Great service from an extremely knowledgeable pest control person!!! We moved into our house a year ago, and noticed that the previous owners had mouse traps all around the house. So we called Best Pest to get an assessment of the situation, and to get some traps replaced with newer, safer ones. The owner, Tom, came over, inspected the house, and reported the findings (of no signs of mice currently living in our house). He found and filled a bunch of small potential mouse-portals into our house, and replaced the traps. I was primed to be up-sold as I was really concerned about a mice infestation, but he said things looked pretty good as-is (and he was right - in the past year we've seen no signs of mice, even during/after this cold winter). The service was great, but what sold me on Best Pest was how Tom talked with my 7yo son. My son was extremely curious about the equipment, so I asked if it'd be OK if my son could look at it. Tom stopped his work for a few minutes and showed my son all the gear (while having my son keep a safe distance), explained it to him, and answered my son's questions. Wow! Also, this spring carpenter bees recently took over our wooden play set in the back yard. We again called Best Pest, and Tom came over that day. He assessed the play set, treated/plugged the holes (which were all fortunately in areas where my kids don't play), and told us to let us know if there were any more issues (as carpenter bees can be very difficult to unroot). After a few days we noticed one of those ornery beasts came back, and called him. He showed up in less than 3hrs and treated a few more suspected areas. I had some carpenter ants in my home early this Spring and called Best Pest Control to come check it out. I called Best Pest after being told how good they are by a neighbor and a friend. I called about a tiny beetle problem we were having in our kitchen. The owner,Tom, came over the evening I called and took a specimen letting me know what it was (drugstore beetle) and promised to take care of it. Tom came out at 5:30 on a Sunday (who does THAT anymore?) after I hedge-trimmed over a yellow jackets nest and got stung a few times. He was fast and thorough and extremely nice. As he was leaving (after he took off all his "bee gear"), I realized I had forgotten to ask him about the bigger wasps (he said Paper Wasps) I had seen crawling between the slats of my shutters right next to my front door. I was so worried the kids were going to get stung coming in and out of the house. He checked and treated that nest for free, but we insisted he take the little bit extra we paid him, as we could not be happier with the work he did. He also told us to check for any activity at the nests after 48 hours and if there was still any coming in or out, he would come back and retreat for free until they were gone. But whatever he did worked a lot sooner than that, because we didn't see any the next morning when we left the house, or later when we came back. And then the neighbor (who's hedge I was trimming on our side of the property line) came out this evening and trimmed the whole thing back with no issues. read more

I called on a Sunday, my call was answered promptly. Tom came out to service our bee issue the same day. He was extremely professional, very pleasant and knew his business well. I asked about honey bees and if he had seen many this year. He responded that he hadn't seen many, but when he did, he captured them and took them to a local bee keeper so that the honey bee population wouldn't diminish in this area. This of course took a lot more time than simply killing the bees. He cared to do the right thing, not just about making money. A very good business with an extremely conscientious owner. read more

After hearing movement and scratching noises in one of the walls of my condo last night, I emailed Best Pest Control around midnight (after being out shopping for an hour and a half trying to find a store that sold plug in rodent repellents at 11pm on a Saturday night). I brought my new gadget home, only to read the instructions that said it can take 2-4 weeks to work. After having an issue with something in the wall about 3 years ago around this same time of year, I assumed it was another mouse and started looking for 24 hour local pest control, as I wanted this looked at right away. As I said, I emailed Best Pest around midnight Saturday and got a call from Tom at just after 9 this morning - a Sunday. He talked me through possible solutions of things I could do on my own, or he was available to come out to inspect the situation at 3 this afternoon. Being someone that will pay for peace of mind, I took Tom up on his offer and he showed up at 3pm on this Sunday afternoon. He did a full on inspection and confirmed that there was no visible evidence anything had made its way out of the wall and into my living area. The last instance I had with an animal in the wall, I set out traps but found nothing in them despite leaving them out for well over a year. Tom gave me a number of options on how to proceed given no visual evidence of critters in my home, and ultimately I went with his suggestion of setting out bait and traps in the most common areas the mice would likely go should they find their way inside. I am still keeping the Pest Offense plug in EMF repellent plugged in (they are supposed to help shoo away animals living/nesting in the walls but not inside the home). But, Tom has provided me with peace of mind that should anything get in, it will likely end up in one of the traps he set out. I am not sure I will end up finding anything in the traps based on past experience, but knowing they are there to catch anything before I will have to see it will help me sleep better. It is nearly unheard of having any sort of service provider that makes house calls get back to you first thing on a Sunday morning, let alone be able to come out that same day just 6 hours later to investigate a problem. Or if they do, you will end up paying through the nose for being outside of "normal" working hours. Tom was professional, friendly, informative and assuring. The level of service provided is unlike any I have experienced before, and the cost was no more than it would have been had the call taken place during regular business hours Monday to Friday.
