Took both our Yorkie and Shitzu in a week ago and was happy with the results. Recommended

When i first dropped off my Lab, they didnt ask what i wanted or said hi to me or my dog. They simply put a collar on him and took him back. Crazy because that was the first time ive ever been there. So i was confused why they didnt talk to me about what they were going to do. I asked for him to get a wash, teeth clean, nails done, and to leave about an inch of fur but to NOT cut anywhere on his head. When i finished talking they took my dog to the wall and hooked him to it. I left and 3 hours later i get a call to come pick him up and they said they close at 2:30pm so to hurry... it was 2:15pm... so i had to rush over to pick up my dog. This is the worst part. I walked in and i almost didnt notice my fur baby. They shaved him down to the skin!!! He looked so miserable. There were multiple shave cuts on his neck. They shaved his tail about 2 inches up then left the whole thing long and bushy. I was immediately furious, but it was already 2:30 and i didn't want to deal with the whole mess especially since nothing can fix it now. I paid and left. I will NEVER go back nor do i advise anyone to go there. The lady even said to me when i picked him up, "he was so good, he let us do whatever we wanted to him" WHAT?! I take both of my doodles here and Emily is great with them. They are always clean and well groomed. Plus great suggestions on shampoo.

Took 3 dogs for nail trims. Very stressful for me to do this. Nails were cut and no one offered the Dremel. Did not know it was a service offered. The place is filthy. Very rude owner. Don't take your dogs here. read more

I absolutely love this place. They groomed my 2 miniature poodles today and my pups look so awesome. This was my first opportunity to use Best Friends and let me tell you, it was really great experience. The grooming staff are very friendly and if they question any detail on grooming your pet, they will contact you to ensure they provide the service that you want for your pet. To every client that visits Best Friends in Rio Rancho for pet grooming: Although I don't usually write posts like this, I feel that people should be aware of it and should know that I feel it is extremely disappointing. I will start by saying that I adore my fur babies and consider them to be my own children. For instance, when I take my kids to get a haircut, I want them to finish it and then let's go! Emily works for a highly demanding boss who only gets her way because she is the business owner, which is terrible. Yet. Emily grooms people so well! and performs well. She is a kind woman who complies with your requests. similar to a hairstylist. However, it's unfortunate that after reading reviews of this company, I have to sympathize with many of your reviews. Best Friends Grooming's owner, Diane, is extremely unprofessional, impolite, and abusive, not just to some of her clients but also to our fur babies. When I initially visited this grooming establishment, I inquired about the possibility of having my dog done as soon as possible. Yes, Emily replied. When I returned with my puppy and 3-year-old fur baby, I requested the same thing, and it was fulfilled. When I asked Diane for the same thing a third time, she responded that it was first come, first served. I informed her that my dogs were the first customers. They looked awful when I arrived to pick them up several hours later! Their hair appeared to have been chopped by a child or unprofessional groomer. Since it was before the holidays I felt they took on more than they could handle, I decided to let it go....I believe there was a misunderstanding with Diane and my husband. But I let it go, and I did let them know about it. It was nice the next few times since I just had to deal with Emily, and everything went smoothly. When I brought my pups in this last time, they took dogs of all sizes, with long and short fur, big and small. There, you name it. They had dogs in the cages, tied to the walls, and some running around when I brought my fur babies in. I'm not lying. I'm not sure how the city handles that. They were overcapacity, in my opinion. At 7:30 a.m., however, I left my dogs, anyways, because I had to run some errands. Then, the first time I stopped by, they hadn't yet begun to attend on my pups. When I returned a second time, the staff were talking on the phone and there were dogs all over the place, including unsupervised ones on the table. When I asked them if I could schedule another appointment after the third time I stopped by, they declined. That day, I didn't receive my doggies until the end of their day. I was furious! But once again, i let it go. Then I tried to schedule an appointment a month later, no one answered the phone. Diane called and said Emily would no longer be able to groom my doggies. I proceeded to ask her why and she said because she is the owner and Emily has to listen to what she says . So I said "Ookay!" I asked if I could speak to Emily because technically she should be the one to tell me and Diane said it was Emilys choice so please don't call back and besides ir was your fault that Emily messed up one of the dogs groom and even cut it, because I stopped in to check on my doggies. If they are professional groomers, distractions should not bother them. I feel she just needed something to blame it on and she didn't want me to see all the other dogs crying and be uncomfortable! Please don't let you family fur babies suffer. Check on them! read more

Just got home from picking my little fur girl up from best friends grooming . Awesome awesome , job. They did wonderful work as always . I used to see Diana yrs ago with my retriever. We have been taking our pups to Best Friends for over 10 years. Dianna and her family are wonderful. Our pups don't ever mind getting groomed - they get to see Dianna! She loves the animals like they are her own and her prices can't be beat! We had Yorkies when we first moved here and then a schnoodle we lost to an owl that we also took to her. We've been going to this groomer for 4 years now and had never had an issue until now. My wife schedule an appointment for our dog to be groomed at a time that was convenient for our work schedule which was 8:30 in the morning. We arrived at 8:15 an was told that we were an hour and a half late, what the heck? Our appointment was at 8:30, she insisted that it was at 7am. When I explained she was wrong, she got rude and tried to blame it on the Covid and the Governor! Really? I will not EVER do business with people that can not admit their fault, and the sad part about this, she didn't even ask to reschedule. So I reached out to all my friends that we recommended to this place to stop going because of their rudeness. Your in the customer service business, you should act accordingly! The ladies did a great job on my Shitzu. Price is fair and they even asked me to bring him back for a nail trim in 2 weeks which they did not charge for because they asked I bring him in to do it. read more

Poor quality grooming. We took in a Bichon and came out with a poorly groomed poodle looking animal. Horrible haircut, almost shaved. Also place is very unkempt with dogs running loose. Can't believe the groomer is even licensed. read more

I would empathically state that this business engages in unethical business practices! Although I had worked successfully with Dianna since December 13th, 2015 (and the previous owner Kathryn Cummings since July of 1999), my most recent business dealings with Best Friends Grooming were highly unprincipled and unethical. If a business orders custom-imprinted business merchandise with the intent of refusing delivery AFTER THE MERCHANDISE IS PRINTED in order to leverage the business into giving them the merchandise at a fraction of the previously agreed price, that's unethical! Although I tried to speak with Dianna numerous times in order to courteously rectify the situation, her business associate Janet prevented me from doing so. Janet appeared to take "glee" in the fact that I was now forced to reship the merchandise a fraction of the previously agreed price. Eventually, after much frustration, I was able to leave a message for Dianna that I would reship the merchandise for substantially lower than the originally agreed upon price. That is where this situation was on 10/09/18. Regrettably, today (10/27/18) I received a very threatening phone call from Dianne. I took the high road in offering to resolve this matter (by reshipping the merchandise she ordered at a greatly reduced price!), however she chose the low road. Everything I have stated in this review is the truth! If a business cheats another business, that business has the right to post a negative review about that business. What can I do?
