Best Truckin' BBQ is pretty darn good! And imagine my surprise when I found out they were owned by Deli Time! Deli Time is the great cafe inside my office building (and inside many buildings in the 'burbs). A friend had told me about them and when I saw the truck recently at a food truck meetup, I was determined to try them right away. I was their first customer of the day (lucky me!) and the staff seemed really energetic and enthusiastic about their items. I love pulled pork morning, noon and night (minus the morning) so I had to get the Interstate BBQ sandwich. The Interstate is $7 and is a BBQ Pork Sandwich-hand seasoned pork shoulder, smoked for twelve hours, chopped, sauced, & served on your choice of bun (according to their menu). You can pick from a brioche roll or pretzel bread. You can also get the sandwich in slider form for just $3.50. I liked the sandwich an awful lot, ever so slightly dry but great flavor. It's left me wanting more! They have a Bacon chocolate brownie....Yea I'm going to need to get that the next time I get Best Truckin' BBQ. And oh yes, there will be a next time. Tried their jackknife Mac and cheese side. It's a small cup it was ok I had more cheesier and flavorful Mac in other places. You can taste the red bell peppers and a little spice to it. I ordered the traffic jam two bbq chicken sliders yum with pretzel buns. They now give lays classic bag if chips which I liked better than their homemade chips from last time. They tasted stale and hard. Staff was friendly and quick with my order. I wished they taped my wrapped sandwiches in place because it fell apart in my bag when I was taking them out. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich for $8.36 and it said it came with coleslaw. When I got my sandwich there was no coleslaw so I took it back and asked about the coleslaw. They ended up having to get rid of the coleslaw, which is fine. However, if the young man had said this before I ordered the sandwich I would have been able to make the decision to either get the sandwich with out the coleslaw if I wanted. I didn't appreciate that I wasn't informed and I spent my money on something I didn't get. Did not like the initial customer service. This is an extremely difficult review to write. I gave it 4 stars for the food and for the workers on the truck. My journey to finally try this truck is epic. Initially, there was no website listed for this truck, so I googled it and I called the number listed. The person at that number, very graciously, referred me to another number where I had to leave a voice message to get a return call. I went to the facebook page and posted a question about how to know where the truck might be BEFORE it actually left that sight. Now they post the morning of, where they will be. Sometimes I need more than 2 hours to figure out if the location will work for my schedule. The person who called me back explained that she sometimes just puts the name of the building if she thinks that is better known than the actual address of the location. I lived in Lisle for 20 years and NEVER heard of the building. So, might I suggest, that you improve your website to make it legible, addresses help, and the correct times are a benefit. The worker on the truck checked his personal calendar for July and told me they would not be in the area, most unfortunate. The parking at this particular location in Lisle was akin to downtown Naperville. Since everything is placed in a small bag, no larger bags are available ~ you might want to get some of those suckers~ I finally just went back to my car and drove over to the truck because there is no way I could have carried all those small bags in one trip AND unlocked my car. My reward ~ the Interstate, Spare Tire, Jackknife, Speeding Ticket, and Traffic Jam were ALL faaaaaaaaaaaaabulously delicious. That was lunch for 7 people, next time I know to order more of the Traffic Jam. I will keep searching for this truck to be some place nearby because I WANT MORE. read more

Best Truckin' BBQ came to my work for the first time today, and even though I don't really care for BBQ food, I thought I'd give it a shot. After browsing their menu items, (all cleverly named) I decided to try the Expressway mini pretzel slider (BBQ pulled chicken sandwich with their special BBQ sauce. It's also topped with cilantro lime slaw) and two sides; Jackknife (pepper jack mac and cheese with roasted red peppers, green chiles and crunchy baked top) and Over The Road (spicy orzo and black beans served with fresh veggies and feta cheese). The sandwich was pretty dang good, for a mini slider. The chicken had good flavor and I enjoyed the slaw even though I didn't detect any cilantro or lime notes in it. I think the bbq sauce may have overpowered it. The jackknife? Nothing short of amazing. I could eat this stuff all day long! The pepper jack cheese was creamy and I loved the incorporation of the red peppers and green chiles. Finally the Over The Road was really good as well, though there was a bit more feta cheese on it than I would have liked. Was able to try this place out at the Food Truck Extravaganza event. The line was quite long, my group waited a hour or so however it was worth the wait. Ordered the Speeding Ticket and the Spare Tires. Both sliders were very good however I would have to say that the Spare Tire came out on top for me. The Pork in the Spare Tire with the Spiced Pomegranate sauce was very good! The tang from the sauce worked well with the sweetness of the BBQ pork. It's a $2 portion of macaroni & cheese with pepperjack, red peppers and garnished with a crunchy topping. When I received my order, it was hot and tasted delicious. It's one of the best macaroni & cheese dishes I've had at any BBQ place. This was a great truck to have at the event, because none seemed to have small portions of anything. I've tried Best Truckin' BBQ three times now. I can't complain...mainly because I've liked everything ice tried. So what have I tried? Both the pulled chicken and the pulled pork sliders...both were tasty on a nice bun. The chicken was a little drier, but it wasn't bad at all. And my favorite bite would be the hush puppies. I've tried them a couple times now and they are a definite winner! The batter is tasty. I enjoy the bits of onion. And the dipping sauce has a nice little bite. Quick, friendly service with delicious food! The truck stopped by our apartment complex so I gave them a try. I