Travelers that enjoy an extremely filthy toilet, uneven steps of very sketchy concrete, no working extinguishers and exit signs which have not lighted for year and years, filth beyond imagination in the corridors, tv that is decades old, door handles that are installed upside down so it is extremely difficult to enter, and an extraordinarily seedy population that is looking for drugs and action in the parking area, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! read more

Chey was amazing! She was so pleasant and very helpful and made us feel so welcome! She made sure to tell us all about the breakfast and what was being served in the morning as well. Do not stay here!!!! Stayed there this Friday and Saturday night. First impressions were right. Sketchy place. Woke up with ants EVERYWHERE!!!! They were coming out the walls, the clock radio, the phone... ac has mold in it. Changed rooms... the kick plate on the door was busted, mold in the ac, the floors turned socks black, mattresses were atleast 20years old they were saggy. Chair was worn, had tears, room smelled of death. It was awful but they don't refund so we were stuck. Couldn't use the pool because it had construction workers bbq, drinking alcohol and they had one of the rooms tvs by the pool, no place for kids. Will never stay here again. Gave it 1 star because the shower was nice. But the bed...ugh! Disgusting! The mattress literally groaned when I sat on it. When hubby or I turned over in the night, the other was bounced awake. We hardly slept. Motel is close to the highway and rooms are not well sound insulated so there was alot of highway noise. This was not our first choice after looking online. Reviews were not that great. We like to call the front desk of prospective places to get a feel for what to expect. After 2 conversations with Reggie, we picked this hotel. A great choice. Our best stay in a while. Room was clean and nice, bed very comfortable, shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Refrigerator and microwave helpful warming and storing leftovers from local restaurants. So our room was great but the people were outstanding. Amit recommended 3 restaurants to us and they were all terrific. Everyone was super nice and extremely helpful. Would stay here again anytime we are back in area. Absolutely the worst experience booking a hotel I've ever had! This is all my personal opinion. Absolutely the worst booking experience I've ever encountered. The desk clerk (who was very nice) explained that the problem I was dealing with happens a lot. If this is the case, why have the manager or owners not fixed the problem. I was not allowed to check in, and the money I paid in advance for the room has not been refunded. Basically the Covington Best Western kept money for services not rendered. Due to the time of night, after already driving 500 miles I had to travel another 30 minutes to find a hotel with late night check-in. I have had outstanding service, and wonderful stays at other Best Western locations across the U.S. In fact I chose the Covington Best Western because of my previous experiences with other Best Westerns. The Covington Best Western is a black mark on Best Western's good name. If you are traveling with emotional companions avoid this hotel at all costs. It may, as in my case cause more unwanted unnecessary stress. read more

If I could rate this hotel a zero, I would. The room we were given was disgusting. The floor was sticky, the bedside table was sticky, there was candy wrappers in one of the beds, candy wrappers and dirt on the bathroom floor, and the door knob for the bathroom floor was falling off. Since it was 2am (late flight arrival), we decided to deal with it in the morning. The next morning I requested to change rooms. We room we were given was on the first floor instead of the second floor. I was told they were giving us an upgrade and waiving the upgrade fee. I looked at the room and it was the exact same kind of room. I asked what was the "upgrade." Management responded that since they don't have an elevator, first floor rooms are more expensive for the convenience of not having to use the stairs. Except I had already carried our luggage up the stairs the night before and check in and then back down the stairs when we moved rooms. So really, no convenience or upgrade was actually afford to us. We were simply paying the same price for the same kind of room. That night when we returned to the room and went to shower, we noticed the shower curtain was moldy. So the next morning we got a new shower curtain from management. Later that week, the one day we requested (via the door hanger) for our room to be serviced, it was not. When I checked out, I asked to be refunded for one night, of our 8 night stay, to be refunded for the inconveniences. Management refused stating they had accommodated us. I have called customer service for Best Western corporate, and they will not do anything either. I travel frequently for work and this is the worst experience at a hotel I have had. I know this is not reflective of the experience at all Best Western properties. However, those we were there visiting, we told them to never let any guests stay at that hotel. read more

