in almost every Chinese takeout I go to I order vegetable rice and I always ask for extra vegetables. When I ordered it at best cook I got yellow rice with onions and peas. There were no other vegetables in the rice whatsoever! Now I have never seen this before and I was not very happy considering I paid a dollar extra for extra "vegetables. Terrible ughhhh!! Horrible General Tso's Chicken..little bits of chicken with mostly coating and the taste was awful! The Crab Rangoon had hardly anything in them and no sauce served with it. Fried Scallops had a very small piece of scallop in a fried little disc no taste. All the food was cold and tasteless! Even the rice and egg rolls were not that good. The food is delicious although I had to figure out how I was going to eat it. There was no plastic silverware or otherwise (no chopsticks either), no soy sauce, & no duck sauce. I tried Best Cook for the first time the other day. We called our food in ahead of time and went to pick it up. The food was ready on time and the workers were nice. Honestly this place puts all other places to shame. I am a college student and when I am on campus, the food options are pretty limited. I'll often order the same thing every time so when I get to the other places I can't help but think about Best Cook's version. The quality and care put into the food and customer service is just amazing. That said, I have been a long time customer (10+ years) and have noticed the changes in management and employees and I can say that the quality of customer service has dropped slightly over the past 2 years. When I used to feel like a friend picking up my food, I am now becoming just another order. Perhaps it's due to me attending college, but I was hoping the service would remain more or less the same. Since you've made it this far, here are the gold star items on the menu that I haven't encountered better versions of for the price. Steamed dumplings Egg rolls General Tso's Chicken Shrimp with Broccoli Beef with Broccoli Crab Rangoons Sweet and Sour Chicken Shrimp/Vegetable Lo Mein Shrimp/Vegetable Chao Mei Fun The meat in the dumplings and wontons are absolutely perfect, I've yet to have another Chinese food place even come close. The issue I always have anywhere else is that the dough around the meat tends to be way to thick and chewy, the worst part being that it usually doesn't taste like anything extra. At Best Cook the dumplings are handmade with fairly thin dough and the perfect blend of meats and veggies. These things are a godsend, truly. Only suggestion I would make is to develop the recipe for a vegetarian version of the dumplings, as that market is yet to be tapped into. I can't begin to say enough about this place. Best Cook seriously holds true to being the Best Cooks for the cuisine type and price in this area. Definitely go here instead of where you were thinking for tonight. read more

Don't be fooled by the "furnishings" - this little restaurant has amazing, delicious food. Chicken and broccoli is my favorite and they do this perfectly. Great dumplings, egg rolls, etc. The wait time is usually a little longer, especially on a Friday evening, but it's definitely worth waiting for! read more

Stopped in tonight to get supper for my wife and I. Out my order in, confirmed order, paid for order and then waited twenty minutes for it. Order was confirmed again before it was handed to me in a staples paper bag. When I got home one of the entrees was missing. When we called they said I was too far away to deliver (about 8 Miles) and that I could come pick it up either tonight or some other time. Awful experience. We placed a $40.00 order and the food was awful. Pepper steak with onion was terrible. Steak was so tough, it could not be chewed. Egg rolls were doughy on the inside and very greasy. Nothing was good. We called to make a complaint and the the woman told us, we could come back to get a refund, then a male called us back and told us he would not refund our money unless we brought the food back to be tested. Little hole in the wall Chinese place. I was a little wary since it's so dingy on the inside (you can eat inside.....but I advise not to), but the food was solid Chinese fare with generous portions. The clerks (I've had 3 different ones over the months) spoke heavily accented but clear English. Everything takes "10 minutes", but it's really closer to 15-20 when they're busy. I always do pickup, so not sure how the delivery is. No brown rice option though :( read more

I like this place. Most of the food is good and the prices are reasonable. People are friendly and they prepare the food quickly. My only issue is the veggie fried rice.
