They admitted to electronically storing and transmitting data to third parties to attempt to bully and enforce invalid agreements. Their electronic surveillance is abhorrent, in our opinion. You are reading this correctly. The Kurtis Kitchen salesperson that you invite into your home is recording you without your consent. They don't even inform you that they are recording. They start recording as they approach the house. They leave recording devices in your home. In our case the salesperson's iPad was left in our home as they repeatedly go out to their vehicle for samples. They listen to you conversing from their connected smartphone while not present. They also transmit to non-local people to evaluate the sales call. They store the data and absolutely will attempt to refute valid legal claims through use of illegal recording. In our case they lost in arbitration. We had to hire an attorney to fight against their own wrongly written agreement. We had to fight them on their terms in arbitration, as agreed in their contract. In our opinion Kurtis Kitchen are as corrupt of a company as it gets without being criminally prosecuted. We hope the State of Michigan reads this and chooses to protect the homeowners of metro Detroit from a predatory sales process, with questionable at best business practices.

My wife and I wanted new laminate kitchen counters. We had been given some contacts for countertops…read morebut all of them only dealt in stone. On the third call I asked if anyone still made/installed laminate countertops and was given the phone number for The Kitchen Top Shop. We called and drove down to their showroom on 8 Mile Rd that afternoon. Long story short- a family owned business with the second generation taking over. An enormous selection of laminates from the two industry leaders, Formica and Wilsonart. We worked with John for both sales and installation. John was just great to work with! The countertops were part of a series of upgrades we were doing in our home and we wanted them to go well with new flooring and paint. John showed us an undermount sink by Karran, which we didn't even know was possible with laminate. We did a couple of other tweaks to our original project and still thought the pricing was very good. (We recommend spending the extra money for the decorative edging!) It took us a while to choose a laminate pattern, but once we did John got the materials ordered and had everything ready to install just two weeks after we provided the pattern information. The installation went extremely well! John brought along Mitchell as his helper. The two of them had the plumbing disconnected and our old countertops removed in short order. The final trimming and customization of the countertops was done on site to ensure that all the pieces fit perfectly and the faucet and electrical outlets went exactly where we wanted them. The project included the installation of a new garbage disposal, and John cleaned up the plumbing layout under the sink to allow for better access and more room. Mitchell is a wizard with the caulking gun, and cleanup was very thorough. The finished product is nothing short of spectacular. The new countertops have really transformed our kitchen. One of our neighbors came over and was certain we had gotten real stone put in. Everything looks great and is working perfectly. Good pricing, great craftsmanship, and super nice people to work with.
