I don't know how this place stays in business. Walked in asking for help upgrading the factory sub in my 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio within the same form factor and keeping the factory infotainment controls. Guy behind the counter looked annoyed and immediately says "you probably can't do that." Interesting because I researched a couple 'upgrading the factory stereo' options in the online forums for my car beforehand and had a few options and plans with me ready to go. He then asked what the car was and shrugged his shoulders when I told him. I walked out. I next contacted Capital Car Audio in Epsom, NH. They had a proposal within a day to do exactly what I wanted at price I was happy with. I drove 2.5 hours to NH and waited 5 hours while they did the work. I'm glad I did. It was totally worth the drive and wait for the expert, knowledgable, and friendly service. I had a system installed in a new 4Runner out west. Just moving to Burlington, I needed some help tracking down gremlins causing some issues that popped up with sound and sound distribution. I booked an appointment, and was in and out in just under an hour. Super helpful, and rebalanced/corrected wiring as needed. When time permits, heading back to upgrade some component speakers. I had an excellent experience at Creative Sound. I went in a week after Christmas and stock was a bit low. Adrian helped me pick an Alpine car stereo deck that was in the perfect price range and had all of the amenities I needed and more (USB support !) I have been to Best Buy in the past, but as a Vermont native, I'll be headed back to Creative Sound to support local from now on. read more

This place is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not just once, but over 2 years. I have control 4 in my house. So when something goes wrong these guy need to be contacted from lights to cable tv. It's almost laughable how rude they are EVERYTIME we call. They don't get back to us for at least a week. And when your TV is not working this is really annoying. I finally found someone else who can service the system. I am so shocked they are still in open and operating. read more

I actually cannot believe anyone would give this company 4 stars. I had an appointment set, i called day before and they forgot to order my parts. They kept trying get more money out of me by telling me i had to swap out all of my speakes which did not need to be done. The salesman tech installer said he had done a ton of cars like mine but he knew nothing about the vehicle or the correct install. Buyer beware creative sound are scam artists. read more

Spent a lot of money with them installing a Control4 automation system. To get on-going service and support is impossible. 5 tries and no response. Even got Chris on the phone and he said Ed would call me back. Still nothing! They just don't get that support is key because you become dependent on these systems and when you have issues you need their help. read more

Had aftermarket stereo system installed today at C.S. in Williston and they did a terrific job. They fit me in well before the big box store could and their work at $75.00 per hour (took one hour) was less expensive. The gentleman took the time afterwards to synch my phone and give me a tour of the controls. They did not seem to mind at all that I purchased my aftermarket system and harness etc. on line. I would go back in a minute if I had further work they could do. There is a reason these smaller, local shops stay in business. read more

I completely agree with Ally B's review. These guys used to be a decent shop years ago. I had been a satisfied customer and purchased a couple of nice sound systems from them. But in recent years, the service mentality there as completely eroded. We recently purchased a new home and after multiple attempts (over several months) to get someone to call us back about a potential in-home sound system installation (which would likely have been multiple thousands of dollars), we gave up. They don't call back and are consistently apathetic in the store. In fact, it's a downright bad attitude, which is inexplicable for a tiny shop trying to survive. I would expect them not to be in business for a whole lot longer. Save yourself the frustration, and find another shop with a stronger service mentality and overall business model. read more

GREAT customer service here. I got a backup camera installed late last year on a license plate frame. A few months later, the state of VT changed the rules about these frames and my car couldn't pass inspection. It wasn't really Creative Sound's fault at all, but they researched the new rule, ordered a different model of backup camera for me at their own cost, and reinstalled it - all for free. Can't speak to the home entertainment side of things, but Adrian and the car-audio side is as good as it gets. read more

FANTASTIC SERVICE! We had a high end Control 4 system installed in our 100+ year old home this summer, and it's absolutely wonderful. Creative Sound not only gave us "lessons" on how to use the system, they installed it on all our phones and are available for troubleshooting whenever a problem arises. We love being able to turn the lights off from our phones (in fact, we rarely use the switches any more), love the convenience of controlling the AC and heat remotely, and all our television are on the same network, which is great for recording shows. (Our family also uses TiVo, which very few cable installers are familiar with--Creative Sound knows TiVo inside and out.) You don't find this level of service in many stores nowadays. We cannot recommend Creative Sound more highly! read more
