Mike, a service manager for Pest Arrest, went above and beyond for us and our new home. During the home inspection the inspector noted a large hornet's nest in the attic -- as in about 12" - 18" across! We wanted that GONE, and even though Mike emphasized that hornets do not return to the same nest, they often return to the same general location and build a new nest right next to the old one. He crawled through the attic, removed the nest, sprayed the wall with a deterrent to prevent hornets from wanting to return. He also, once he had removed the nest, told us it wasn't actually hornets, but yellow jackets. Mike then sprayed the rest of the house to prevent any other sort of insects, and set us up with regular service to avoid any issues in the future. He was thorough, explained everything to us, made sure to address any of our concerns or questions, and then...visited with us throughout the process. Very friendly!!! Cost: While it was a bit more than regular service, that isn't a surprise given that we were quote as much as $275 ADDITIONAL CHARGES to remove the wasp nest. Instead, the entire bill came in under that price, and Mike made sure to include any discounts to which we were entitled. I will start by saying I'm not sure what Pest Arrest location our technician came out of but his name was Hank and he was knowledgeable, courteous, and handled our problem swiftly and accurately. (Our home is in Palatine). Mice had come into our basement and Hank inspected our entire house, including attic and garage. There was no up-selling here, no "the house is infested" bullcrap. He showed me how mice were getting in and he set up our house to rid the mice inside and keep the others out. Once work started Hank had everything under control within an hour. Then gave us the exact date and time when he'd be back to check on progress. About year and a half ago, mice were again in basement and I had the misfortune of calling Terminx. They were a disaster, did little, were due to return in two weeks and three months later, after dozens of phone calls, two men came, spent ten minutes in our house and left. I eventually did the work myself while being billed three times more than Pest Arrest billed. If you are having any kind of pest problems you must call Pest Arrest. It is hard today to find an honesty company that is competent and take pride in their work. I recommend Pest Arrest 100%. read more
