Cute little store in the heart of Cambria. The owner ( I think) was really nice and explained "moonstones" to me. There was another couple shopping there when the hubby and I were there. The other lady bought a couple tops after trying them on in the tiny dressing room. I bought a moonstone bracelet that was very pretty. We were traveling with our mini schnauzer and it was OK for the hubby to bring her inside. read more

This location @ 786 Main Street (according to my receipt) is closing down, but according to the sales person there are other stores owned and operated by Best Kept Secret. They have (as of October 2014) nice sales prices and a fun selection of souvenirs as well as things everyone may want or need for the Nor Cal / Central Coast Beach area... sunglasses, a big floppy hat, sandals, as well as a sweatshirt! The owner may tell you that her products from a given manufacturer are exceptionally durable, and that you can buy them with confidence. Don't take that to mean she will stand behind those products if they don't perform: she won't! I bought a jacket which she praised because it would "wear like iron". When the zipper broke after only 3 or 4 wearings (and no laundering) I called her (I live 300 miles away) to see if she could return it to the manufacturer and get me a replacement. She assured me she would NOT take the garment back because it was over the 14-day limit on returns, broken zipper or not. When I suggested I could return it to the manufacturer myself, she kind of freaked out and said that was the worst thing I could do, they would cut her off for sure. I really don't think customer service is one of her top priorities. read more

Customer service is lacking. Employee was whispering to a friend that they hope for tourists to leave when tourists - like myself - were in line to pay and it made me feel uncomfortable. We visited this small store two days ago and it has a nice selection of shirts, sweatshirts, etc.; very good quality. The woman working there (she wasn't the owner) was very friendly and she had a great sense of humor; we enjoyed talking to her. My husband bought an attractive-looking sweatshirt and the material is really comfortable. read more

This place looks a little like a touristy-t-shirt and touristy-jewelry shop on first glance, but after I found a silver pendant at Harmony Pottery Works I came back in to look for a sterling silver chain to go with it and the owner helped me find exactly what I was looking for. She was very helpful with the smaller piece, so I asked for help with the other pendant I got at Moonstones, and she found a nice, dressier chain for that item too. Then she told me if I bought both chains it would be 50% off both. So, two interesting chains for $25! That's worth 4 stars to me. read more

I was completely delighted to discover what now ranks as the "retail highlight" of my Cambria vacation! We were in the downtown Cambria store the day after Thanksgiving, 2017. Angel (Angelique) was working and was very kind, walking us through the store and telling us history and stories of all the merchandise. She is very knowledgeable, with a very kind, funny personality. Her employer should be very happy with her salesmanship. We took a lot of her time (maybe 60 minutes, maybe 90...), but certainly allowed her to help other customers. She treated them all the same, with kindness and professionalism. We kept expanding our purchasing as Angel taught us about the products we were most interested in. She called the owner and negotiated more discount than the original Black Friday Prices as posted. We found Great Value at Best Kept Secret. Angel helped make our pending holidays more joyful, and made my wife VERY HAPPY. read more

I came in looking for a sweatshirt. I am between sizes so I asked her to try on the smaller one. It was snug so I got the bigger one. When I got back to the hotel I went to put it on and it was smaller than the smaller sized one. I immediately took it back. I asked for a refund and she said no refunds. It was the biggest size they had and I wasn't interested in anything else. As she compared the sizes she that the company sends things that are different sizes. If someone isn't satisfied and you don't have a size they need. You should give them a refund.. Period..I won't be back. read more

Best Kept Secret - Jewelry Near Me - Cambria, California

Recently took a weekend trip to Cambria with an elderly woman. I have shopped at this store many times in the past and the woman we brought wanted to go too. Last year I spent about a thousand dollars on jewelry. Our elderly friend, who is very wealthy by the way, went in to look at jewelry with my daughter while I stayed outside with the dogs. My daughter has quite a few tattoos. Apparently this was off-putting to the sales person and she intentionally ignored our elderly friend instead helping every other customer coming in after they had come in. My daughter stepped out thinking our friend would get helped if she was t there; that Infuriated me to even thing about so I went in and asked the sales person why she wouldn't help our friend. She was very rude and condescending. Really not any way to speak to anyone let alone an elderly woman and one who actually was looking to spend a lot of money. I helped out friend out of the shop and we went a few doors down to a lovely little shop where the sales staff was more than happy to help all of us - even my daughter with her tattoos. I'll never shop here again. And I'm sorry I ever spent a dime here let alone a thousand dollars. read more

I've been buying from this store for at least 4 or 5 years. We were there on April 25 and they have went down hill. I will not shop here again. They sold my son a plastic Opal. You can not trust there product. They have it posted all over the store no returns. We went to complain about the plastic Opal and the owner told there sells person to come back on Saturday. Our visit ended on Thursday. We were at other stores in cambria selling the same jewelry for lower prices then the sell prices we bought at this store. read more