had the pulled pork sandwich and a bag of Lays chips that came with it. The pork sandwich was very juicy with a very good barbeque sauce. I was impressed with this coming from a food truck. I would definitely eat here again if they were in my neighborhood. First time reviewing a food truck! I had the good fortune of seeing that these guys were going to be at a new craft brewery in Algonquin that just opened recently. So, I got to experience good beer and good BBQ at the same time! We tried two different sandwiches, and agreed that both (Interstate and Expressway) were really good. A side of hush puppies made the meal, and their sauces are unique and memorable as well. The highlight of the meal though was the roasted red pepper aioli that came with the hush puppies. It was my first time trying this food truck today! My boyfriend and I got the expressway, hushpuppies, and the mac and cheese! To start off, the expressway sandwich is a pulled chicken with their slaw, and choice of bun! The chicken was delicious!!! Very soft and moist. The slaw was a unique touch to the sandwich. I could taste the cilantro and lime in it! The hushpuppies were super yummy! I actually enjoyed the sauce that came with them. It added more flavor and made them less dry! My family and I had the opportunity to enjoy a meal from the Best Truckin' BBQ while in Arlington Heights! The one word that comes to mind is "ONO-licious!" I had the "Road Rage" burger with pulled pork and cole slaw on a pretzel bun, and the "Full Throttle" fries. My wife had the "Spare Tires", while my kids had the "Lead Foot Nachos". Everything was beyond what we anticipated and every bite was savored. I was hoping to try other dishes, but by the time I was able to get back, they had closed up shop. Basically, it was THAT GOOD!!! On a slightly serious note, with the rise of so many excellent food trucks in the food industry comes the unique and expressive creativity of the chef/entrepreneur of the mobile operation. It seems as though it's becoming a rarer occurrence to encounter a food truck that serves sub-par offerings (with the exception of personal palate preferences and/or the staff having a rough day). In my experience, food trucks present their customers with a distinctive interpretation of classic dishes, and it's typically worth your while to try a number of menu items to determine your preference. If you want the nastiest BBQ in the Midwest - this is the place for you! How can you call yourself a BBQ truck when the pulled chicken sandwich you served me didn't have the equivalent of an eye dropper worth of sauce on it. The sandwich was BEYOND dry, tasteless and topped with huge chunks of raw cabbage being passed off as some sort of "cole-slaw". BLECH! Oh, and one more thing, building management sent out the menu on Monday, imagine how surprised people were to learn they had raised their prices by $1-2.00 since then. $2.00 for a 12oz can of Coke when their "menu" listed it as $1.00 for a "bottle". I learned Deli-Time owns this rolling mess, having had the misfortune of being forced to to eat there when I forgot my lunch, it doesn't surprise me. This truck was booked to work outside of our high school for a fundraiser. They showed up 20 minutes late and didn't serve their first sandwich until 25 minutes into the lunch period. The menu claims you get a choice of sauce with the Brisket Sandwich, but when I requested a sauce listed on their menu, they said "The sandwich comes with a specific sauce and we are out of the one you requested anyway." Ok so here's the deal - I think I ordered the wrong things. Too many yelpers I adore have rated this place 4+ stars, so I must have done something wrong, cuz I was just a-ok with this truck o' BBQ. I was beyond elated to learn that Best Truckin' BBQ was going to be AT my office last week. Not a good walk away, but liiiiiiterally right downstairs. Perfect for the lazy glutton with discerning tastes! When I walked up to the truck, I had no idea what I wanted and there was kind of a line, so I ordered in a rush. I got the cheese fries, an order of hush puppies, and an Expressway mini pretzel slider. The menu is cute with themed transport names running throughout. The food is ready FAST - I meandered away to smoke (yeah yeah I know I'm trying to quit), and before I could even finish, my food was ready. I eagerly grabbed the bag and went back upstairs to eat at my cubicle. I set the bag down and went to grab a glass of water, and when I returned, pools of oil were spotting my desk. Gross. I looked to see a corner of the bag leaking oil. I cleaned it up and set the food out, and learned the hush puppies were the culprit. SO FREAKIN GREASY. Like I seriously feel like I coulda squeezed some grease out of them if I had tried. EW. I love my fried food good and fried, and this was too much. I tried two and couldn't deal with the feeling it left on my mouth. Shame, too, because the sauce they come with is AHHHHHmazing and I totally used it to snarf my fries. They asked if you wanted a pomegranate bbq sauce or another kind. I had the pomegranate. The sauce was good and the pulled pork was not dry. I got the pork nachos, and I was not impressed. The cheese sauce was grainy, and tasteless. Did it come from a packet? The pork and jalapeños were tasty, but they didn't make up for the cheese sauce. My friend got the Road Rage and didn't like it either. She did say that the pork was good though. The prices were kind of high for the quality. Follow this truck!! If you like BBQ, there are no bad choices on their menu and the sauces to top them off are all fantastic. Drop in a tip and ask for a bit more sauce on the side and drown your french fries in it. I wish this truck was around more often, because it is my best lunch of the month when it is. Was blown away with how great the food tasted! From the bbq sauce to coleslaw and pretzel bun all the way to the meat, everything was so delicious! Saw them in Schaumburg and had a group of co-workers with me, we all tried a variety of different things, all of our plates were cleaned. I purchased the spare tires. The meat to bun ratio was completely off!!! They topped off the sandwich with about 3-4 little strands of cole slaw. Very miserly with their ingredients. Give the people what they pay for! They also was very sparingly with the bbq sauce and meat. Just a terrible product. I will not eat there again! The only thing they gave away freely was the "bun"!
