We stayed here last night while in Springfield for an appointment this morning. It's hard to find a hotel that's decent with an outdoor pool but this one was definitely it! Traveling in the Midwest and South I've learned to not book an indoor pool during the hot months unless you want to suffocate! We checked in a little after 3:00 pm and everything went great. The lobby is really nice, super clean and the man at the front desk was really helpful. Check-in was easy and went quickly. I booked a room with 1 king which was over right by the pool. My little one had a great time at the pool, while it's small and nothing fancy it was clean and well kept! The room was nice and the bathroom was HUGE! The breakfast seating area was quite big with lots of room for many guests at once and there were a lot of options. For the price I didn't have crazy expectations but it definitely exceeded them. I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area and wanted a hotel with an outdoor pool. read more

We have stayed at this location many times. This year the room was dirty and dusty. There was urine in the toilet seat. It was late so we did not bother the front desk. The bed was comfortable. The shower was adequate. Breakfast was good. The woman working was very nice. The coffee was great. It was very loud over night. Lots of yelling,profanity, pounding on doors, and dogs barking. We arrived at our room around 8 pm. The first thing I always do is check the bed, when I did there was hair on the sheets from the top all the way to the foot of the bed. The trash can by the vanity was full of the previous guest's trash. Overall the room didn't look like it had been cleaned at all. The bed had been made, but the sheets were definitely NOT changed. Nor were they on the bed properly. The pillows looked like they had also been previously used as the pillow cases were wrinkled. When I called the front desk, she offered me to come to the office and get a clean set of sheets. Needless to say, I don't work there and I am not changing the sheets. We left and the woman working the front desk did cancel our reservation. I have not received verification of a refund as of writing this review. Thankfully we were able to get a room elsewhere. When I called the next day to speak with the assistant manager, she was not in. The person who answered the phone stated they were short on help, however, she didn't feel that was an excuse to not have cleaned the room. She and the woman who was working the evening we arrived assured me that they would be letting the manager know of the state the room was in when we arrived. We will not be booking anymore stays with Best Western in any of their locations. read more

2 Nights and 3 hotel rooms and no sleep! Let's start with the positives. The rooms are clean, well at least one of them was, and the service is above par. When we arrived it was late in the evening and there was a line which moved quickly. The person behind the front desk was pleasant and courteous. We were checked in quickly and received our keys quickly. We tried to get into our room, but the lock would not work. We went back to the front desk and requested a new room. The attendant was again nice and obliging. Our second room was on the other side of the complex and we were able to get in fine. The room was immaculate, but the cleaning solution smell was not nice and clung in the air. But you definitely knew it was cleaned. The room was super cute and had tons of quaint personality. I loved the vaulted ceilings. Unfortunately, I think the mattresses were purchased in 1965. There were huge dips in the middle of the bed so you rolled to the center, no matter what. Getting out of it reminded me of my pregnant waterbed days. After no sleep, we went back to the front and asked for a different room with mattress in this century (I didn't really say that, but was hoping for it). Again, the attendant apologized and gave us a different room. This new room was supposed to be one of the newer additions to the complex. There was bitterly smears of who knows what on the bathroom door, which I ended up cleaning off because I was so grossed out! The beds were better, but still super uncomfortable. I did love all the pillows though. They give you soft and firm, 4 per queen. Beware of the uneven floors though. There was also a horrible smell of wet cigarette smoke residue that was quite overwhelming. We left the doors open and ran the air for about an hour. After another sleepless night, due to the somewhat better (but still uncomfortable) mattress and the loud neighbors you could hear through the paper thin walls, we checked out. Usually we enjoy staying at Best Westerns. It is our hotel of choice when we do impromptu adventures. This one, not so much. One thing I did not like were the hints and pushes to tip the housekeepers. I usually do, but I don't like to be told to do it. If the company feels their service personnel deserve more money, then they should pay them more. This time they did not receive a tip due to the crap on the door. BLEK read more

I like that the rooms are a stand-alone. Park the car by the door and it's easily accessed. It helps with kids and pets in tow. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I wish the rooms are more spacious especially since pets are also in it. But, it's not a deal-breaker for us. The large grassy area is a great addition. There's dog treats and complimentary water at the main office too. Breakfast bar had the basic stuff. Overall, a decent place to stay. read more

