After years of avoiding the Penn Square Mall Genius Bar like the plague, I finally had to set up an appointment for my new MacBook. We got there a bit early, and everyone was extremely helpful getting us signed in and finding a place for us to sit while waiting for the tech -- that's my fault because we were so early. Oddly enough, our tech could best be described as the PC guy in those old, "I'm a Mac," "I'm a PC" commercials.....and now my age is showing. Anyway, the Genius got to us earlier than scheduled, which was great, but we were happily occupied watching another employee teach a tutorial on Garage Band and then phone photography. Neither of us knew they offered free classes. Who knew there was a reason to fight through the crowd? I don't recommend having Mac issues, but if you do, this is the place to take your machine. read more

I gave it a week to let me thoughts coalese and to make sure that I wasn't over reacting, and I've come to the conclusion that if I could rate this place a zero, it would still be too high; giving it a one gives undue credit to it. I'm not an Apple Store afficionado, so this may be a common experience, but it's made an indelible impression on me that will keep me from ever passing across the threshold again. I was diagnosed with hyperacusis and my audiologist recommended I buy some headphones with a flowthrough audio option, so I bought some Beats Studio Pros in June. With them, I got the Apple Care Plus or whatever the "If anything happens to them, you're good" insurance is. About two months later, they failed. No biggie, they're covered. I go to the Beats page to look for where to take them, and the Apple Store was #1. I work at 63rd and May, so it's not a big side-quest to run by on the way home at night. I go to their website to see when they're open, and it states that I need an appointment. I go to schedule one, and there are -zero- appointments in the week in advance you can see. I figure this is obviously a glitch, so I call the store to see if I can get an appointment that way, and the guy who answers listens to my story and tells me that no, you really can only see a week at a time in the scheduler, and no, there are zero appointments available. BUT, since all I was doing was dropping them off (the dude tells me that they don't do anything to them, and even Apple doesn't fix them, they just send them off to be refurbished, and then send you a refurbished pair the same style and color about a week later) and since literally all I was doing was using the Apple Store as a UPS drop point, I could come up and drop them off and just sign the form. Awesome. I work 11 hour shifts, and there was literally no way I was going to be able to take time off of work in order to (checks notes) "get an appointment to literally hand a pair of headphones to someone." So I head over after work, only to be told by some kid that the door that yes, I needed an appointment. I explain that I'm just dropping off the headset. Doesn't care, I need an appointment. I tell him that I literally called that day and was told that I could drop them off without an appointment, and this little skid mark says "Yeah, you and about half of the rest of the people who just wander in." He said it so under his breath that it took me a minute to process his snipent comment, and in the mean time he says "You have to have an appointment so the genius bar can hook it up to their sensors and determine if they're going to fix it here or if it's bad enough that they need to ship them off to be fixed. That, friends and neighbors, was an outright lie. I'd already confirmed the story of the man I spoke with on the phone, when my kid told me hers had done the same thing, and wherever you take them they just send them off. At that point I just said thanks and walked out. I drove to the BestBuy in Norman on the way to my house, walked in, was asked if I had an appointment, explained what was up, and was told no big deal. Five minutes later I sign a form and they shipped them off to swap for a refurbished pair. Literally five minutes is what I expected, what I was told to expect, and what the reality was. It didn't take a "Genius", just someone smart enough to use an iPad to jot down my AppleCare number and get my signature. I now understood why they have cops in the store. read more

I had a very negative experience at this Apple Store and three different employees could not resolve the issue. I placed an order to pick up a new iPhone in-store the next day between 7-7:15 PM. The order was never fulfilled and no one could tell me what happened to the $1700+ order. The first worker found no record of the order and told me to wait until 7:16 PM to get a notification about the order, but a notification never came. I then called Apple support and was on hold for about 20 minutes. While I kept waiting, I went back to the Apple Store to speak with a second employee. This worker could not help me or find the order either. Someone with Apple Support eventually picked up my call. They confirmed that I placed an order at this store, but could not explain why the order was never fulfilled. She told me to just wait and come back another day. I drove out of my way to go to this Apple Store, so that was not an option. I then said I wanted to cancel my order. After all that, she said I could ask the store if they had my phone in stock, if that was the case, I might be able to cancel my order and then buy the phone in store. It took all of these people over an hour to come to that solution, which should have been given to me as the first option. I spoke with a 3rd employee at the store and they were able to confirm that the phone was in stock, but yet again, they could not explain why they never filled the order. This whole experience was very frustrating and I will never be shopping at this Apple Store again. In the process of canceling the order to be refunded, there was then a total hold of $3500 on my credit card. I wasn't fully refunded until two business days later. I love Apple, but this experience is making me think twice about getting another Apple product in the future. read more

