Oh heavens. How low can a store sink in customer support? After two years living away in New England, we came back to visit family. And just the time when the battery in my car FOB died. So... Came back for a simple, 2016 battery. Every Best Buy should have them. So I ask the clerk. He told me they carry lots of batteries but he doesn't know where. I ask another store employee. He says they do carry an inventory and points me to an aisle. So I go there. Lots and lots of battery spaces, all clearly labeled. Most of them empty. This review is for their major appliance section (Pacific Sales). Everyone I have come in contact with here is great. They are very informative and always willing to help. I've come back a few times to either return something, exchange something, or just ask questions. They never seem annoyed that I keep coming back. LOL. I would give them 5 stars, but when I first purchased all my appliances, I wasn't informed that I needed additional stuff for the delivery guys to install my appliances. Love that whenever I order online pickup they always have it ready within a couple of hours. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Always a quick and easy experience. My only complaint is the busy and crazy parking lot. It's off very busy Baltimore pike. Also many cars do not pay attention and speed up in the parking lot and I have almost been hit walking out of this Best Buy several times. Shitty shitty shit shit... This was my third time rescheduling with the "geek squad" before I finally said thanks no thanks... I wanted to get a new battery for my phone which I heard dramatically makes things better and I know the Apple deliberately slows down their phones with batteries so customers will buy the latest iPhone... so I was told last week when I scheduled this appointment on a Saturday at 12:40 PM that it would take between three and four hours when I went in there the person said... 'Well we need to check first to see if the batteries there... ' ...I'm thinking wouldn't you have done that beforehand and let me know so I don't have to drive all the way out there... And then he just basically was like well "this will be ready by tomorrow ".... so obviously they don't give a fuck about their customers and they figure they're getting paid either way so they don't really care about anything really... So they just tell me there's two people ahead of me and I'll pick it up tomorrow so that's when I left thinking... "Thanks no thanks..." They greet you immediately as you walk in. Purchased an out of box TV (Sony A9G) for $2,000. When purchasing obviously there could be things missing or damaged, but I was assured by the sales member (I'm forgetting the name of) (also incredibly poor hygiene, horrible odor or breath both times I had met him (time of purchase and today or inquiry)) that it had everything, stand, panels, hardware, etc no damage just missing box and documentation. I pressed to make sure and was constantly reassured. So I purchased the TV. What I was not told, however, is that the stand was damaged and two panels were missing. I went to the store again to inquire as perhaps they forgot to include them, and was given one. However, for the missing and damaged panels, I was told to do something BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. The salesman, and the supervisor (Walt), that I "should call Sony and say I bought it brand new and am missing the panels or that they came broken." Later when I called them on it, they insisted they said they said "could," and not "should." Untrue, but let's pretend that is the case. Still 100% wrong. BEST BUY, IF YOU ARE READING, THESE ARE SLIMY EMPLOYEES. After mentioning a third time about them telling me to lie, they told me that I could spend more of my time to call them and find the price and maybe they would reimburse me the cost after purchasing. I'm sorry? I spoke with the supervisor of Geek Squad shortly after asking if general manager was in to speak to, and he was incredibly helpful and polite. He gave me hours and name, and said he would discuss this issue with Walt. TLDR; there are two entirely unprofessional employees, one with very poor hygiene, and who encourage customers to lie. This is the worst place I've ever been to in my entire life. The staff is useless and super ignorant. You have to wait four hours and counting to get something you ordered that says "will be ready in one hour". The TVs were literally right in their face and they didn't help what do ever. The young girl was super rude and got smart and was just horrible at her job. There's about 15 workers in there slowly walking around and trudging. When we went none of the online pick ups were even being prepared the entire side was empty. I will never do business with them again. Very helpful staff. Anytime I visit I am usually approached within the first minute or two by someone asking how they can help me. It is a nice change of pace from other places I shop. They are great with customer service. I have spent thousands of dollars here over the years and 95 percent of the time I am very pleased. Everyone once in a while, especially with technology, I get upsold, which is a credit to the sales staff, but sometimes I really do not need the computing power or resolution that I let them talk me into. Just do your research and think about how necessary an upgrade might truly be. After all you are generally speaking to people who live and breath the item they are selling you. In reality you may only use a small portion of the total package you have just purchased. They are a high 4 for just about everything, so I am rounding up to a five. read more

