Yeah, all of the prior reviewers weren't wrong. I should've known better than to ignore the Yelperverse, but being a visitor in town, I didn't know where else to go and figured, "How bad could they screw up a simple fill-in?" I arrived as a walk in and it took about an hour to be seen. A man kept telling me that his worker was on her way. Then I ended up being serviced by some lady who had been there the whole time. *insert glowering eyes* I asked for black chrome and showed a picture of what I wanted. She said ok, but I ended up with regular black gel nails. Ok. I told the lady that my skin is sensitive to the drill and I'm easily cut. She continued to go Michael Meyers on my nail folds. Not ok. Even after yelping (hehe) in pain, she still continued to slice away. It took everything I had to restrain my reflexes. The polish job was nice, but the nails were thick (even after all that drilling) and there was a slight gap between the polish and cuticle, so it looked like I still needed a fill-in... Which was the reason I came in the first place. Nah. Hard pass on ever going back. read more

Update... after one of my nails fell off, I saw there was mold under it (due to the lifting). I went to a different place cos I can't have my nails looking like trash for another week. Ha, these reviews are wild. I've been to several other nail salons in Madison and this one is the best and most accommodating. Staff was friendly, patient, listened to concerns, and most importantly, took the time to give me beautiful nails! Also, very reasonably priced! Angel was awesome, very personable and easy to talk to. This is my new go-to nail place in Madison. Highly recommend. Also, some of these reviews are flat-out racist... Myself and 2 friends went in for pedicures and manicures. My 1st experience with them was good. My friend ended up bleeding during her pedi and said she will not be going back. Since my other friend and my 1st experience went well we went back last week. We will not be giving Best Nails our business anymore. I have real nails, they were filed uneven, and the shellac polish this time seems very thin and missing in places. The biggest issue I have with Best Nails is the way that they treat their customers. They are very rude and yell at people receiving services. If they treated their customers with respect, this would go a long way. Instead, they yell at people, get in their faces, and refuse to fix issues that they are at fault for. read more

The staff are friendly and their work is very good. I have only had great outcomes. Some people walk in without an appointment and expect immediate service even when it is obvious that are busy. The best nail staff remain polite. read more

I really wanted to give a negative score!!!! The guy just started cutting my acrylic nails off (I couldn't understand why I just wanted to fill) and he was in such a hurry that he clipped a plug out of my skin And he treated it like it was like whatever I had to ask him for a Band-Aid or something (I was bleeding it wasn't a Little Nic) and he only gave me a Band-Aid so I had to get some hand sanitizer out of my purse! then got an attitude when I said for him to please be careful And then told me after cutting two of my acrylics off including my natural nail And took off most of my gel polish then he told me he could not do my nails!!?!? Because I asked him to be careful and the woman said that he didn't feel comfortable??! So they have my nails looking awful and then told me I need to come back in five hours!?!? I wouldn't of had a problem but they just destroyed my nails on top of cutting me bad! If you wanna be treated like you're spending money for a service I would say do not go to East town for your nails to get done!!!!! They all have horrible customer service!!! read more

Are you familiar with the plague? No, not hanging out with it? Then you'll want to similarly avoid this place. Incredibly rude, and flat-out incompetent nail technicians make for a manicure you'll not forget. I wanted a french manicure on my natural nails. The tech asked nothing about how I wanted my nails cut, started whacking away, leaving only the barest bit of nail sticking out from the tip, cut them crookedly, and then filed away half of what was remaining. He did make to sure to tell me (repeatedly) that they don't fix french nail paint chips for free. Whatever- just stop making a disaster of my hands so that I can run home and fix it myself. read more

Worst customer service EVER! None of them would even crack a smile and I was super nice to them. I asked the guy to razor my feet and he told me the stuff he used would be sufficient. Then when my nails were drying I notice my feet are still rough and dry so I show him. He gets all mad and when someone else stepped in to take care of it he was shooting nasty looks at me from his nail station. Not to mention it was the worst massage ever. Do NOT go to this place! It's awful. I will NEVER go here again. Go to La Vie nails just outside the mall. They are so nice there! Also, while I was there I heard another customer get upset and say she would never be back. This was a pretty good experience for me and my 4 friends coming here for homecoming nails. All of us got acrylic nails ($30), 3 of us got matte ($3), I got coffin cut, 1 got oval, and 2 of my friends got almond ($5)(my last friend didn't change the shape so no extra charge). The man and female who did mine and my friends' were very quick (besides one lady, she did my one friend's nails in the time a man did two of our sets of nails, which was alright). They only cut our cuticles by accident once or twice per person (I've felt worse pain so I wasn't too upset). The man who did mine forgot to apply matte, but a woman quickly came in and saved the day. They were very patient as we calculated how much we'd be paying, and overall nice and organized people. This place is located in the east towns mall. It's my first time here with my daughter and we didn't have an appointment. As we enter the nail saloon, we are greeted by a lady and we asked if there were any openings for a mani/pedi. Surprisingly, she said yes, because it was 8pm and there were two of us, but we wouldn't be able to get the mani done at the same time but we would end up getting the the pedicure done closer together. Which we didn't mind cause we just wanted our nails done. The nail techs were very friendly and professional. They took very good care of us and our nails look amazing. My daughter later told me in the car that this was going to be her to go nail place. Thanks again! read more