It started out promising. Apple Care made a diagnostic appointment for me at the Penn Square Apple Store. After an hour and a half wait while they tested it I was told my 2019 MacBook Air needed a new battery. They said they would order the battery and email me when it came in. They said I didn't need to make an appointment to get the battery changed. The disappointing part: once the battery came in and I returned to the store, they said that in order for them to change the battery, I had to leave the MacBook with them for five days. I had told them I use the MacBook for business and couldn't be without it for five days. I asked the manager if I could make an appointment and bring it back and wait a few hours while the battery was changed. The manager said no. This is the first time in decades that I have ever been disappointed by Apple. : ( read more

I made a appointment the previous week and it was a small delay before I received service. It appeared to be many workers standing around but no one able to help. I was told on my second visit that many of the workers are technicians or sales support or managers so although they could possibly help they have to remain available for specific services. Okay!?!?!! I understand it but it doesn't make sense. If the store is crowded and you have several workers standing around they should be able to interact with the customer and provide the best level of customer care they can. Had an appointment, they were almost half an hour behind my appointment. No apology or acknowledgement of being so late. Apple "genius" immediately dismissive of everything I told him I was experiencing and suggested wiping my phone and said that anything I lost was, and I quote "my problem". Had to get a manager who was significantly more friendly and wanted to help but also just pushed the issues I was experiencing onto my cell phone carrier or anything that they could blame so that they wouldn't have to do anything. Driving for over an hour to come to an appointment here was the biggest waste of time in years. The first person I talked to let me know his hearing didn't work well. I've got news for him; that's not the only thing not working with his head. read more

I went here twice recently to solve some issues I had with my AirPods Pro, and both times were exceptional! Scotty at the Genius Bar did a phenomenal job at helping me out with my AppleCare. He was kind, personable and very knowledgeable about the product and the plan. He answered all my questions and really made me feel cared for! Second time was some issues with the charging case for the AirPods and Lyssa (spelling?) helped me out with that issue. She also did an outstanding job at helping me solve the issue! Kind, personable and knowledgeable about the product. Both employees really made my visit special and much less stressful, especially with how busy it can get in that store! I actually really had an easy experience here getting my Beats Pro. The staff was so friendly. There was one person who was extremely helpful but they never mentioned their name to me. I went to the Apple Store today to diagnose an issue with an iPhone 12. The initial costumer service was standard. They had a two hour wait for a technician. However, after checking in for my appointment, I waited 30 minutes in the store without a technician approaching me to work through my iPhone issue. I walked out after 30 minutes. Never, have I been treated that way at an Apple Store. If there was another store in the metro, I would never go back here. read more

The staff is super friendly, especially Karla at the transitions table. The problem is that wait time is way to long. The store opens at 10am and I got there at 9:30. Lines were already forming.There needs to be another location or an expansion of the original store double the space and double the staff. Also I Came in to get the Max pro 11 GOLD and they were out of stock in The gold color. I had arrived before they opened and still had a 20 minute wait, plus out of stock item. I ended up just going with a different color. Expect to be in there for at least an hour and a half if you are purchasing a new phone and needing your stuff transferred also. read more

I had an appointment with the Genius Bar because my phone was having a problem with boot looping and Kirsten was super helpful! She was able to fix the problem and answer any problems I had. My Macbook's keyboard was not working for a while. After a bit of personal troubleshooting, I decided it was time for a Genius Bar trip. Making an appointment was easy online, and I got a time for Sunday when booking on Friday. I was thankful to get in soon. I arrived early front and checked in with the greeter. She let me know that I could make my way to the back to chill for my Genius helper. I was very quickly found (practically no wait time) and Devon (the scarf guy) was really helpful. He had all the tech he needed to perform diagnostics and let me know that everything looked happy with my Macbook, so there weren't any other underlying issues. He briefly walked me through the price ranges I was looking at if certain things were wrong. He took it to the back for 12 minutes to look inside and came back and told me what was wrong. He said no charge! He just cleaned out the inside and unplugged / replugged in wires (he made it sound more formal), and gave me some suggestions going forward. I took my Macbook in with one sticky key, to be repaired. The Apple Store employee took my laptop to the back to assess the issue. Upon return, he told me that the entire top case would have to be repaired, for $450, in order to fix the annoyance. I chose not to do the repair at the moment, took my Macbook, and went home. When I got home, and tried to use it, the laptop wasn't functional. I called the store for an explanation and to get a remedy to the situation. The manager, Ryan, insisted to me that the Apple Store didn't break my Macbook. Furthermore, he insinuated that I probably spilled liquid on it, was lying, and because of that, the repair bill would be even higher. My experience with this store and this manager named Ryan was awful. read more