Whatever you do, be careful to hang onto your paperwork if you take anything into this Best Buy store for repair. I dropped off an Ipod (the 80 GB) and they said they'd get it back to me in the mail within three weeks. It never came. I called, they said they'd look into it. Finally, two months later, I received a phone call from a woman who said I should come and pick it up. When I asked why it wasn't being mailed, as promised, she said it was because they couldn't fix it. I told her it would be a few weeks before I could make it out there. She said no problem. I asked whether I needed any paperwork (this was probably a big mistake). She said, "No." She then called me a month later and reminded me to pick it up. I said I'd try to get out there, but that I was having some difficulties arranging for that. To make a long story short when I went, a few weeks later, to pick up the Ipod they told me they had no record of my ever having dropped it off. They refused to believe me, even though I have bought thousands of dollars from that place, which they could see when they pulled up my record. I then showed them my cell phone log, which showed that I'd received several calls from the service department of that very store, and I described the voice of the woman who called me not once but three times, and what she said. They said, "Well, that doesn't prove anything." I couldn't believe my ears. I asked to speak to the manager, who told me that Best Buy was a big store and my view of them didn't matter. I said, fine, perhaps I'll start writing some reviews about what seemed to me criminal behavior. The next day I received a call that they had "found my paperwork" and that I could come up and get a new Ipod. I never received an apology for the way they embarrassed me and tried to con me out of an Ipod, not to mention squandered three hours of my time as they pored over records and paperwork that "proved" I'd never been there. It was not just the fact that everything about the service was subpar, that they didn't keep good records, or that people are stealing stuff, but also the amazingly ugly attitude that I encountered from everyone related to the service department and the store manager. That said, the salespeople and checkout clerks have always been nice. Apparently the manager didn't train them. I'll never buy another thing from them, however. This was the first time I ever needed something repaired, rather than just replaced, and it was a total nightmare. Love Best Buy..... dislike this one major. As a former Best Buy & BB Mobile employee many years ago I know some of the ins and out of the company. Came here for an iPhone 7+ Zagg screen protector. Went to Best Buy mobile to be ignored by most of the employees there to finally get helped by one. Found what I needed..... and they offered to put it in for $7.99 - now that really looks good on their monthly reports and stats. (Being able to sell services with their products). I'm good with putting on the screen protectors myself but due to fact I wasn't going to be home for awhile to put it on and to help them out cause they insisted "Lisa" was the best and she guaranteed me satisfying results (that if she messed up, with that $7.99 she could just grab another one and put it on till I was satisfied), I agreed. We joked a little bit how she didn't want me to hover over her while doing it and I totally know what she means and what that's like that I took a walk around a couple isles browsing other things. She was friendly and engaging up until I swiped my card. She signaled us back to the desks but immediately hands my phone to another associate to give to me and turns her back without acknowledging me as if we just talked minutes ago. I look at my phone and it was crooked and off center bad that I was like, cmon we have to redo this. The associate that it was handed to just works on it right in front of me, but bubbles couldn't get worked out and it was just getting worse. Come to find out, these glass protectors from Zagg are not as bubble free as they claim and so after just careless associates and a failed product I ask to return it...... Now long story short, the customer service girl was just as rude and even more reluctant to help me out. She claimed she could return the screen protector but would charge me still $7.99, unable to refund me the service and I was like that's insane, I'm right here and it didn't even work..... after saying it is what it is, and arguing with me, I ask for a manager. And only then does it get dealt with. All this for crap service and attitudes from some people. I won't be coming back here again. I have been in the store 6 times this month and the service