Two years ago, a mini-tornado took out a large tree of our neighbor and damaged one of ours slightly. While not scheduled. This November Brad, the owner of Best Tree Care, discussed with me the needs of our overgrown and freeze damaged trees. WOW did they do a superb job! Brad picked up and I said I needed someone to look at my live oak. He asked if I needed it trimmed and I said no it is struggling and needs some help. Then I heard a dial tone. I thought for sure that was a mistake so I called back twice and both times was put to voicemail. I left a message voicing my frustration of leaving so many messages, not getting a reply, and then to be hang-up on? Still no call back. I guess Brad may be good with trimming trees, but has no idea how to get them healthy. Whatever the case - certainly not "Best" in my opinion. Good luck.

They were hired by the homeowner on my property line to do some tree trimming. The owner owns the…read moreproperty and rents it to some tenants that I do not know. I noticed that they had completely topped the tree in his front yard and I assumed that they were completely taking the tree out however, they left the trunk of the tree standing without a canopy. I went back to work before noticing them doing the same to a tree in the backyard. I stopped the workers and asked what they were doing and why? They pretended not hear me or understand my questions and continued working. I contacted the homeowner asking if he was aware that the contractor was completely topping his trees. He stated that they had been hired to clear the undergrowth however, they notified him that the tree was split down the middle and needed to be addressed. He does not live in the area and authorized them to do what was necessary to address the problem. It appears that he is being taken for a ride since the solution to a cracked limb is not to completely top the canopy of two different trees. To be clear I did not request these services however, the homeowner did not request the services that were delivered. Munoz Tree Service is taking advantage of his geographic separation from the property to perform additional unneeded work that is ultimately going to kill these trees. Furthermore, it is clear they do not have any skills or training is best practices for tree trimming as topping a trees canopy is not recommended as a technique for tree trimming. Buyer beware.

My neighbor hired them and we were lucky enough to be there and witness Carlos and his crew first-hand. We watched as Carlos discussed with my neighbors where he thought would be best to cut to keep the tree healthy, what needed to go, what shouldn't be touched at all. He is truly in the camp of "less is more" and was extremely thorough about discussing, checking, and rechecking before actually making cuts. Then he also pointed out where poison ivy had been growing along the tree and discussed options of how to actually get rid of it for good (seriously, I was there for maybe 5 minutes and learned so much---this is a skilled arborist company, they really know their stuff!). Then my family and I moved to a new house that had numerous trees that needed a little TLC---some branches that were too close to the roof, some trees that just needed the dead cleared away, etc. Again, Carlos and his crew arrived on scene in a timely manner, then proceeded to walk the entire property and mark all places they thought would be best to cut (while ultimately deferring to my husband & I on if that was what WE wanted). After everything was marked, the crew got to work while Carlos supervised the entire time. He brought us out again after the cuts were all made, and then again for a final walk-through to make sure that we were satisfied with all of the clean-up. Our trees are now all happy, healthy and not in danger of hitting our roof (hooray!). We even have a plan in place on what trees to watch for and monitor, and what trees are fine as-is.
