After a disaster with Home Depot- 1st fridge not working, 2nd fridge the delivery guys cut the cord off when taking it out of the box and dumped it in the middle of my kitchen floor, and they ran out before I realized what happened. Two months of fighting with Home Depot to make it right, while using ice coolers. I went to DVA and they had me in a new refrigerator that day. Stay away from the big box stores. I had a less than stellar experience with Home Depot while trying to purchase a new microwave. A friend suggested Delaware Valley Appliances in Springfield. What a great customer experience I had. At DVA, I purchased a larger microwave for less than Home Depot's price, including installation and 5 year warranty. The warranty with DVA starts when the 1 year manufacturer's warranty expires, 6 years total. Unlike HD, which piggy backs the first year of their extended warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty, so you're actually buying only a 4 year warranty. So, you want your $150 extended coverage to last for 4 or 6 years? Same price. Buying a large appliance today is a nightmare. After weeks of research, it was great to have the purchase and installation go so smoothly with DVA. Home Depot outsources the installation of appliances with poorly\not trained people and they didn't know how to install the microwave I purchased (over the range), and HD just threw up their hands and said, "It's a third party and we have nothing to do with them". Yeah, and it cost them a microwave purchase ($600) and any future appliance purchases ($1,500). We are definitely going to DVA for our new dishwasher. Also, let's support our local businesses, you might discover, as I did, a much better shopping experience than in the big chain stores. Thanks for reading. PS... I returned this microwave to HD, not because I didn't like it, it never left the box, but because the installers couldn't install it. But for some reason, HD decided to keep $41 of my refund. My elderly mother purchased a dryer from DVA on Baltimore pike about two years ago and has had nothing but problems with it. The dryer is not getting enough heat to dry her clothes. We called a repairman since DVA only offers a limited warranty and we're told it's the coil and the part alone cost almost $300 not including the repair cost. Now she is stuck having to buy another brand new dryer in two years. I would think twice before doing business with them. read more

I purchased a dryer from them a few months ago. I noticed there was lint everywhere. I discovered that the lint tube going into the lint holder wasn't hooked up in the back of the dryer. I called Delaware Valley Appliances and was told I would get a call Monday around 8 a.m. When I didn't get the promised call by noon, I called them and call went to voice mail. I left message requesting a call back. It is now the close of Tuesday's business day. Left messages and more messages. Still no call back. I will not be a repeat customer. I assume they are screening and refusing my calls. That is one way to handle a service call??? read more

My husband and I had a lovely start to our Independence Day when we found out our fridge was broken. My husband spent 6 hours trying to fix it and nothing was working. We called a few people and they said it's time for a new fridge. So off to DVA. Sam and his coworker whose name I didn't get were great. They really were so helpful. When I found a better price online, they let me know that they can't price match that so we ran to other store and then found out it's because they were really dented. So I called Sam and he was not only able to get the fridge but he was able to guarantee next day delivery. I was so pleased with their assistance. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because they can't price match and it honestly was no cheaper than Home Depot or Lowe's but I feel better buying from a small business so it was my choice to stick with DVA. Aside from the very early morning phone call to notify me of when the service team was coming to the house (which was a bit startling ... just a warning they call early in the morning), everything about the service at Delaware Valley Appliance was really great. Maryanne helped us to find a good deal on an appliance brand we hadn't considered, the installation person came on time and within a few days of our purchase. He was very skilled at troubleshooting issues in an old house. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly and communicated in a timely way within their team to make things work well. This was greatly appreciated as I was visiting from out of the state and trying to purchase and oversee the installation of a new appliance on behalf of my elder parent while working remotely from her home. I've lived in Delaware County all my life and purchase from this location only want to be for many years ago because I forgot they were there. Because of the pandemic I was shopping without success at many locations. Home Depot Sears Lowes and Best Buy and of course Delaware Valley appliance! There were hurdles and obstacles everywhere except Delaware Valley appliance. This was such a refreshing experience Aside from the expected preparation and cleanup after getting any new appliance I was absolutely blown away at the personality, efficiency, and general manner of the two men who brought my beautiful new refrigerator. Not only did I get a better price for my item but customer service that beat all! No fuss no Mas. They took my old refrigerator from my home and installed my new one in a much shorter time than I ever could've imagined. Because of the pandemic the packaging was unbelievable! "Sometimes your luck runs out" was what the poorly trained repair man said about Delaware Valley Appliance when I said I had been so happy with them for forty years. I had called for service for my oven' s thermostat. After tossing his dirty bag on my counter, he turned on my oven. That was the extent of the work done by the man. He told me he'd order one piece of the oven and ,if it wasn't that problem, he'd order another. He had no thermometer with him even though that was specifically what I had requested. His disrespectful manner the entire time made me feel afraid to not pay him the $69.95 - for my safety sake. I have called (4 times) and actually stopped by the Baltimore Pike location asking for a refund, yet "Big Don" has cashed my check and not returned my phone call. STAY AWAY! read more

