Oh boy. Here goes... ordered from here via Uber Eats today and wow. I can't even remember the last time I had such terrible Chinese food. Yikes. 1. Chicken lo mein was basically tasteless. Super bland. 2. Same goes for the pork egg rolls. Zero flavor. 3. Steamed dumplings ended up in the garbage. The way they tasted, smelled and looked inside were NOTHING like I've ever had before and not in a good way. The meat inside tasted overcooked and like it was sitting in soy sauce for days. The color of the meat was literally BLACK! Came with a small side of plain soy sauce instead of the typical dumpling sauce you receive at all other Chinese restaurants. Eww. 4. Cheese wontons were burnt and dry as hell. Half of those ended up in the garbage as well. Came with a side of duck sauce instead of the sweet orange sauce it's supposed to come with. 5. The chicken and broccoli was a disaster. Super oily, wilted old broccoli and rubbery chicken. The white rice it came with was average at least. Smh. What did I just eat and waste my hard earned money on?!?! I'm literally mad at myself for wasting money at this place. The poor Uber Eats delivery driver even told me she called the restaurant for directions because it was hard to find and she got a nasty attitude from the guy that answered. This is a weird little restaurant. They have this great space that they could really turn into something but they do nothing with it. It seems like they only have 1 guy working, but he is back behind his partitions so they seem to be doing a good job with the pandemic. The food here is pretty good. There is much better Chinese that's a short drive away but the food they make here is tasty. I think it's a little greasy but it's cheap Chinese. There are much worse places. This is a good place to go if you just need that quick Chinese fix and you don't feel like leaving downtown Patchogue. I just had beef lo mein and it cured my hangover. I wish they had a better drink selection too. But it's really such a weird little spot. Giant dining room with nothing going on. Weird little segregated kitchen area. We placed a large order for our school today 20 combo lunches. It couldn't have gone any better. They delivered it on time. They labeled each of the containers with the students name for us. They gave us plates, forks, spoons, sauces without us asking for them. I called the night before to alert them to the large order. They were really nice on the phone. The food was great. Oh Best Meal, you are so good at hitting the spot that all other Chinese menus go straight into the trash! Since moving to Patchogue two years we have gone with another Chinese food place maybe once tops if at all. I live fairly close so sometimes we go with takeout, other times we are lazy and go with delivery. In all the countless times we have gotten delivery there was only one time that our order took an obscenly long time to get here (over 45 minutes) but we like them so much we remained undettered. Otherwise, the food is delivered pretty quick (within 20-25 minutes) or is ready when we get there. For me Chinese food takeout is just that. Its good, but I don't know if there is any appreciable difference in taste from one place to the next. The food is consistently good and they have never messed up an order even with special requests. My boyfriend loves the General Tso's chicken combination. I am a fan of the broccoli with garlic sauce, vegetable chow mein, and steamed vegetable dumplings. Their spring rolls are also tasty. I get to the restaurant to pick up my order, and the owner was being very friendly, and making small talk. If I could give less stars than this I would. I placed an order via grubhub at 6pm on 11/8/16. After waiting over an hour to receive my order, I called the Chinese restaurant to inquire about my food. I was treated with such disrespect, hung up on twice, and was told if I don't feel like waiting "oh well" and that by calling about my order being late I was making someone else's order run late as well. When I replied that I wasn't concerned about other people's orders, I was told "well that's because you only care about yourself". I was treated terribly, and hung up on. My husband called to inquire again about our food when it rounded the 45 minute mark and the woman who answered the phone could be heard telling someone else "the asshole from (our address) is calling again what should I tell them this time?" My children were present and heard this terrible language, made all the worse that they were waiting to have family dinner. I am disgusted that this kind of treatment is what is provided through your service, and am now trying to come up with a meal for my family without knowledge of if our Chinese food will ever actually arrive. UPDATE: our food showed up one hour and 42 minutes after ordering and when we explained to the delivery man the issue, he left with the food when we asked if he would discount our price. I have been ordering from this place for 5 years and about 2 to 3 times a month (as a guide). Most times I have delivery and it is solid as I don't live next door but they tell me upfront it takes 45 minutes. The food is solid and my family has tried about everything on the menu. I have tried others in the area but keep coming back here as when it is all said and done they are very good. I have tried other places as a guide to see if there is a better place or something "different" but it is what it is. They make a very good house special soup and the chicken fried rice is excellent as well. I have never ate there but then again outside of a real restaurant, why would you?