has gone downhill. The dish washer would not open all the way so I told them to come and get it when I called after it was installed BB was so nasty on the phone. This Best By store is one of the worse ever. Almost everything about this store is BAD. The location, the employees, and the service are bad. Wanted to post this store awhile ago but kept forgetting. The location sucks because the store is located in one of the busiest road in Springfield, Pa. and there is only one entrance in and one entrance out. driving into the parking area is an adventure itself. You figure they might have two routes in and out the store, which they can do. The employees are not helpful and sometimes clueless about the products they are selling. This Best Buy is more like a frat house then what it supposed to be. The male employees there all swarm at the entrance to talk about whatever they talk about rather then help the customers. Sometimes they would have 8 or 10 people standing there and chit chatting and there would be 10 customers there ready to check out and one person to man the register. forget about the service they are terrible and expensive. The Geek squad service is the worse. They are more like the RIP OFF squad. don't ask the ask them how to turn on your laptop, they might charge you $50.00. The guys there are average joe s that don't know much about anything. My left pinky knows more then what they do. Trust me it is much cheaper for you to attend a technical school the ins and outs of your products then to take it to these guys. In conclusion go to Delaware Beest Buy. Down there you might be the same but at least it will be TAX free. Or you can go to the one in South Philly at least there you might get robbed heading into the store instead of getting robbed in the store buy the services. read more

I'll preface this review by saying I'm running on 28 hours without sleep and I'm especially annoyed because of that fact but this still deserved to be written up. I started my night off by coming into the store knowing exactly what product I wanted, the model and everything. I was picking up a specific pair of earphones, the apple version of them. Due to this stores ridiculous product security measures instead of picking up the product myself it's secured behind glass. When an associate finally gets over to me she then has to wait for a manager to unlock the case (excessive much?). So instead of picking up the product I'm informed she has to walk it over to the register. So I point to the placard of the exact product I want. She rings me up, no problem. I get home to find out that she gave me the android version of the product. An honest mistake, it still pissed me off though. I drove the twenty minutes back to meet the most disrespectful and unhelpful customer service representative ever. She blankly lied to me about help meeting me over at the section. I waited 15 minutes before I went out and acquired help myself. The "help" then didn't understand my issue and couldn't fathom that a product requires a different product to differ between the two operating systems. Overall I'm just pissy and tired, but I'm still very upset with this locations idea of "quality service." read more

I usually go to this BB a lot..bought many things over the years - 3 tv's, 5 laptops, blue rays, 2 DSLRs, appliances etc. Usually their service is ok. This time I went to fix my wife's cell since it was giving her some issues. When went their we saw some deals with AT&T and figured since fixing the phone would cost me some money lets look into this. Talked to the associate & she signed us up for unlimited plan. I work for a major bank & we get 25% discount on plan charge. I asked her about that and she replied that 'YES you will still get that, you just to go to AT&T store to set that up.' Didn't make sense but since she was assuring of that, we signed up for the deal. Next thing we went to AT&T, they said 'NO, you are not gonna get that, since it's an unlimited plan.' They said the only way I could get that was to downgrade my plan which will give me 1/3 of the data with almost $40 more in monthly charge. So here I am, I will have to spend about $28 more for no reason!!!! Alarming part is, I was the 2nd person in Springfield AT&T corporate office who had the same issue with this BB. I went to see the manager of that department. His name was Bob, a complete moron and disgrace! I am a Branch Manager for a Bank branch, I know how we should deal with a cust. This guy was lying on my face saying his employee will never say that! And decline to do anything! It gets better. Then I called AT&T customer care & found I was signed up for 10gb not unlimited data. I still have paperwork saying that. So I guess after I complained, they just decided to change my plan! The lady in AT&T was kind and nice and she fixed the issue. But this BB people need to be coached properly and managers need to be disciplined! But the managers kept telling us to order an Uber XL, wasn't wearing proper ppe, and kept gawking like a child. I don't question for a second that if me and my mom had been men they would have left us the hell alone instead of standing in the door way watching us like hawks. I went to the store to get a new car stereo and I was contacted by Jaime the lead installer and he gave me the needed installation kit and wiring harnesses, i asked him to be sure it was the correct one and he assured me it was, i said i live in Drain so I don't want to have to come back. I went home watched a YouTube video on removing my original stereo, how to properly remove dash etc..