVRR coming out. Once I got my big ticket purchase home, I had a couple more issues. The computer wouldn't communicate with the monitor I already owned and the current speakers weren't working either (though I know they both worked). It took a lot longer than I would have liked to get this problem fixed. 3 calls to the Geek Squad phone agents, two calls to the store, and two trips which finally resulted in my fav female Geek telling me I just needed to plug my monitor into the graphics card I had Geek Squad install rather than the normal port. Ugh. She was pretty apologetic about the problem, which I appreciated since I wasted like over an hour and $7 in gas. The speaker only took three phone Geek Squad agents to verify that my current speakers weren't compatible. I decided to purchase new speakers (from BB); they work wonderfully. During one of my many trips to BB, I bought a smart power strip for my new computer. When I turn on my computer, it turns on my speakers, my lamp, and my monitor! I love the convenience of it and how it saves me money :) I went back and paid the $30 again, so we could have one for our PlayStation and TV! BB has a Price match guarantee that I asked about when I saw the ad in the computer area when purchasing the computer. But 2 weeks later when I brought my ad in to redeem the $100 difference, I received two unsatisfactory answers. The first being "We don't do that". I offered to go get the ad that I was sure would still be 60 feet or so away to show them. It's also on their website. It seems like there needs to be a little more focus during training on the Best Buy policies since they weren't sure what they were. The second answer I received: "There shouldn't be anything lower since we are the only provider of this model." Hmm. The continued answer coming from the manager that was called over was that he wouldn't honor the $100 difference because there was one tiny difference (I don't even know what it was) and they wouldn't be able to make any money if they honored everything. I pulled out my backup ad that was $35 less than what I paid. I guess he got tired of dealing with me and gave that to me. Overall, half of the agents, salespeople, and other staff are friendly and helpful. They can answer questions about most anything you can think of to ask about regarding game systems, games, movies, devices; offer helpful gadgets and general price ranges; and give helpful tips on the credit card, rewards card, or website. You can tell the other half could care less by their lack in care that you are there. read more

There is almost never a reason for me to step into a Best Buy these days. There's really nothing sold here that can't be found elsewhere with a little digging and most of the time for a better price. Unfortunately Wal-Mart didn't have the bluetooth headset I was looking for so I ended up coming here. Like all Best Buys this place is massive. They've changed it a bit since I last came here many many years ago. I'm not sure if I could say the staff was hands off or just didn't bother to recognize my presence. One guy did greet us, but it was just as he went on his merry way. I don't know if the person at the door is meant to be a greeter, or just to make sure you aren't stealing anything. I've been looking for a new TV for a while so I figured I'd check out their selection. It's, like everything Best Buy, massive and expensive for what you get. The more I deal with brick and mortar stores the more I realize they only still exist because of the need for instant gratification. Terrible service by the geek squad today on restoring my Apple Mac Pro; that I purchased from best buy less than a year ago. I also purchased 4500 dollars worth of electronics this year too. I'm not sure I can say anything bad about the Best Buy store on 58th & May in Oklahoma City. I went in today to upgrade my iPhone 4s to iPhone 5. The associate, Chase, was a total rockstar. I had someone meeting me at the store to purchase my iPhone and he told me that Best Buy would buy it and that he looked up the price quickly and it was a better value then what I was selling it for. The fact that he cared enough, was a plus early on in the process. Secondly the transition from upgrading my phone was so easy. He was friendly, laughing along with us, and doing everything to give us the best experience at Best Buy. My friend Philip was with us and he had some problems with his update that took about an hour to fix. He worked everything out to give him the best deal without any hence to us being one of "those customers". I was very pleased with the service I receieved. If anyone was upgrading their phone, I would strongly recommend them go see Chase at Best Buy 220 in Oklahoma City. read more

We ended up at this Best Buy due to the one near Qual Springs Mall being out of power. I am not complaining though. It was a quick trip in and out. One lady immediately asked us if we needed any help and directed us to the product we were interested in. Also once checking out, the price in the store than what it told us online. Honestly I can not describe how awful this place was. I understand that there are restrictions due to covid-19, but they still aren't letting customers inside the building, and they aren't helping customers buy products. My husband and I needed a laptop to do business while in town and were told we would have to place an order in our phones. We did that and then we were told that they had no idea how long it would take for them to walk into the store, pick up the laptop that we had already paid for, and carry it out to us. After 45 minute, we walked up to the curb to get an update, and were told to go sit in our car. Again they told us they had no way of possibly knowing how long it would take to pick our one item. 15 minutes later, my husband went back up for an update, only to be sent away again. It's honestly ridiculous that they cannot handle the 5 orders they had in the time I was there in a timely manner. An hour plus wait is uncalled for even in these unusual times. Don't go here if you need something quickly. read more

I was in the store for 20 minutes and no one greeted me when I came in, even though there were four associates congregating by the entrance. No one checked to see if I needed help with anything, and then when I finally checked out the girls at the register couldn't be bothered to speak in complete sentences or to offer a friendly smile. I didn't even have the opportunity to have them look up my number for my rewards account, which was irritating, as the girl at the register reached around to select my receipt option for me (she selected paper when I wanted an emailed receipt) and ran right through the rest of the prompts without asking. As a former employee of Best Buy (the most highly rated location in Kansas) their low level of customer service is unacceptable. Certainly not indicative of company beliefs as a whole. But who needs good customer service anymore, right? read more

Best Buy is great, but this isn't about Best Buy, it's about their internal geek squad. I called in a panic because my 9 year old iMac graphic card went out along with three very important video edits. I told the guy my situation and he immediately said "nope!" I said "what? You don't work on macs?" He said "no it's to old". I guess I was expecting more from geek squad. I was expecting a group of people who had an excess of computer knowledge and regardless of whether or not they service computers that old, I would have thought they would have been more helpful and suggest something. I just know that if I ever have any type of computer issue in the future, geek squad won't even be a consideration. read more