We've spent thousands of dollars on appliances here. Most recently we purchased a GE dishwasher from them last August. The installation was a fiasco: First they brought us a badly damaged unit. Three days later the same crew arrived and took forever to complete the installation. They were obnoxious: Loud, full of opinions, and slow moving. We chalked it all up to a blip. After all, Delaware Valley was our "go to" appliance store for over a decade. Well, that same dishwasher just failed. GE won't send a repair person until May 9th. I called to see what DVA could do for us and the rude, snippy saleswoman told me she could send GE an email. What? These people used to service what they sell but not any more. Delaware Valley Appliances has been a TREMENDOUS DISAPPOINTMENT. I recently purchased a LG stainless steel refrigerator and microwave. AS IT TURNS OUT, BOTH ITEMS WERE DEFECTIVE! The refrigerator doors do not close properly and the microwave was severely damaged right out of the box. I was told by Donald, there is nothing they are willing to do. Donald's henchmen dropped the appliances off, not even taking the time to exam the box for damage. Since I wasn't home at the time of inspection, the damage wasn't discovered until my installer arrived and opened the microwave box. Once YOU discover the damage, they claim it isn't their responsibility? Please don't waste your time and money at Delaware Valley Appliances, you too will be scammed! Deleware Valley Appliances are snakes in the grass. We purchased a (factory reject) , floor model GE Dishwasher because the new models were "soldout". When it took forever to get it delivered, the damn thing's pumps were hanging out from their clips. Then when we hooked it up, the left top of the housing leaked severely. The owner was trying to "replace the dishwasher with another brand" after we called in a complaint. Then we settled for a repair, because a replacement wasn't possible until late May(covid). So there is when our troubles began. 2 months of hell, and trying to call GE on our own after a replacement never happened. We kept getting one broken dishwasher after another. It wasn't until we called the Attorney General did we get action. Not once were we offered any refund. Never again will we purchase another GE. read more

No After-Sale Customer Care I recently had to replace my old refrigerator. I just wanted an 18 cu. ft. which is what I had. The model on the computer said 17 cu. ft. but the salesman assured me it was an 18 cu. ft. Well, it isn't! Also, there were marks on the freezer door and refrigerator door when the tape was removed. I immediately called and also sent pictures of the marks. I must have called five or more times only to be told first, that they would replace the doors. That never happened. Then, they were going to send someone out with touch-up paint to cover the marks. That also never happened. I finally contacted GE directly and they helped resolve the problem. Will think twice before returning here to purchase another appliance. read more

Visited: Monday - May 2, 2016 - 2 PM It was time to replace my 33 year old dishwasher. I drove to Appliance Difference in Drexel Hill where I've purchased several appliances. The store was empty; out of business. I consulted Yelp and found Delaware Valley Appliances in Springfield Pa. I immediately drove there. The parking lot was small. The store is a converted house and overly packed with all forms of household appliances. The dishwashers were stacked side to side as I walked inside. The two employees were busy with customers. I waited maybe five minutes until an employee finished. She greeted me and showed the dishwashers. The employee found an internet description of one the dishwashers which included a rebate. SOLD! I requested delivery on Wednesday. She accepted my request and stated that the delivery would be between 9AM - 12PM . When I arrived home, I re-consulted Yelp. Three of three reviews were poor. Two of three were particularly disturbing. One review complained that the delivery did not occur within the three hour window. The other review indicated that the dishwasher was not level or properly installed into a pre-built slot. Alarmed, I called the salesperson and reported the poor yelp reviews. She promised the "window" delivery and the "best" dishwasher installer. The dishwasher was delivered by two men within the three hour window and installed without problems. The old dishwasher was removed from my home. I have a dryer left by the previous owner that is approximately 40 years old. When it's time to replace the dryer, I'll know where to shop. read more

