Polarizing customer service experiences within a 24-hour period. On 7/6/24 I had one of the worst (if not the worst) customer service encounters I've ever experienced, in particular with the manager on duty. The issue remained unresolved, so unfortunately my only option was to reluctantly return to the store today (7/7/24). However, different people were working today, including a different store manager... they were all friendly, efficient, and helpful. They understood the issue, took responsibility for the error, and resolved it. Easy peasy. Jekyll & Hyde of customer service. Yesterday's experience was bad enough to make me want to avoid Best Buy entirely, but today's experience redeemed the store enough to not permanently write them off. After delivering a product missing items for the final install, we have been waiting months for Best Buy to get it together and get their third-party contractors aligned to finish this order. I am shocked by the lack of follow-through and leadership by their management team and especially the delivery group. Pointing fingers to third-party vendors is not my problem. Went in to buy a computer, bought an expensive one arranged with geek squad to come a week later and they never did. In fact they said they couldn't come for 3 weeks. Went into the store dealt with a couple of the managers and Said they could absolutely do nothing so I returned everything and went on to A store I could trust, staples. The prices here are somewhat competitive, but they also advertise a price match policy that they do everything in their power to not honor. I was purchasing a water filter for my Samsung refrigerator and showed them that Amazon had it for almost $10 less. They quoted obscure rules about it not actually coming from Amazon, but instead coming from a third party retailer using Amazon's distribution services and therefore they couldn't price match. When I asked why they wouldn't price match anyway since it was still a lower priced retailer, they stated that this retailer was not one of their listed competitors for the price match. So they do not honor their price match policy. The prices here are not any better than any other local chain retailers such as Home Depot or Lowe's, so since they don't honor their price match policy, there's no reason to shop here. read more

We've had good experience in this Best Buy before. When we bought a range, the salesclerk was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Tonight, however, trying to buy a microwave and a range-hood, we spent ten minutes looking for -anyone- to help us and when we finally found a clerk he acted like speaking to us was an annoyance. He told us, with a sneer, that he didn't know anything about appliances but maybe he could find someone who did. He went off and we never saw him or anyone else again. Horrible cutomer service w/ misleading practices. Infuriating experience at Best Buy where they, after telling me prior to purchase that they would help with my setup, refused to help me set up my new phone once the payment was done. They moved my sim card, but nothing else to get photos and contacts. I was then told I'd then have to schedule an appointment, and pay an additional $40 for help with the data transfer for thr brand new android I had just bought from them. I spoke with the manager who was abrasive, rude and dismissive. I was treated as though I was being completely unreasonable for expecting the service I was told would be provided. The "manager" then proceeded to trash talk Verizon customer service AS he refused any customer service on the new phone he had just sold. Went across the road to Verizon where Patrick courteously and professionally helped me with my new phone even though I hadn't bought it from him. Thank you, Patrick! Skip Best Buy, go to Verizon. I ordered a washer and dryer on 9/22, it was scheduled to be delivered on 10/28, they did not have the dryer so it was rescheduled for 11/16. They could not deliver due to snow, their issue not mine, but the next possible delivery date was today, 12/16. This date was given to me after many conversations with multiple levels of people. Well today, again it is not here due to snow. I understand the snow issue, but not making an available delivery date within a few business days is unacceptable. I cannot even rate my appliances since I do not have them, so here's hoping they are good. Price is good, service not so much! read more

After a long day of work, I turned on my 12-year old SONY WEGA TV at 8:00pm to find that the bulb blew. :-( I then decided that it was time to replace versus buy a bulb online and hope for "another few years" game. Best Buy had a great deal online for on a 4K 55" Sony and for an extra $14, they would take my old one away and I had free delivery for TODAY. So I jumped at it. They called first thing this morning to see if they could arrive a bit earlier than expected and I agreed, eager to setup the new toy. They were fast, polite and kind. I am not a fan of having to wait for a purchased product to be delivered. After purchasing a recumbent exercise bike I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks for delivery. I received many warnings from Best Buy to have my home all cleared out so that the bike could be delivered. I took the day off from work because the time frame for delivery was between 7am- and 7 pm. The night before I received an email that it would now be delivered between 2pm-6pm the next day. At 10am the date of delivery I received a call saying the driver never showed and it will be 2 more weeks until my delivery can be made. That is 5 weeks since they took my money on my credit card. I am furious that my money was charged to my card 5 weeks before said delivery. I don't know that it will even be delivered then. I will never purchase anything from Worst Buy again and will tell everyone that I come in contact with how poor of customer service they have. I have already lost more money taking the day off from work then I saved. Save your time and patients and make your purchase elsewhere. This place is horrible to deal with. The Management really doesn't care as long as they get there money!! I don't typically shop here, as what I shop for is usually available at a local GameStop, however, I made the decision to preorder a boxed collectible figure as it was cheaper through Best Buy store-pickup. I went the day it was set to release to see if I could pick up my item, and the employees had no idea what I was talking about. No big deal, the next day my item was available. When I arrived to pick up my item, there was a post-it note attached to the back of the box with my name on it. Didn't assume much, figured that this was normal for pre-orders and bagged the item and brought it to my car. I wasn't able to set the item up in my display until the week later, and once I removed the post-it note from the back of my item, I was extremely disappointed to find that it was hiding the cut mark that was cut into my box. Typically this wouldn't be an issue, but because it was 1) a preorder and 2) a collective figurine, boxes are important. This was extremely unfortunate and unprofessional to deliberately hide the cut mark with the note. If I ever need to preorder something again, it will be online and I will pay the extra $5 in shipping. read more