I have been to this store 3 times wanting help with my cell phone which is a 13mini. i keep getting locked out and the workers yesterday 9/8/2023 said they could wipe it and start the phone because it has incorrect info for me to get back in. anyway, the Genius person today said no they cannot do this that i would have to wait until apples allows me to get back in to my phone. Be that aside the fellow that Was helping me asked me what was wrong and as i tried to tell him he kept interrupting me and would not let me finish to tell him my total problem. So i said there is nothing you can do he said no. So after being treated so rudely i picked up my phone and left. I tried to tell him that the info that is asked to allow me to get back in was wrong like my passcode which is my birthday and when i enter it it comes back and tells me that is incorrect. I needed to get my phone activated that I ordered from them. The store did not have mine in stock. They sent it to my house. They don't touch phones in their store that aren't picked up in their store. If you need a new device and they don't have it, you might as well purchase it from Walmart because you aren't going to receive help anyway. My husband also spent 4 hours trying to get his new phone up and running that he purchased in store. They just don't have good customer service like they used to. So sad. read more

Overall the Apple Store is great. They know what they are doing and can help you with your broken devices. They are always swamped and noisy. I tried to call my cell phone carrier in the store and couldn't hear to conduct the business I needed to. I liked it better when you had to make an appointment for repairs. Currently, those who make an appointment get put to the top of the queue but they take walk-ins. Not a fan of this, because it contributes to the noise. Another problem is that there are only 2 Apple stores in the state of Oklahoma and only 2 in Arkansas. They contributes to the noise and business. read more

Apple may be reading Yelp reviews. What the what? They did not waste any time in making me eat my words. What's really amazing (and/or creepy) is that I actually didn't complain at the store or to their customer service department. I came home all mopey and wrote a Yelp review. And then the store manager calls me to tell me that they're going to replace my charger. For free. Granted, it could have easily been their realization that my defective charger wasn't a warranty issue (like I was hoping they would realize), and they chose to replace it because of that as opposed to me being all Sad Panda about it on Yelp. Apparently Yelp removes reviews that are critical of a location's mask policies. My previous review disappeared. So I'm not going to put much effort into this review, especially because this is the last time I plan to use Yelp. I'll just say the Apple Store employees were immediately very rude to me when I entered the store without a mask. It's their prerogative to require masks. No problem. It was also my prerogative to leave the store immediately and spend $1200 somewhere else on a non-iPhone phone. They do not want to see in here often, especially the managers (James and Ray). I brought in my devices for repair due to cracked screen, 5th repairs during the last 2 years. I also been in here many times to buy new devices (I always paid full price). Last trip when I brought in an iphone 11 for cracked screen repair, 1 of the manager (Ray) came out and denied my repair saying that I am a non-end user and I have brought in too many iphone for repairs.??? This was my 5th repair for the past 2 year! Accidents happen! All the screen repairs there are ranging from $240-$350 after taxes! Not cheap! He recommend to just send my devices directly to Apple. They don't want to service them there. Management judgments are very Prejudice and discriminating due to the fact that I am Asian. I am not going to be back there again! Phone was under 1 year limited warranty. (bought the phone new 10 months earlier from them). phone battery had swelled so bad the screen was separating and I could see inside the phone. customer service assured me they can mail me a new phone or I could go into any Apple store and they would replace it. so I drove two hours to the Apple store. make an appointment at 5:50 PM. tech told me they would swap the battery but they would not replace the phone. I showed my concern about the screen other internal components and possible other hardware components that may have caused the problem. he was very rude and said he wasn't going to replace the phone only the battery. and said I could talk to someone else if I liked. I told him "yeah i would like a second opinion". he sarcastically smiled and walked off went and talk to I'm guessing one of the managers at the back of the store. They talked for like five minutes and then both finally came back over to me. and the manager was pretty much quoting what the first guy said and won't even look at me eyes. I told him OK and that I would just do it over the mail so I could receive a product that was in good and safe condition. I left the store contacted customer service. The customer service advisor I had was shocked that they wouldn't replace the phone and ask for more details on the situation. my phone had died several times during this conversation and the battery was getting extremely hot and even begin to crack the back glass of the phone. The advisors urge me to go back to the store To get it safely discarded and the phone replaced and show them the damage the battery was causing on the phone. and call back if I had any issues and he would get it sorted out. went back to the Apple store talked to a different tech about the battery and how it had began to crack the back of the phone. Tech talked to 1st tech then proceeded to say they couldn't confirm the battery is what caused the back glass to break therefore it would be $500. Tech said there was not a option for him to replace the phone even if he wanted to. I was absolutely shocked. I called the advisor back. he told me he was a tier 2 advisor and would attach a code on my case ID that would trump anything they say. when I told them this at the store that the advisor over the phone had attached a code to the case ID that would make it possible for them to exchange the phone. this was around 7:20 PM. for the next HOUR and 20 minutes they magically couldn't find the code on their end and said there is nothing they can do unless they have the code. around 830 I got a hold of another tier 2 advisor that was able to read all the notes on the case ID. and seemed absolutely shocked that they couldn't find the code. and asked to talk to the employees at the store and what do you know they magically found the code right before they were about to kick me out because they were going to close. I was handed the new phone and told they were closing. read more