Need to call multiple times over 3 weeks to get a call back. I was charged 350 for an install that 1. Wasn't done correctly and 2. Never competed. I had to call multiple times over 4 days with no call back. They didn't come as promised to finish the install the following business day - that I paid for - They then said they would take the washer and dryer back since I wasn't happy which doesn't make any sense. Excellent service for a washer purchase. I called late afternoon the day before New Years Eve to ask about a particular model of washer. Not only did they have it in stock, they delivered it the next morning, less than 24 hours later! (I am local). I could not have asked for faster delivery; and the purchase was completed over the phone when I called. The delivery people were polite and careful. The washer has been great so far. I had never purchased from this business before; but I recommend them based on this experience. However, I have since learned that the business has apparently recently changed hands and service has been a problem for some customers. That is not good. After waiting 3 extra weeks for our appliances to be delivered, the delivery men damaged our walls and railings, and the owner would not take responsibility. We had to pay for a painting company to come back and repaint our walls and railings and the owner completely ignored us and did not own up to the hundreds of dollars we lost from their damage. We purchased a range from Home Depot. After Home Depot repeatedly failed to deliver it when promised, we looked for another vendor and found Delaware Valley Appliances. We subscribe to Checkbook and the ratings there were great for both price and service. I called late in the afternoon of December 30 and the range was delivered on December 31 about 12:30. The service was fantastic. The deliverymen installed the range, removed all of the tape and styrofoam, set the clock, cleaned up a few things on the floor and even advised how to run the oven for a bit to burn off the factory coating. In addition, they moved a bookcase out of the way to allow access and then put it back in place. This team, Mike and his colleague were terrific. The salesperson Marianne was also most helpful. My experience with Delaware Valley Appliances located in Springfield Pa was AWFUL, HORRIFIC, DISGUSTING, DISGRACEFUL & UMPROFESSIONAL! I was lied to and scammed by this company. I purchased a LG refrigerator and microwave. I have had nothing but problems with both appliances which the company has declined any responsibilities. The LG refrigerator doors do not close properly, constantly popping open at various times. The company response: (NORMAL operation). The owner of this company is an absolute disgrace as a man. I paid for his company to come out and see what was wrong with my dryer. They found a clog , fixed it - but didn't bother to check the exhaust hose. They rattled it so much it ended up falling off without my knowledge so that every time I ran my dryer carbon monoxide was being released into my basement. ( gas dryer) When I called to have them fix it and to request a refund because they didn't do a proper job in the first place, the owner yelled at me. He told me 'I didn't know what I was talking about, there's no carbon monoxide from dryers '. He laughed at me and yelled at me and refused to give any kind of refund. Hiring this company could actually be dangerous considering they don't even check for carbon monoxide leaks - you're putting your family in danger. This man should be ashamed of himself. read more

I had the worst experience with a local chain retailer. It took 2 weeks for my appliance to get delivered and when it was finally delivered it was the wrong product . Delaware Valley Appliance was recommended to us by a friend and I called and spoke with Maryanne who was so helpful over the phone and in the store . We had our appliance delivered and hooked up the next day. I love my new oven and the price was fantastic. The staff is very knowledgeable about everything they sell unlike the big retail stores. I have purchased all of my applicances at this store. Most recently, I purchased a freezer, dryer and washer. Prior years I felt I received fair prices and good service. However, the recent deliveries from this store were horrible. My freezer was installed with a large gash down the side (failed to remove door jam) and the owner wanted to take off $50. The delivery personnel pushed the freezer up against the wall. the location looked odd to me. I moved it out and saw the gash. The installers appeared to be hiding the damage. The owner did replace the item. This was not a scratch, it was a large, indented gash down teh entire side of the freezer. Joe, the owner was annoyed that he had to replace the freezer and "didn't make anything off of it". Seems that is his employees fault, not mine. Everyone makes mistakes. So, I continued to do business with them. The next item I purchased was a dryer. They were more careful getting the appliance in the home. However, when they installed it, they knocked off a leg of the wash basin. It caused the basin overflow. I had to hire a plumber over the weekend to fix it, not to mention we had to clean up the mess. The ownder did reimburse for the minor plumbing expense but it took many weeks to receive the payment. He said he wasn't paying for it, the employees would have it deducted from their paychecks. I liked the fact this store was local and family owned. Either ownership changed or they changed their attitude. I just purchased a refrigerator - playing it safe this time. I went to Home Depot! Free delivery and haul away. read more

purchased a range delivered in time frame that was given however the installation was horrible I was assured that it was level and all was a go and that wasn't true the whole range moved and not level called in my own service person and he was appalled the range was not attached to an anti tipping bracket that was already there from the last range and it was not leveled two of the feet on the range were bent and one of these were stripped my service person had to use shims to correct the problems and also attached the range to the anti tipping device I called Delaware Valley in reference to this and received no satisfaction. Recently purchased washer and dryer from here. They tried to deliver the appliances before the time specified on my order and never called my cell phone prior to coming to my home as was clearly indicated on my order. When I called the store, as I was directed to do, I spoke with the female manager. She was unprofessional and rude. She screamed and ranted for several minutes until I insisted on speaking with someone else. I chose to purchase from this small local organization but I can not recommend them based on the treatment I suffered at the hands of the manager. I like to shop local and buy local and so when my 20+ year refrigerator bit the dust, we went on to the Delaware Valley Appliance website to see what models they carried. They carry all the major manufacturers, but due to the small store, they may not have all models out on display. So we purchased a new refrigerator and when it was delivered, the delivery men started to take it out of the box, stopped and immediately informed my wife that it was damaged and showed her the damage. The delivery man immediately telephoned Delaware Valley Appliance to get us a replacement, which was delivered the next day. This was a professional and pleasant company to work with from sales through delivery and I cannot say enough good things about them. I will continue to purchase appliances from them. read more
