This time, it was pricey for what I had done and my carpet was soaking wet still an hour later with 2 fans running over the larger area. It was $169.00 with tax. That didn't include a tip and I always try to do that for a service, so I tipped separately. They cleaned the stairs (15) and an upstairs living area of mainly the open area and the walkways leading to that area. There was furniture in the room and they cleaned around it. After about an hour with the fans on and AC lowered to help dry, I got my wet/dry vac and sucked out more water/moisture and then got out the super big fan. In all, I had 4 fans running over the areas all night and they are finally drying. The carpet is older but still, it shouldn't have been soppy wet like that. Not sure if I will use them again. May need to find a different cleaning method with less water.

Carpet was cleaned and after that procedure was done, the tech sprayed a "protectant" down, I have yet to find out what this chemical is exactly. My wife called and spoke to Rachel, who assured her whatever was placed on the carpet was then extracted by the machine, HOWEVER, that's not true. I watched the tech spray something from a bottle and then proceed to rake the carpet, nothing was then "extracted" nor was the machine run over the carpet again. After the tech left, our dog became extremely nauseous, lethargic and struggling to breathe. We had to take her to an emergency veterinarian, after a series of tests, including all types of blood work, was able to determine she came in contact with some type of irritant or poison. We were there for close to 9 hours! This is a healthy 5-year-old dog who JUST had her bi-annual checkup last week. I called the next day and had Rachel call me back, told her the situation and only then, did she back-peddle on what she initially told my wife about this product being extracted back up because I told her I watched the tech spray it on and left it. She tells me this protectant is safe for pets, but when I asked for the MSDS sheet on this product, she tells me she will email it to me. Well, a whole day has gone by and guess what? NO EMAIL. These sheets should be readily available. Finally, a day and a half later, I finally get the SDS on this product and it's classified as a "Hazardous Chemical" per OSHA and causes irritation when breathed in or ingested, which this tech sprayed from a bottle, in mist form, 5-6 feet away from me and my pet in an unventilated room. Nowhere on these sheets sent does it say "safe for pets or children" as they claim. I called OSHA and the manufacturer, and both agreed this should not be applied anywhere close to people or animals and only is it really safe after it has dried. At no time did this tech tell us to stay off the carpet for X amount of time, or we would have done that. If you're a pet owner and love your pet like we do ours, then you can imagine the stress and anguish it was watching her struggle like she was, not knowing really what her outcome will be. I emailed this company to let them know what the product they use has done and the cost of our vet bill, which again, have had no response. So, if you have pets, or children for that matter, do not use this company. Only in it for the almighty dollar and could care less what damage they do. It took one month to get an estimate completed for repairs needed. The mitigation and pack out employees were super nice though. Professional and highly personable. I loved those guys. One employee was very hostile and extremely rude towards me when I was just asking questions about getting a repair estimate for my claims adjuster to see what needed to be paid. I also was told that a bill was overdue when it literally came to me the day before. The charges were outrageous for pack out materials. I feel like I made a poor decision choosing them. If customer service employees in accounts receivable (one employee in particular) were not bullying and hostile and the various departments actually communicated, I wouldn't have regretted my decision to use them. Due to the porosity of clay tile, it can very easily be ruined by the wrong type of cleaning and sealant application. It's a job for professionals. And folks who specialize in this type of tile are hard to find. I found Tyler and his company, Seal Systems through Yelp and called them for an estimate. I was pleased to learn this is ALL they do. They specialize in natural clay tile restoration. Tyler's dad even created a proprietary cleaning solution to address the potential issues of stripping off old sealer. On Day 1, they showed up and stripped the tile on their hands and knees. No machines, just two guys working their a$$es off. On Day 2, the sealant went down, four coats in total (I believe) were spread. (I prefer the high-gloss Saltillo). The tile looks gorgeous. The patina is still there but the whole room has a new life. I love the way it turned out - 100% exceeded my expectations (because old tile restoration can be hit or miss.) If you have clay tile that needs some TLC - hire these guys. They are professional, responsible, dependable, and know what the heck they're doing. Also - family owned business...that's a good thing.

I showed him exactly what I wanted done, he gave me a fair price, and I decided to move forward. Two days later, he sent one of his technicians to complete the work. The technician did an excellent job, and I am very happy with the final result. I debated between leaving a 4-star or 5-star review for one reason only. The appointment window was scheduled between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM. When 12:05 PM arrived and no one had shown up or contacted me, I sent a text message. The owner replied that the technician should arrive within 35 minutes, but it ended up being about an hour and a half later before he arrived. That said, once he got there, he was polite, professional, and did outstanding work. He spoke very little English, but that didn't matter to me because the quality of his work spoke for itself. So, it's 5 stars for the technician who completed the job and 4 stars for the office communication. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work and would use Grout Hero again.
