Brad (owner) and Best Tree team have again just yesterday provided their top notch knowledge, counsel and service to our nearly 1.4 acre property where we built new home near Lake Georgetown some 4 years ago. Brad/Best Tree first helped us do a heavy prune and initial training of nearly a dozen large specimen trees 3.5 years ago when all the "wild" trees from former ranch land pre-developer. These specimens included a trophy 200+ year old live oak, several large black oaks, large Mesquite , and cedar elms. They did an excellent job then, allowing us to avoid any/all significant limb damage from the record breaking winter ice storms of last 3 winters! Hence, we invited Brad/Best Tree Team for a repeat visit to keep "training" our large specimens to spread out in healthy fashion, prep for next winter/likely repeat ice storms, and to clean up newer specimens (Crape Myrtles, etc.) we planted in last couple years. I called Best Tree Care to remove a couple of large trees that recent winds had pushed over enough to threaten my house. I needed them taken out or re-enforced before the next big front came through. I was impressed with a same day response and on site estimate of expense. No sales guy... no waiting for a quote from the office. Then, they said they could come the next day! OK this was looking good.. After two other companies came out to estimate, Best was Best by at least 50% of the closest bid and about 30% of the highest bid. Of course, I had them do the work and the crew was expert and professional. These were big trees and the took them apart and away with no damage to plants, roof, fences. etc. Great and thorough clean up as well. I will call them again, and I recommend them to anyone. Best Tree Care showed up on time and took down a couple of trees that were interfering with a Magnolia tree that was a gift from a bird dropping. My wife loves the Magnolia. I told Brad, the owner of Best Tree Care, that if the Magnolia got damaged when his crew took out the two trees I was a dead man walking. His crew did a great job, and I am happy to report I am alive and well. The Magnolia was intertwined with a pretty good size tree. The man cutting down the tree started at the top and cut about two feet off at a time holding the cut piece again this body to throw it clear of the Magnolia once he finished his cut. Brad came out to evaluate the health of a huge old elm tree for us. He gave us three possible scenarios to protect the health of the tree and protect us from broken limbs in the future. Brad took the time to assess the tree and to talk to us about what needed to be done. He gave us a reasonable bid and did the work to perfection the very next day. We have had Brad, over some years, trim our trees, take out dead limbs, and clean up the moss. I've hired Best Tree Care twice now. Their prices are very reasonable, their lead times are generally short, and they work quickly and professionally. Most recently, I needed to have a big 50+ year old Arizona ash taken down. Due to the size of the tree, its proximity to the house, and general condition, it needed to come down sooner rather than later. To complicate things, it was a protected tree, necessitating a permit from the City of Austin. Brad handled the permitting and had his crew out in less than a week. An ice storm damage caused a situation where my driveway was significantly block by fallen branches and low hanging broken branches.
