I could've diagnosed that myself. He promised to get me an estimate on making changes to the system so that the problem would be resolved. After a few few weeks of not hearing from them, I called and got the owner on the phone. He said that they were looking into it and that they would get back to me with an estimate for the work. It is now been three months. Radio silence. I'm not impressed, I won't use them, and I recommend you don't either.

Moving forward they also recommended a preventive maintenance service to keep the new compressor and other parts of the unit healthy and running strong. I brought in two other companies to look at my issues and they made it sound like complete doom and gloom. 70 year old cast iron pipes don't bode well, but the quotes they gave me for PVC replacements were outlandish. Then the folks at Walsh Brothers came in, gave me a reasonable quote, and fixed pretty much all of my serious plumbing issues. The pipes even look good! All it took was for someone to get a little creative with the layout of my house and figure out an alternative solution, which they were able to do. Three months later and my plumbing is doing just fine. I'm super happy I chose Walsh Brothers because I feel I was treated with respect (i.e. not gouged for money) and my issues were fixed quickly and efficiently.

I tried to urge him to look at the other problems, but he declined, saying that he was not familiar with my brand of fixture hardware; and, thus, he could not investigate. The brand is actually called "California Faucets" and I would think a plumber, worth his credentials, would be able to deal with just about any clogging issue. Apparently not. So, now I have to hire another plumber to get my sink and tub drains flowing freely. Lesson learned: Be skekptical of a plumbing company's advertising! Thus, the 2.8 current quality rating via Yelp. P.S. As an aside, I asked the plumber about his newish battery-operated device that extended as far as six feet into a toilet and effectively (after a few tries) blasted through the obstruction in the piping. He told me it was very expensive, costing around $400...enough to discourage a homeowner from purchasing one, but encouraging the homeowner to call a plumber. I looked into buying such and found out that it really sells for around $100, definitely worth the price to a homeowner.

He found a few issues with the system and replaced the refrigerant. The unit started to work again. About 30 hours later, the same problem occurred. Steve found a leak in the system and worked with his manager to locate the part. Unfortunately, the part was back-ordered. There was no target date for our unit to be repaired. The day this occurred, the temperatures went to 100 degrees. Not willing to wait or to put more money into the problem, we contacted Rob who put together a quote and sent it to us in about 2 hours. I ask him when he needed to know the model we wanted to install, and he told us by the next morning at 8: 00 am. My husband and I called Rob's mobile phone at 8:00 am. We told him that we expected that the HVAC unit would be installed by end of business that day. Much to my surprise, Rob said that the two units we were interested in were available locally. Not only that, he said that he pulled two guys from a new construction installation, and if I looked out my window, I would see two trucks outside waiting for him to tell them to come to our door to begin to dismantle the existing unit. I quickly went to our front window and they were there! Wow, now that was impressive! Not only that, Rob stopped at the distribution center on his way to the office and was at the site to pick up the unit that we decided on! Also pretty impressive. The installation was flawless. The repairman we had from Gowen's told us that he checked everything on the washer and that the drum on the washer was cracked, specifically stating there was no issue with the water valve. Before we scrapped it and bought a new one we called a different repairman that was LG certified and he quickly diagnosed it with a broken valve, which he easily replaced, and now the washer is back to new. Had we not called for a second opinion we would've wasted hundreds of dollars on replacing the drum or buying a new washer based on the Gowen's repairman's wrong recommendation. not a happy customer.

I have had these guys out here 4 different times and have gotten 4 different diagnosis. They came out in May and replaced my AC blower. Then when it was still not blowing cool air in June, I had them come out for a cleaning. They clean the system and then a month later it's not blowing cool air again. So they come out and tell me I need a new system. I rejected this so I had them come out a 4th time to do a full system diagnostic. I thought I was getting that with the clean I paid for a month earlier. I would have thought that would be the first thing they would do. Well...after the diagnostic, I come to find out that the whole problem was a dirty filter. I never replaced it. I swore I did, but I guess I messed up. I am not the professional though. The professionals should have caught this on day 1 when they replaced the blower motor. Or at least, they definitely should have figured this out when doing the cleaning in June. I honestly believe that they were just trying to make me feel like my AC was beat so that they could sell me a new system. The neglect doesn't just stop at not replacing or even taking notice of the filter, it gets worse. After the 4th service call last week, I go down the basement and noticed that the air filter is the wrong size by several inches. I ended up having to pay that guy 13$ for the filter. If it's 13$ it should fit right. You think they could of tossed that in after they kept screwing me, but no. The real funny thing was that they didn't even bother to clean the air intake. It was so caked and matted with dust and b.s. that hardly any air can pass through to the machine. How was this not a part of the cleaning. They also wanted to charge me an additional 6 hundred to clean dirty coils and interior parts. I am confused as to why this would be separate from the original cleaning and why was I not told about this before. never the less, tech #4 showed me pictures of the inside of my dirty system. So either that wasn't part of the original cleaning or it wasn't done properly in June. I will tell you that I am excited to not need a new system just yet. It is nearing its time but it truly feels that this company was just trying to speed up the process. I am including a picture of the dirty intake vent. Am I supposed to clean that myself? Really, I'm asking an honest question ? Should that be part of a system clean? If so, your technicians aren't working thoroughly. If not, then at the very least, take notice and tell me about the problem. I even emailed them a picture of this vent that was left like this. They tire of me because they already got my money.