( his installer should have also) i removed it and I got new harnesses and went to bench, carefully connecting and shrink wrapped all connections. Went to install and it wasn't the right harness. Called Jaime and he said that it must have been a different one and he had it as well, i decided to have him install it, i said it would be a lot easier as i had everything removed. Jaime said i needed to put it back together for them to do th he job, which i thought was stupid but i did. Dropped it off and they said it would be done early afternoon. When i picked it up i had him connect the bluetooth for me then i set channels and what not. Go to leave and i noticed a crack in my dash, it wasn't broke prior to this. He said oh we take pictures of it before working on it, i said it wasn't broke. I've got no satisfaction from anyone in charge and the are sidind with employees. I said bottom line is " If i had been given the correct parts to begin with i wouldn't have ever been back complaining about it being broke , because it still would be in one peice." They broke dash ring and underneath steering wheel as well. I guess it's a matter of pride of workmanship, which i take alot in what i do. When I asked him a second time what else I could get he pointed to something and said that I guess that would work. Turned out to be totally the wrong thing. I need a new washer - bearings are shot and the refrigerator is hobbling along with a failing and noisy compressor. By Wednesday, the refrigerator, had cooled its last margarita and it was time for a new frig. I was ready to buy! This was my third appliance store stop. I can't speak to any other type of purchase here. Disappointing is my one word evaluation. Firstly, the appliance department is a bit dirty. There are a lot of floor models here and not very may new things. I didn't know what to expect, as I heard they have discounted or end-of-run items. Most of what I saw is apartment quality - who cares if it's dented or certain things are broken, it still works - kind of stuff. The saga continues.Fast forward two weeks. I purchased Vizio D-series 4K smart TV( by the way it's awesome). The sales person (Daniel R) talked me into opening a BB credit card account. The pitch was 18 months interest free and 10% rewards points for every dollar spent that I can use towards future purchase that is what sold me. The CC arrived this week and guess what? Daniel R was not forth coming, transparent and lied right to my face. The CC is interest free for only 12 moths which is cool(not really) since I will be paying for the purchase in full but the annoying part is that according to what Daniel R said I would have 70 rewards point or $70.00 toward my next purchase. Went online registered for BB rewards and I have no reward points for purchase I made 02/22/16. Then to add insult to injury BB has a choice of a BB CC or regular(for a lack of a better term) CC that can be used in any store. Did not see the comparison chart( which was at the Customer Service counter when I returned the busted TV they initially gave me) till after I picked the BB CC. Did Daniel R just blow smoke at me? YES but why? I found out he lied to me any way. I am sure Daniel R got a perk for signing me up for CC but guess what this will be short lived. I am going to use my AMEX pay off BB CC and NEVER use it again. If I close BB CC it will effect my credit rating. Hmmmm maybe not they offer free delivery for any purchase over $35.00. After getting off work I stopped in to pick up my online order from Best Buy. There's an older lady working the customer service desk and she looks for my order and gives it to me I realize that the box is torn, now naturally I wouldn't make a big deal but this was a gift for someone and I didn't want to give it to them with the box torn as if someone was in it. She calls over another employee to look in the computer to see if they have another one in stock. His name was Dan, he acted as if she was bothering him he look into the computer and said no we don't have anymore that was the last one. He then looks at me and says it's really not that bad of a tear I think whoever is receiving this GIFT will enjoy it. I told Dan this is not about who's receiving the gift this is about what I'm purchasing and I don't want to purchase a camera that cost $700 with a torn box.I'm writing my experience with one star for one employee Dan. So at this point I'm frustrated I decided to go to the area where the cameras are to see if there were more. They were stacked in a cabinet that you couldn't see-through so you couldn't tell if it was in stock without going to get the keys. so I asked another employee Rob who so graciously checked The computer and also said that it was one in stock and he also check the cabinet and there it was. Rob is definitely the kind of employee you want on your team. Dan was definitely being lazy and lied to me about the camera which I knew when he said it which is why I asked someone else. Actually this is ZERO stars from me. Purchased a Dishwasher, Microwave, Range and refrigerator. After multiple reschedules and blatant NO shows the following: 1. The person responsible ror installing the Dishwasher could not get the job done, a week later another person came and installed it. 2.Refrigerator installed but the waterline still not installed. 