Look no further, you've found the best nail salon in Encinitas. It's my favorite part of my week coming into Best Nails. Not only do they have nearly 1,000 color choices, they also help you pick out exactly what you've been envisioning and it always comes out perfect. They constantly stay on top of the latest nail trends and have the supplies for them like jelly, chrome, cateye etc. I get a gel manicure every time and it lasts 2 full weeks, sometimes even 3 full weeks with zero chips. If you have an appointment, they always start on time and get you in and out in about an hour (for gel mani). Great Locally owned and run nail shop! Family is so sweet and the prices are reasonable. My two fave gel manicurists are Lilly and Kim (the owners daughters) so chill and very skilled! I go elsewhere for full set acrylics but imo this is the place to go for manicures and pedicures. I love how friendly, professional and accommodating they are. I just paid for one of the worst mani pedis ever. They didn't have the polish for the look I wanted. I showed them a photo of the exact nails but instead I got caked on acrylics that look terrible, and a pedicure that barely took any dry skin off. The polish is smudged on my toes and fingers. I asked one woman if she could take the gel polish off and start over. She refused and put several more coats over the mistakes. You can still see the smudges. I finally gave up but should have asked them to remove everything and just put clear polish on my natural nails. That would have looked better. Even the shape of my nails look crooked. So now I need to pay for a second manicure and pedicure somewhere else this week. I'll never go back here, even for a fix. I don't think they have the skill set to fix this. To make the experience even more uncomfortable one of the technicians admonished me for saying I did not inherit great nails. I was merely stating my opinion, and explaining what I want and need. I had to listen to her talk about her personal health issues and how I should have gratitude for not being sick like her and other people. She even compared my comment to another client who had a prosthetic limb and I don't know if she was trying to shame me for my comment about my nails, or what? It went on for about 15 minutes and yes, I am sorry she and other people have health issues but it was so unprofessional and uncomfortable. She also mentioned how she only came back to work because she needed money so maybe trying to get me to tip more?? I expect more for a $78 mani-pedi with expectation of a tip. read more

UPDATE: less than 24hrs and they've started chipping. This place blows. This place is terrible. I don't like leaving poor reviews, but if you're looking for "the best nails" you won't get them here. It is not a relaxing, clean environment. They aren't welcoming or friendly. The older gentleman who did my nails did a sloppy, careless job. His hands were shaking while he was doing them and I'm not sure his eye sight was the best. He didn't even color my entire nail and got gel polish all over my cuticles AND didn't correct it like he didn't even notice. I addressed this with him after he thought he did an acceptable job, left for a smoke break, came back wreaking of cigarettes and seemed pissed I asked him try to fix them. To attempt to fix them, he added another later of gel polish to try to cover my whole nail, still missed some of it, left it uneven at the base of my cuticles and left my nails chunky and uneven. Not to mention, I can still see some of the pearl nail polish I had on before I came in. They don't use any lotion at all, just oil your hands and feet up and send you packing. For $35 gel manicure and $25 gel pedicure, I expected at least a 5 minute massage. It's the bare minimum here and left me feeling like I should have saved my money and done them myself. Very disappointed. Came in looking for a design with a alternative to French using nude and gold. They didn't have gold. I switched to just a french with a non traditional white tip. Still couldn't do it. I settled on just a french set. He didn't show me a standard item menu or anything. Was very rough with my hands and I frequently had to say OW. One nail was coming off and had a black spot where he filed it. He didn't fix it or nothing. Black spot is there under the gel now. Got a pedicure too, with no massage for either. Was $75. They're already flaking and chipped. Very upset. I'll be calling and asking for my money back. UPDATE: I did indeed call and request a refund. Explained the situation and was told to come in. I went in and two women looked at my nails. They acknowledged that the quality was not good and that I wanted a refund. Called the guy that did them yesterday and he stated they do not give refunds. He said he could redo them but I stated why would I want that considering the quality you showed me the first time. He stated owner does not allow refunds. I asked him where that was posted and looked around. It's not. However, they do have a sign up for the better business bureau. I will be reporting this level of service to the better business bureau. read more

I didn't think Encinitas could have 2 GHETTO nail salons. Been here twice. The 1st time I had the gentleman do my pedicure and he did a good job and gave a nice massage. My girlfriend and I stopped by after work to relax and get mani's/pedis. This was NOT relaxing. Out of 5 chairs 4 of them were broken. 2 of the chairs they added the massagers you would put in your chair at home and plug into the wall. I sat down and asked to recline. IT DOESN'T recline. I was in a VERY uncomfortable position so they took it off of the chair. The water was ICE cold. I asked to have it warmer. Which didn't seem possible. The pedicure was ok. No decent scrubbing of the feet and no decent massage. The manicure was horrible. She just clipped my nails straight accross didn't really shape them. Made me reach accross my body to put both hands in the water. (HEY here's an idea... how about use two bowls and let someone relax? You know when you're done how they put the tissue between your toes and then put your flip flops on? NOPE not here. She got up when to turn some machine on she wanted me to put my feet in and told me to go over there. So I had to get up and put my clean feet on the dirty floor? DEFINITELY NOT the place to go if you want to be pampered. The place I go off of College in Oceanside blows the doors off of this place. A guy comes around with a lil pillow and offers a free neck massage. I MISSED him!!!! I won't ever be back here and it's right by my office. ;( read more

The BF and I both got mani pedis and got worked on by 2 people each. Most of their polish is OPI! The ladies were very nice! I asked them to cut my toes short though, and they cut them a lil too short, to the point where it kinda hurts. But I blame myself since I said I liked them short lol.