So I'm a regular customer I stay at this hotel anytime I come to town but after this horrible experience I won't ever be back! We get in the room and the bed is broken halfway on the floor and making a very cloud clanking noise the TV doesn't work at all and neither does the phone so I went down to the front desk and asked for either a discount or to be switched to a different room and the man who said his name was Amant and claimed to the hotel which was a blatant lie after doing research refused to move us or accommodate us at all. For the amount of money you spend in here it should be comfortable. There was absolutely no reason for this man to be so hostile and rude. I will never be back, I will make everyone aware of this place who I know in the area and I have a lot more reviews to write so that the word gets out there. This is no way to treat a guest. So, I almost jumped the gun here and left a 4 Star review. Glad I waited. The reservation for one night was made online using rewards points. Then I called ahead to let them know we'd be checking in late and to ask if they had cribs onsite. Mary was a delight to talk to and was very helpful. She made notes to our account and also informed me that they didn't have elevators. She said she didn't want us to get there late at night to find out that we'd be having to lug our stuff up the stairs. This was definitely info I appreciated. Then we arrived in the middle of the night as expected and when checking in, the lady at the front desk informed us that the pack-n-play was already set up in the room. The emotions I felt when hearing this, after a very torrential drive in, were almost overwhelming. So, I gave her my debit card, checked in, and got settled into our room. As most places do, they put a hold on our card for incidentals, so once in our room, I check our account out of curiosity about the amount that they put on hold. 2 separate charges. She had charged the room to our card (which was already paid for with points) as well as the incidentals ($50). But, people make mistakes, no big deal. We discussed it with Mary the next morning, they corrected it, and eventually both charges fell off of our account. However, as we're settling into the room and getting our little one ready for bed, my husband tells me he's not comfortable with putting her in the pack-n-play. He then lets me know that he saw a roach by the air conditioner and the pnp is so close to the ground, it freaked him out. Remember, it's past midnight and we've been on the road for nine hours with an infant, who we had come to realize during this trip, hates car seats. We were not about to load up all our stuff and hunt for another place to stay for just a few hours in a bed all because of one little roach. There was not enough room for the 3 of us to squeeze into this Queen size bed. I won't go into all the details of what we did to ensure her safety, but the end result was my husband and I sleeping sideways on a Queen mattress with her safely nestled in between us. The next morning we grabbed breakfast from the lobby. Standard continental breakfast fare - fruit, waffles, eggs, breakfast meats, breads, cereals, juice, etc. After breakfast, while coming out of the shower, I saw another roach crawling around on the toilet and I was ready to get the hell out of there. As we were gathering up our things, my husband found dead roaches in one of the cups of soda that had been left on the nightstand! We were so disgusted!! Had I known how bad the roach infestation really was, I would have never stepped foot into the breakfast room The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of Mary. read more

Best western in Covington was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had! First issue was with check in. Last minute booking and I was traveling with 2 pets, one being a cat. Looking on Hotels.com I saw BW in Covington allowed "pets" and no mention of NOT allowing cats. I also needed an early check in and called to confirm. NOTE: They have since updated "Hotels.com" to show that Dogs are only pets allowed. This would have been helpful before I booked and was not allowed to move to the hotel right behind BW which allowed cats. I would have been charged for a full day. Arrived the following day at 1:00 and was told no cats. Tried to cancel as the hotel right behind BW also allowed pets. But I was being charged for a day even tho I had just booked day before. AND had to pay $250 cash for a deposit. I'm from out of town and got charged extra to withdrawal cash!  I also travel a lot and have never been charged for an early check in. The room was ready and empty so why charge early check in? Not normal. At this point the person should have just said I will cancel your reservation. Showed them the hotels.com did not mention "NO Cats". Very inflexible. Room window was so dirty you couldn't not see out. Taking a shower next morning before having to work I noticed a light coming in from behind shower head and faucet. Bent over to look and you can see right into the Maintenence room! The front desk actually knew about it!!! This room should have never been rented with this issue. They offered to move me but I was already unpacked and had back to back work calls and no time. I had to cover the gap with towels!  This is not ok. Finally they called my room 3 times that day -Thursday - to come in and run new cable. And "it has to be done today!" I told them I was on calls til 2 so come back at 2:00. I had to change my plans to wait on them to come install. Then front desk called again and said well they're now going to do tomorro or Saturday. What happened to "it must be fine today?"  Anyway I said I'm leaving Saturday so just do it then. Friday, again I am working from hotel on back to back meetings til 1:00. During my work time the front desk called twice and Maintenence knocked on my door as well. After I told them I could not be interrupted. Finally, the install of the cable was going on around me all day Friday and the noise was just crazy. Not to mention my pets, which I had paid $80 extra and $250 deposit were freaking out because of the noise so my plans for Friday afternoon were ruined! Let alone the noise while I was working. Anyway, this truly was the WORST hotel experience I've ever had! Would not recommend BW hotels. A refund would be great! Here's some pics and recording documenting. read more