I would give them zero stars but that isn't an option. I ordered a refrigerator on January 11, (close to a month ago) as mine was on its way out. The earliest date they could deliver and install was Feb. 7, today. I took work off, spending 2+ hours to prepare for my absence. The text from weeks ago and last week was that the window was 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Yesterday a new text said the window was 2-6. "Make sure to complete all prep and track your status here." Works for me. This morning, I get the same text at 6:53 a.m. At 1:30, I empty the barely working freezer and refrigerator and move furniture so the move of one in and one out easier. At 3:16 this afternoon I get a call, saying they could not make delivery and I needed to reschedule. I'm boiling mad. I speak to a woman who says the only thing she can do is move it to the "Leadership Team," who would call me back in 2-4 hours. They don't. I call Best Buy back and speak to Randy, who doesn't even know what the Leadership Team is! I am LIVID! I will not take any more days off from work...my food is sitting outside where atleast it's cold tonight...but I can't account for animals getting into it. The temps will warm tomorrow and my food will spoil. And then I have a mess to take care of. I would NEVER recommend Best Buy for installation and delivery services. Untrustworthy. read more

Ryan hooked me up with a Subaru remote starter. First, he went far out of his way to ensure that I received the best possible deal, while still understanding the product itself. He took his time, was clear and honest, and patiently answered the long list of questions I had along the way. He even honored a black friday system faux-pas that occurred due to my Credit Card's zip code. Happy customer. When it came to scheduling the install day, the job became longer and the slot was too short for the install itself. He went above and beyond here, working on my car between other installs to fit me into the one day a week that I had to facilitate the install. Finally, Ryan was just an all-around nice guy. The car since has been working well, the install seems outstandingly successful, I went back in and removed panels to look at the quality of work, and I'd tell you it's all there - he did a great job. About 30 minutes later, the website stated an e-mail had been sent to me with the download instructions. Wrong. I used the Chat option to get help. They were useless. It's obvious they are taught how to sympathize with the customers but not get anything done. After 3 hours and 4 Chats, I still had no confirmation e-mail nor any download instructions. I was told to call an 888 number for assistance. First person hung up on me. I tried again and was given a load of crap and lies. I finally called the company that makes the program and they stated Best Buy screwed up big time. The order was never sent to them to complete. He managed to get the problem fixed in 5 minutes. Best Buy sucks the big one. Don't buy any digital digital downloads from the company. You'll never get them. They have lost my business for good. read more

I am in need of updating this review! It's been a long time. Plus I shop here every now and then through out the year. Mainly for accessories for my phone or just the small needs for the office! As far as what I do buy they seem pretty helpful to point me in the right direction. Working in the IT field I rarely have any real questions on how things work. So I can not comment on their skills. However they do have good skills with installing the Zagg IS on all of my devices for me! So far they have installed one one my Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One and Palm Pre back in the day! All came out pretty good. Not perfect mind you! But good. I just hate putting them on. The downfall at Best Buy really are their prices. In this day and age why pay more when I can go to Amazon and order it with free shipping? Plus on average its about 20% cheaper and in some cases even more! Best Buy will price match Amazon's web site now. So if your in the market for anything do some price checks as it will be worth your time. But sense the price match is such a hassle at times...I only buy little things. Like my Zagg IS and maybe a mouse or 2. I end up spending about 10 minutes telling the cashier and showing them the sale VIA my smart phone and its all most like pulling teeth sometimes. Not trying to bring them down or anything. But for this reason I don't come here to often. So there you have it. Best Buy isn't a bad place to shop just depends on how much time you got to waste! Periodically, I'll venture into Best Buy for something techy. Against all instincts, I have become Older Guy Who Doesn't Understand Technology and so whereas in the past, I knew exactly what I wanted and appreciated never being bothered by a customer service rep, now I need assistance and can never track down a) an employee who b) knows anything. On three separate consecutive occasions, I walked into Best Buy for 10 minutes and walked out empty-handed, having never been helped. I could have asked for help, sure, but I'm stubborn. Anyway, one long-winded paragraph in and the lack of assistance isn't actually why I'm writing this review. My wife and I recently bought a computer from Best Buy. We did so because the price was pretty damn good and it was pretty damn good because it was a floor model. But it wasn't "have to buy it" good. We debated long and hard about the price. After about 10 minutes, an employee came up to us and we talked to him about the model. We asked for a slightly better deal and he called his manager over. And this brings us to the reason for this review. The manager said he would knock 10% off but he couldn't offer us our asking price. We said "but it's a floor model and obviously no one wants to buy it. We're doing you a favor." He said "This one has only been on the floor for 2-3 months. We sell about 4 floor models a year. When this one sells, we'll just get another one." He said that the 1-year factory warranty would be from the day we bought the computer. Wanting the computer, we took the 10% and bought the computer. And then after purchasing the computer, when we were nearly out the door, another employee said the floor model would not be replaced because it was a discontinued model. And then when we set up the computer at home, we received a notification that our warranty would expire in 2 months. And then we realized the floor model was actually 10 months old. In the end, we got a great deal on a great computer. We spent less money at Best Buy than we would have spent elsewhere. But we were flat-out lied to about three different things. So go to Best Buy, save money, deal with shady managers, and then go home to take a shower. You'll need it. read more

They told us that it would be delivered and then a plumber would come to install it Two guys in a rusty van showed up and said they were The installers but could not do the water hook up because they were not plumbers. Great TV and audio selection. Gaming is top-notch for variety. The company has gotten it right....after converting the staff to commissions, they have put an equal balance of education and knowledge with the staff to serve us consumers professionally and not over pressure the sale. After pacing awkwardly around the store I returned to the section and made eye contact with the rep who proceeded to hold his hand up to his ear, seemingly pretending to talk to a coworker.