3.Microwave - Missing in action 4,Range - Missing in action. I paid extra for installation - poor service. The Microwave is still not installed as well as the Range and the waterline to the refrigerator. This has been going on for 3 weeks and the Customer Service people just giving you the run around. E-mail confirmations and telephone call confirming delivery and installation means nothing. Prices are good at this store but I highly advise for anyone purchasing electronics to pick up rather than have delivered. I worked with 3 employees and 2 out of the 3 didn't correctly follow with my order to make sure I walked away a happy customer. I worked with only one employee, I think may have been an assistant manager, who seemed to take pride in his job and actually try to make me walk away a satisfied customer (of which I say thank you). Wife ordered a TV and asked for delivery. Delivery never arrived, despite me wasting my valuable time waiting for it to arrive. I called customer service and they advised me to go to the store to reschedule. I went to the store and rather than reschedule a delivery I asked them to hold one aside for me to pick up the next day. I arrived the next day and my order wasn't ready. I waited an hour. Although the employees were very curious and felt bad, only one employee seemed to put forth the effort necessary to correct the issue, which quite frankly should have been done the day prior. read more

This review is specific to the Geek Squad Team that supports (haha) the Southeastern PA area. I want to state upfront that I have no issue with the actual Geek Squad technician - he was polite, prompt and thorough. THis is a systemic complaint about the schedulers and communication process. DO NOT BOTHER - JUST SAY NO TO GEEK SQUAD. My 2 month old GE dishwasher stopped working, the electric panel would freeze up and render the dishwasher inoperable. The first attempted repair was January 25; that was a true Geek Squad employee; he arrived within the 4 hour window, replaced a part but that did not repair the dishwasher. I waited 3 weeks for the next available appointment; February 10. I was given a repair window of 9 am to 1 pm. I started calling at 2 pm, wondering where the technician was. Finally, at 5 pm they told me that no one was coming and that he was out sick. Note, NO ONE called me to tell me that he wasn't coming when the schedulers knew from the beginning of the day that the repair was not going to happen. The appointment was rescheduled to February 16, window of 9 am - 1 pm. Can you guess? Can you? No one showed, no one called. I called Geek Squad at 1 pm and they stalled me again, saying the technician was in transit. At 5 pm, after repeated calls, they rescheduled for the next day, February 17, with a window of 9am - 1 pm. Finally a proper Geek Squad technician arrived and properly repaired my dishwasher. What I learned from him is that they are severely understaffed and have been using outside contractors. Fine, I get that, but the schedulers have a responsibility to TELL ME so I don't waste entire days waiting for a no-show. I spent 2 half days at home (Jan 25 and Feb 17) and 2 FULL DAYS just waiting for someone to come (Feb 10 & 16). When I asked for compensation for my wasted time (a full 24 hours if I am counting right), I was offered a $20 gift certificate from Best Buy. That is what my wasted time is worth? I expect better from a company charges a premium for supplemental service plans, aka Geek Squad. I paid $74.99 for Geek Squad and they offer me back $20 after completely failing? Stay away from this store if you're looking to buy smartphone! My story is very sad and because of the store I had a lot of hard time. I did buy two unlocked IPhones from them, with full payment in cash. No contract, no restrictions on it. I did told staff member that I travel a lot and that's why I need unlocked IPhone which can work with any carrier in any country. That's not my first iPhone, but it was the first time I get it not from the Apple store. So one week ago my daughter fly to Russia and replaced the SIM card with a Russian carrier, guess what we found out? The iPhone is locked!!! Can you believe it?! Apple in Russia can't do anything about it. AT&T said they can't unlock it because Best Bye sold me locked phone. So the manager in Best Bye from the mobile department was very ignorant and acting like what's your problem ma'am, use a WI-FI!!! Best Buy refused to solve the problem and all they offered was IOS reinstallation and cheapest prepaid phone compensation when my daughter came back with all receipts on hand.