Overall this hotel was very nice. My biggest concern/issue are the paper thin walls. We were next door to a couple who was arguing all night long. The room itself was very clean, modern, and cozy while being spacious. Our room had one of the best showers I've ever experienced at a hotel. Stopped in for the night on a cross country trip. Don't be put off by the fact that this place is an old school, pull the car in front of your room, "motor hotel". The room and grounds were clean and well maintained. What really set this place apart was the friendly, helpful staff. It was convenient to be able to park just in front of the room. I don't mind going upstairs, but actually no choice in the area. All motels in the area was this style. This is my second time here, both times was here for weekend and both time had hot breakfast I was at another hotel and no hot breakfast, this time I had problems with internet but that not a big deal the staffs is super cool and I will book with them again, the room was clean and quiet got upgraded to two Queens which is not a big deal, no complaints here, try Booking.com this time, my second time to use them no problem, went in and they couldn't find me but kept my emails and they found me, so no complaints u need to check them out, easy access to this place just north of 1-44 read more

Bedbugs! I have been to 3 different Doctors, all with the same clinical diagnosis. Their GM has called me a liar, accused me of "getting this" somewhere else. I'm usually not one to review hotels, but I have to say this Best Western exceeded expectations. We had to stop somewhere overnight for our road-trip, and this was one of the more affordable options along the route. I'd say it falls in the middle range of normal hotel pricing, but during Thanksgiving weekend, it wasn't that far off in pricing from the cheapest options. We arrived right around midnight, and the lobby was locked. I imagine this was just a matter of safety since the front desk clerk, Kaitlyn, was all by herself. Wasn't an issue though since she was super friendly and quick to let us in. When it comes to middle or low range hotels, my expectations are pretty low. I don't expect much, and that's usually what I get. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either. This hotel felt a bit above what I usually experience, and it was nice. You can really tell they care about customer satisfaction, cleanliness, and upkeep. So while this is definitely an older building, they do a really good job of keeping it in good shape. The rooms might be a bit outdated, but I was comfortable walking around without shoes. I'm a stickler when it comes to cleanliness, not design. The breakfast was also pretty impressive. There was a much wider selection than expected, and they had a staff member designated to work the breakfast area. The line up included waffles, eggs (scrambled and boiled), potatoes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, yogurts, cereals, bagels, toast, English muffins, apples, oatmeal, fruit cups, juices, coffee, water bottles and probably more that I missed. There was also a sign that stated they have gluten free options upon request. Worth noting that the cereals were off to the side, and there were little fridges under the counter as well. It's really easy to miss these areas when there's a line of people getting food. I also saw a little espresso/cappuccino type machine in the front area of the lobby, so you can also take advantage of that if it's your thing. As for those who also look up hotels through bedbugreports.com, we didn't find any sign of bed bugs when searching our room. There was a vague report from a few years ago for this location, but there were no signs during our visit November 2019. read more

Staff was super friendly and hospitable! Well lit parking lot, and open grassy areas for pets. Room was spotless. This was a five star experience, with a 2-3 star hotel. Multiple pet areas, they have a pool, I saw a play area, and fitness room. I chose this location because I could park at the door to the room. It's an older property, but has been well cared for. The cleanliness, and nice staff make it 5 star. read more

My boyfriend and I make a trip from Albuquerque to Detroit usually numerous times a year. Often times, Springfield is our half-way point. We have stayed at this Best Western twice and both times we absolutely loved it. Being that we travel with animals, the hotel set-up is extremely beneficial with transporting our pets. The staff has been extremely friendly. Being that both times, we've left too early to get the hot breakfast, the desk clerk has made us bagged breakfasts to-go. The rooms are large and clean. Our 'room' was quite strange....no carpet, two showers in the bathroom (no tub) and the room had a very odd smell---can't even describe it. The whole room just had a strange vibe to it and we would not care to stay here again. Excellent!! Stopped here on our cross country road trip from Rhode Island to California, and this was probably the best night sleep we got. Super dog friendly, and the room was large enough for our 30 pound dog to get some running in, something she hasn't had. They plunge in the middle so we had to sleep on the very edge of the mattress because my husband and I would roll into the center whenever we moved. Dogs barking all night in neighboring rooms. I don't really write reviews, but this place is SO great that I couldn't help it. First and foremost the staff is friendly, courteous and ready to help in any way that they can. My family and I stayed in a 2 queen room. The decor was pleasant, the room was clean and the bathroom area and fixtures were pleasantly appointed. (Long "bar" area with LARGE nicely lit mirror, microwave, mini fridge and nice "cherry hardwood floors.") The first things my children noticed (before we even entered the room) were the playground, the pool and the big grassy area in which they could romp. After 10 hours in the car with scant time to really stretch their legs, these 3 areas all received use by my 3 kids aged 7, 6 and 4. The pool was nice and had a max depth of 5 feet. The playground area has a couple of slides and four swings which provided some amusement. Finally the big grassy area allowed the kids a chance to run around and be crazy in a place that was NOT our room. For the adults, the workout room had a nice elliptical, treadmill, bike and weight machine. The best surprise was attached to the workout room. They have 2 stacked washer dryer machines that you can use for FREE! I had to buy detergent and dryer sheets (75 cents for detergent, 75 cents for 2 dryer sheets), but I did 2 loads (one in each machine) and they washed and dried nicely. On a 30+ day cross country journey with family this was an unlocked for yet welcome bonus. They have a nice work center with computers and a printer for guests to use. Finally, they have a nicely appointed breakfast area. I can't rate the quality because we had an EARLY start before the breakfast center opened but they seemed to have fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal waffles and possibly other hot foods. This hotel was very disappointing. We were immediately concerned when a number of guests were sitting on the common outdoor walkway, smoking and drinking. The sofa had very obvious upholstery damage, seemingly from a pet. The biggest concern was the obvious urine spot on the mattress of the sofa bed which was to be the bed for my grandson. The price for this room was $99. The hotel could offer no other room, so we left. Would definitely not recommend this hotel from my experience. read more