Go else where, it's not worth it at all. Went last week for a pedi, she cut my nails so badly it hurt to walk. My friend, no idea why, wanted to go back yesterday for manicures for her wedding. First they were beyond rude, then we showed EASY designs and we were told no, so I settled for a light blush pink, he finished a hand, said no something about spring and put on a darker pink. Fine, now its not even 15 hours later and the shellac is peeling off. I have $35 bubblegum pink perling nails Worst of all a mom brought a 4 year old in to get manis together, one employee yelled at the mom when she declined to sit multiple seats away from her daughter. read more

I had one person filing and another person buffing my nails to get me out of there as soon as possible. All my nails were a different length. The girl at the counter told me everyone goes home by eight and I said oh your website says you're open till 9 PM. She said the mall is open till nine but we are ready to go at eight. Just change your hours posted so people don't drive there. If you are going to close early because no one is there, that even makes sense, but to turn people away over an hour before closing time, that's poor management. read more

After two tries, I will not be back. Tech painted my nails with a different color than chosen. When I shared that I thought the color was not right, she argued, got the bottle, made a big production out of the question and it was embarrassing! Easter pink is not the same color as a merlot, wine tone. And, telling me it was because the polish is old didn't reassure me. She wanted to paint a third and fourth coat over the top two. I questioned whether it would dry and insisted she take off the wrong and put on the chosen color. Sad that I have to insist. As I look at the nails now, the polish is all over cuticles, nails are different lengths - two thumbs are the most obvious - and I got the business about not describing the shape I wanted correctly. Within a week, my nails began to break and chip. The paint job wasn't great. I asked the gentleman not to use the grinder on my nails and he didn't seem to understand me. Then the lady came through to paint them and she did not out enough paint or layers on. The best part was the design... WORST FILL EVER! I went to this establishment for a new full set. Atmosphere was nice the gentleman doing my nails was polite and efficient. I went back for my fill on a Thursday afternoon. The woman that did my fill may have been owner or owners wife, there were 3 small children coming to her and the other man in the store was talking about them taking them home. Anyway the bottom line is that you can see the nail tip with the grow out. I would love to post my picture. . I was late for class so I just left. I went about a month a go for a full gel set. I asked for the nails to be a bit shorter and the woman became angry saying I should of asked sooner, even though she was filing the tip of the nail still. I went back a little over a week ago. I requested a gel fill with painted french tip. I requested the french be very narrow on the tip. The woman says she knows what she is doing. Once finished she told me the price. I asked her why it was $5 more than a full set. She states it french. I said so if I request the whole nail painted no extra charge. She said yes. My nails are slanted, the french is not narrow or even. I do not recommend this place. I don't care if they are a mall store, they are still a business offering services. read more

Poor quality, very rushed, rude technicians,and worst of all, DISHONEST! Three friends & I went here for pedicures; from start to finish we were done in 20-25 minutes. One friend had to repeatedly ask for her male tech to be more gentle because he was hurting her ( fell on deaf ears). Another tech completely skipped working on another friends' calloused heels, which she really needed. When she asked if he was going to work on her heels when the other techs were working on ours,she was ignored. Two of the four techs spoke decent English so there was no excuse for this as they were shoulder to shoulder. He also smudged same friends polish and acted very put out when she asked him to correct it. When we compared pedis, we were all disappointed in the results and the anything but relaxing or comfortable experience. Upon paying at the register we complained and asked to speak to the manager and were met with a sudden inability for any of our technicians to speak or understand English. Really? Unfortunately, I left my jacket on the chair by the dryers. We called within four minutes of leaving the salon to ask that they put the jacket aside and I would be right back. The woman (in English again!) asked if it was a black jacket left by the dryers. I said 'yes'. She then asked if I was with several other women and when I said 'yes' again, she replied 'No, I haven't seen any jacket'!! I could not believe she just changed her story and we immediately returned to the salon to the surprise of the woman who had answered the phone and sheepishly handed me the jacket without my having to say a word,-her utter dishonesty having been exposed. read more

This is the most awful nail salon I have ever gone to. I spent $40 for a pedicure and had to sit in what felt like a play place with a bunch of the worker's kids running around. The worse part was that after the pedicure the woman put me under the nail dryer, ran my credit card, and I gave her a $5 tip. To show her appreciation for my business and my tip, she takes the kids and leaves me under the nail dryer with no one assigned to tell me when it's okay to leave. I was there so long that I dozed off and when I came to and asked a guy up front where my tech was, he said, "She left about 45 minutes ago." Tacky. Tacky. Tacky. Never again! Let me start off by saying WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Not only did they rudely ask me to change my seat after telling me to sit next to my friend. They charged me extra without informing me. The paint job on my acrylics was so terrible I had to get the manager to do it right. The nail tech was so rude and rough my finger started bleeding. Not to mention they charged all the black people money first before the would start painting. When I first arrived it was full of Caucasian people who all paid after their services whilst the black people had to pay before getting their nails painted. Not to mention they didn't even carry my Black friends stuff to the dryers. All the people who weren't of color received such great treatment while the black people got over charged and were given really bad service. The lady next to me had to file and paint her own nails because it was so bad. Never going back. I should report them to the BBB.
