    Chicken tacos and shrimp taco
    Kristena R.

The chicken here is delicious! It's juicy and flavorful. I had the chicken tacos, a shrimp taco and Spanish rice. The chicken is shredded in the tacos and tastes really good. Shrimp is cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the 1/2 chicken (I've attached a photo), that he let me try and I loved it! It's really cool that they offer 1/2 chickens, and for a good price in my opinion. You can also order a 1/4 chicken. It's definitely filling and convenient for lunch or dinner. Service is efficient- we usually order take out and our orders so far have been correct and ready on-time.

Chicken sandwich, potato salad, and mashed potatoes

Chicken is well seasoned and cooked here. I got the chicken sandwich and it was bussin'. I asked for no mayo, but they were generous and gave me some anyways. My sandwich came with two sides, which I elected for potato salad, which had huge huge huge chunks of potato, decent, but not overwhelming mustard. My other side was mashed potatoes, which was a generous portion with a pretty good turkey gravy. The place was rather loud, from a mixture of the employees yelling out your order, to when it's ready, and the constant banging of utensils, plates, and pans. Food was a 5-star, but the loud banging ambiance and not putting mayo, when I asked for no mayo, I need to take off a star. This place has outdoor seating too, that is covered, so it's a nice option if you want to avoid the noise and sit outside. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the front, the bathrooms consisted of single person bathrooms. The mens was dark, dank, and dingy, but it got the job done. There was a toilet and a sink, which appeared to be in working order. Sit or squat? Squat.

We walked in this place the first thing we noticed is how clean it was, and that they had plenty of seating. There are both booths and tables (we posted a video) We were greeted right away by Nacho he had a big smile on his face and he made us feel like family! He gave us suggestions and the over the counter menu is big, full of pics and very easy to read. We sat down and took out time looking and taking pictures of the menu. When we were ready to order we went back up to the counter (they don't wait on you) They have a Coke fountain machine which we love. They sell beer and other Mexican beverages. Right away we noticed they have Menudo which my wife loves. As a matter of fact she was thrilled with the Menudo here and said she rates this in the top three for sure! No chewy pieces and lots of "meat" I originally ordered the 21 shrimp appetizer for my meal and for just $2 more I got 2 heaping sides. For the sides I chose coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. I also added 10 boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese for only $5.99 and they were mighty spicy. I would would definitely come back for the shrimp meal... the wings were too spicy for me... so if you love spicy wings... you will love them here! Next time I will order the BBQ boneless wings. We will be back for sure! This place is amazing and I highly recommend dining here. Check out the menu and videos we added of our food! They have two bathrooms one woman and one men and they were very clean.

I absolutely love this place. This is a hidden gem that everyone needs to try. The chicken is delicious, and so are the sides. The portions are so big that two people can share and be full. The people working there are kind. The inside smells amazing and feels like a true bbq joint.

@Thehealthinspector8 Fresh hickory roasted chicken daily. Authentic Mexican cuisine and multiple American side dishes. The genuine small family business owner has served the community for 17yrs.

Was excited to try this place and seeing all the sides made me want to choose like 4-5 sides to go along with our chicken meal. We settled on roasted potatoes and cole slaw. The portions are very generous. But the taste is just average to me. Food tasted bland and lacked flavor. We also got the quesabirria tacos and those lacked any flavor. Was a bit disappointed overall with the taste. The chicken was on the drier side but my husband enjoyed it. Maybe I need to give it another try.

Half slab of ribs and quesabirria entreese.

So it was off our list for a while. We've now started eating at the bar, which gets us away from much of the noise, and the food and service are still excellent. Today two of us came for lunch; our server Clarissa was very attentive to my guest's need for a gluten-free meal, and also cheerfully got the pounding music turned down so we could hear each other talk. If only there was a way to address the noise issue overall, I would be happy to give this place five stars...!

It seemed like they had it made due to beating their top selling plate. The chicken had a rubbery feeling, for sure did not meet the hype. We ordered it and it was served very fast. In the other hand, their "Pesto Cavatappi" was served warmed and you could tell it was just made. The chicken on this dish tasted very good and the texture was very different from the Chicken Parm. I would recommend this dish instead of their number one as it was told to us by the server. We ordered two cappuccinos and their Flourless Chocolate Cake. Both cappuccinos were very milky and not warm enough. The dessert was really good but it also took a while to get it. We were half way done with our cappuccinos. Price - I feel they are priced too high for a chicken dish and pasta. Although it is a good portion it is still chicken and pasta. It was $31 for the chicken parm and $26 for the Cavatappi. The dessert was $12 It was a busy day but they should still keep their standards and serve food with the right temperature. I will give it another change for sure.

So we had out of state guests coming in and we all decided on a Friday fish dinner. We call early in the week for reservations for eight plus a child. We called again at 3 pm to confirm our 4pm reservation. They said to get in early about 4 pm because it gets wild at 430. So we arrived at 4 and the bar tender told us of the side room of the bar area. We went into the side room and nothing was set up for a table for eight plus a child. What I presumed an employee came in and set the table up. Several minutes later the bartender came in and said the server was on the way in and should arrive shortly. OK (not) the manager comes in and said you guys don't belong in here and need to leave. She asked who set up the table and the bartender is in tears. I said 1st of we did not set up the table your male employee did. She said we do not have any make employees. Ok I can't do anything about the bartender crying so why are you telling us this. So the eight of us got up only to find not one table for eight was set up in the bar area. Sad ...... So Our out of town guest one a foot surgical foot boot and me carrying my young grandchild walk out is total disbelief. (SHOCKER) We walked a quarter of a mile and had an excellent meal at Mago Grill at 115 Campell Street. The manager at Mago said thanks for coming and I said thank the manager at Eddie's. I highly suggest if you make reservations at Eddie's have a back up plan. The only reason they got a one star rating is because 0 or less was not an option.

There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. They have a nice brunch menu and drinks to match and I want to try them out someday. Let me know if you're going and I'll meet ya there if available.

Not one moment of this did he look friendly or happy to serve a customer.