The staff in this hotel are over the top nice! Teddy the maintenance specialist was absolutely incredible at helping my room heater get back to working correctly. Every hotel can have something that can go wrong and the key is how well the staff accommodate the problem. Teddy took great care to make sure changing my room happened seamlessly. Booked through Priceline, no problems at all. This hotel is much cuter than I expected and very well-kept. It's hard when traveling with a dog and this hotel is perfect in this regard. The layout is similar to motels, meaning all rooms are one floor and open to a large courtyard. The pet fee is only $10 which is also nice. Rooms are clean, furnishings are nice and new. Many reasons that we loved this. First, customer service was awesome, they called us when a room first opened up (way before normal check-in) and then they called a few minutes after we got to the room to make sure everything was alright. Every room is on the first floor and the hotel was like a cute little village. Room was very clean and big with king size bed and a small couch. The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well. Shower had a cool big rain shower type nozzel. Oh, we called the hotel directly and they gave us a quote that matched what we were seeing on the Priceline, hotels and booking sites plus added a military discount. If we ever come back to Springfield we stay here again. read more

I'm so happy I went here. I usually stay away from a hotel under $100 because the beds usually suck and it usually smells like mildew or something else in most hotels. But, I was making a cross country fast trip and didn't want to spend a lot of money along the way. This place was great! It was clean, the bed mattress was fantastic, pillows perfect and the internet was BLAZINGLY fast. I complain at almost all hotels that their internet is slow. Theirs was on point! We arrived after a 14 hour drive to find out that the hotel overbooked their rooms. They offered us a smoking room-needless to say we don't smoke. The girl at checkout after we mentioned we were BW members offered to call surrounding hotels. We drive 10-15 minutes to another hotel. Inconvenient--you better believe it. I would not recommend staying here unless you have a backup plan. In response to Jeff P, their GM's response to my concern. There was no confusion on our end ...your staff distinctly stated and this was two of them, Cherylynn and unsure of the other girls name that your hotel "overbooked themselves". Their words not mine. The fact that you even have the audacity to correct me is appalling. I'm glad you can't express "how important it is to call a hotel and let them know that we are traveling with a pet", We did. We actually called prior to our travel to ensure that every hotel was prepared, as we travel with a cat not a dog. We also placed this in hotel notes. As a GM, I feel that next time it is important to not try to educate your guests on "allergies" and "comfortable pet rooms" to save face on a hotel website. Take the ownership and realize that your hotel that you merely work at, made a mistake. People deserve to know an honest review and what occurred, I did just that. In addition, your sarcastic response floors me enough to post what you responded to us with. Stating lies that the direction of the hotel you placed us in was the direction we were traveling in? Corrected information it was not, nor did your employee ever speak to us about where we were staying next. Another attempt to redeem and make my post seem incorrect. The staff checking me in was very friendly, knowledgeable and chatty while fast and efficient at the same time. They upgraded me to a King bed for free which I'm laying in now...it's comfy. Let's see..., I think those are all stock photos, as that is not the first impression you get when staying here. Not sure if it is the shady neighborhood but I would not stay here again. The room it self is not bad & the check-in staff were friendly, but the exterior is a bit scary. It is exterior entry ( not a fan for safety reasons), & part of the building is older/detached & the room entry key system takes a little longer to update ( 10 minutes before the room recognizes the key post check-in). It looks like an old motor lodge that Best Western bought/renovated, as the room interior is nice. The property has 2 outdoor pools ( go to front desk for towels), both of which were quite dirty with long accumulated scum ring at water level. One pool is close to an older metal playground, we went to the cleaner of the two that had a small area that is Waller off for toddlers ( only 8 inches deep) & realized it had rocks & paint chunks settled in the water. The parking lot is pretty beat up, as were the lawn furniture. Most frustrating is the room description, it stated 2 queen beds & a single sleeper sofa ( it is a mini chair with ottoman) not big enough for my 60 pound child. read more
