I brought my one year old Yorkie there yesterday to get groomed. I asked her to trim his face and just lightly trim his body. She said she would but when I picked him up his entire body was shaved! I was so shocked and asked why she cut him so short. She said he was very uneven and it was all she could do. I think she should have called me before doing that because I would have told her NO! I'm way overdue in writing this. I was a huge fan of Tinas. One day I was supposed to drop the girls off and there was a work crew working with the floor torn up and asbestos showing in the inner wall. They were doing a remodel which was great. However, Tina was not there and I could not wait any longer. I did not feel comfortable leaving my dogs there with workers. I left. She was furious with me and told me I was no longer welcome. I was polite, and never lost my cool, but I was hurt and angry all at the same time. It was very strange because I thought we had a good relationship. We absolutely love it here and Rosemary is the absolute best!! She has been grooming our Goldendoodle pup for the last ~5 months and has done such an amazing job with him! He is a puppy and is pretty difficult when it comes to grooming, but she has been so patient with him and really takes her time to make sure he isn't scarred from the process. She does what is best for him and always has the best recommendations for getting rid of any matts without taking off too much of his doodle "fluff". The problem is they cage the dogs and they cannot give you an accurate time to pick up your dog. If your appointment is at 10:00 your dog will be barking and caged and crying til 5:00. They take on too many dogs and have scheduling issues. I had taken my dog to be groomed ..you can only drop off outside so you can't go inside and see or hear what's going on . You cannot go in because of covid, so after hearing my dog crying in the background over the phone after hours of being locked up and Tina still had not groomed my dog I said I will go get him now . I was so upset that she did not call hours before to say she could not groom my dog . His appointment was at 10:00 .. I called at 4;00 ? Why is it taking so long ? Tina the groomer claimed my mellow ,Sweet, loving dog should be sedated! My dog was traumatized from not being let out to go potty.as soon as I picked him up he had to go . Of course he was crying . I will never take my dog there ever and have told my friends about what goes on there . He now goes to the best groomer Margaret . His appointment is at 10:00 for example he's ready by 11:15 . Very happy they were able to squeeze my 3 month Dobie puppy in to get a nail trim. This big baby finally had her last set of shots so that meant I could finally take her out. She had been accidentally scratching me for at least a week, so I was very relieved they answered my call and were able to get me in same day. They had great customer service and definitely made an impression; as my easily scared fur baby came out calm and happy, she even wanted to go back inside as we were walking away. Although she didn't get pampered this time with a bath I definitely feel confident leaving her in their care as her reactions speaks great volumes. Made an appointment for an express grooming. They told me they can not quote me a price unless they see the dog first, which is understandable. My baby was finished in 90 minutes and she did a nice job on my Portuguese Water Dog. I was charged 45.00 for grooming and an additional 20 for the express not sure what the add on for express was. I left. 15.00 tip. We are on vacation and I simply didn't have time to get my dog in before the holidays so this worked out great without leaving my dog for too long at a groomers. I assume Tina's assistant must have done the grooming because I can't imagine Tina would have done this. I will NEVER return there. A neighbor recommended Tina because of her amazing grooming skills and kind nature. I have tried a few groomers for Oliver, my Australian Labradoodle, but hadn't yet found "the one". The last groomer we tried a few times, she did a good job with his cut but the last time we went her attitude was not that great. When I picked Oliver up I could tell by his demeanor he didn't have the best experience. For me that is not acceptable, my dog is family! I called Best In Show and spoke with Tina explaining how I like for Oliver to be groomed. We booked the appt and today he went for his first grooming with Tina. When we arrived she took a good look at Oliver and we discussed how I like for him to be groomed. I will admit that I am a little picky, liking his head and legs longer than his body. I like his curly bangs to hang but not too long that he can't see. I like his face long but tapered and his beard short. I don't like the "blown out" look, I prefer to show off his wavy/curly fleece coat! Tina was very kind, easy to talk to and professional. Once I picked Oliver up I could tell right away he looked great. Once I got him home and was able to take a closer look at him I must say I was very impressed! I could tell Tina paid close attention to all the "picky" details I went over with her. Oliver was in great spirits when I picked him up which made me feel even more confident that he was in good hands. We moved to La Quinta in 2012. Tina was working at Petco and we used her to groom our 2 small poodles. She did a great job each and every time and we were so happy for her when she called us directly and told us that she left Petco and opened her own grooming shop in La Quinta. We were one of her first customers (AND REPEAT customers for YEARS). I have NO idea what happened, but recently we brought the boys to Best in Show like usual and the boys returned with unfinished and uneven cuts, especially on their faces and mustaches, without their toenails being cut. I called Tina as soon as they got home (my hubby picked them up) to discuss this with her and arrange a time when I could bring the dogs back so she could finish grooming them and she didn't even have the courtesy to call me back! I called 3 times over the next few days!! I wasn't rude to her in any of my messages that I left. although by the 3rd call, I was very irritated. I just wanted to find out what happened! If my dogs misbehaved, which I know they do sometimes, I wouldn't have been upset at all. I would have certainly understood. At the same time, as a professional groomer, Tina should have been able to handle their acting up while they're getting groomed IF that was the issue in the first place. But to give a substandard haircut to BOTH dogs and then NOT return the call from your repeat customer who simply wants to know what the heck happened is downright hurtful, terrible service and BAD BUSINESS that needs to be addressed. Tina should rethink dropping customers like this without any explanation at all. Since she is relatively new to owning her own business, she doesn't realize that good customers are hard to come by. Hopefully she will learn to appreciate her customers and treat them better than the way she treated us after all these years. read more