We really appreciated all the precautions this store was taking for Covid. We ordered online and picked up at the store. They are limiting the numbers in the store, taking temps, socially distancing their queue. And still took the time to answer questions, etc. i actually preferred the queue to the old method of walking into a crowded store and trying to get someone's attention. read more

We have been coming to this Apple Store and using the Genius Bar for a little over a year. We've came here for help with our phones and laptops several times. Each time we've been well taken care. Friendly employees hat smile and greet you right after you walk in. There are tons of employees working around the clock daily. Which is great because this place is insanely busy. It is definitely well organized and managed. Tip: make an appointment online if you need repairs or want someone to look at your items. Then, show up early and check out all of their new stuff and variety of accessories. read more

The karen that was policing the customers had to be the rudest person I have ever met in my life - and I have met a lot of people. The man who helped us was phenomenal. We had a battery microphone and antennae replaced. HOWEVER - they neglected to put the SIM card back in and we have been without a phone. When you try to call the store directly you can't get anyone to answer. And it's not like we live next door to the store. We are 2+ hours away. Pick another store if you need help with your apple products. And I was forced to leave one star to post this. They don't deserve that star. read more

Got to be honest! Apple holds us all hostage! Expensive, limited customer service and LONG wait times! When our genius finally met with us, he was friendly and very helpful! But it was over a 7 hr wait or an appointment almost 24 hrs later. We needed help ASAP so we opted for wait...went home to do so, came back after 6 hrs, and still waited an hr and a half longer. Lots of people roaming in their blue Apple shirts avoiding eye contact. It was interesting because after a genius helped a customer, they retreated to the back room to recover from expending themselves to help a tech impaired granny, or maybe it was just to smoke weed! Since there are only 2 Genius Bars in the state, one would think there would be more employees...but alas, minimally staffed! At least we left with our iPhones working and weren't distraught to learn our phone needed to be replaced and our insurance plan had expired. Might be time to sell my Apple stock! read more

I've been to this Apple store quite a few times. Today was one of the first I had an appointment. I brought my laptop in for some sweet sweet loving's. The gentleman who help me today I believe his name was Mike or maybe Matt but definitely started with an M. AnyWho he was stellar! My laptop is now running smooth and easy. I even got some great advice about that today at Apple where you can come into the store and attend training classes. They also have open studio hours where if you're working on a project and just need a little help here and there they have people for that! read more

There's no professionalism at this store at all. The check in person greeted me with a "what's up" then I was told I'd have to wait to be seen. Connor was my technician and I'm SO GLAD I didn't listen to his advice. He was completely clueless and unhelpful. All he did was try to restore my iPhone and "couldn't get it to restore" so he recommended I get a new phone or swap my iPhone for $550. Not to mention he completely locked me out of my phone and just basically told me he couldn't do anything more at this point, he just kept trying to get me to buy a new phone... I took my phone home and restored it with no issues on my laptop but it's still not fixed.. I feel like the technicians either don't care enough to actually help or they're just trying to sell us new phones. HUGE waste of time and again Connor was f**king useless!! read more

Took my iPhone in to have the depleted battery replaced. They took the phone to the back of the store. A few minutes later they returned to say that the battery was swollen so they couldn't replace it because of safety concerns. When I got home I opened the phone and found the battery NOT swollen. Despite the terrible experiences others seem to have, Ive the complete opposite! Always professional, courteous and quite timely (if you make an appointment which takes two seconds online via support app). Also, very helpful and personable making good conversation while 99.9% solving my problem. On the very rare occasion they couldn't immediately, they eventually get it sorted, working with colleagues until they figure it out. This is not a review for the product or the apple support system as a whole, but specifically for the penn square Apple location. I've had support/service at least 7 times and I've no complaints about the staff or the level of service. Just make an appointment before you go - they offer them every 15 min (or more) and i have always been able to get in the same day. read more