In town while driving to Florida, we stopped here both on the way in and on the way home mainly because of location, but price was also a factor. This review is a summary of both trips, but any specifics will be about the trip home as it's been a while and I'm liable to forget anything specific from that time. So, on with the review. Arriving around 4pm, check in was quick and easy. Liz remembered me from my previous trip and welcomed me back, remembering my room preferences (no, she didn't look it up). Our room was a standard 2 queen room (228 on way in, 236 on way out) which, on the outside, looks like a 1980's travel motel. However, on the inside, things were night and day different. The beds are super soft and comfortable, the tv reception is decent and the wifi is ok. (the closer you are to the center of the building, the better your signal, so ask for a room in the middle if you need good reception). The room itself is standard sized with a coffee maker, iron and board, microwave and ridge. There are plenty of power sockets and there is a plush leather chair in this room (soft enough my daughter slept on it both times). Our reservation includes free breakfast, which consisted of bacon, sausage patties, egg rounds (for sandwiches), biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal and pastries. The only bad things I can say about this property is the fact that roku and chromecasts won't work due to the wifi gatekeeper software and the fact that there is no sleep timer option on the tv's. One would think this would be standard in hotels., but alas. We will definitely be back to the Northpark Inn on future trips to the NOLA Area and recommend it to any who are looking for a good night sleep without breaking the bank. read more

From the moment I arrived the staff took care of my every need. I was always greeted with smiles and warm Hellos. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, so I can't really comment there. The room was recently upgraded, so everything had a fresh look and clean feel. The bed was comfortable, but the comforter was thin. That was easily solved by requesting a blanket that they promptly delivered. I spent four days and would highly recommend it. read more

Family of 4, after staying here while road tripping we are pleased! Best western will be the place we choose when on the road. The room was spacious and included: microwave, refrigerator and all other usual things. It was clean and felt safe. Parking is right outside the door. Breakfast was great! There is a Burger King next door and considered going prior to seeing what was served. They have fruit, cereal, pastries, biscuits and gravy, egg, bacon, sausage, waffles. Made reservation for Mardi Gras week. The day before my trip I received a call that the reservation was being cancelled due to a water problem at the hotel. I asked where they had moved my reservation and was told THEY DIDN'T DO THAT AND DIDN'T HAVE TO", but I was told, there were plenty of hotels with openings. I understand issues where a hotel has to cancel a reservation, but not finding alternate lodging, especially the day before arrival is reprehensible. read more

As soon as I received notification of my cancelled event I called the hotel and the Best Western customer service to attempt a cancellation. I was told a cancellation would not be possible so I decided I'd stay in the room anyway. When I arrived, very tired after a long drive, I was told that there was no reservation under my name and that there were no rooms available. The lady behind the desk apologized profusely claiming that her general manager would be upset that this situation occurred and would contact me the next day to seek resolution. When I didn't hear from him I called his Best Western and was forwarded to his voice mail. Best Western customer service investigated and found that the hotel booked my room to another person after charging my credit card for the night prior to my original reservation. read more

You get what you pay for. The rates are cheap (I usually bid $64 a night)there is plenty of well-lit parking and hotel is clean. This is not a fancy resort but the staff is always great to me and my daughters. The pool is clean and well-maintained. (Although they almost encourage kids to pee in the pool since there is no bathroom nearby. What kid gets out of a pool to pee if they have to go across the parking lot to their room?) The free breakfast is worth it for the Community Coffee. Love it! (The reconstituted eggs gotta go and please put out some fresh fruit.) read more

This continental hot breakfast was excellent as well as the dining room was A+ clean (great job, Lisa) Everything was fresh..the bacon, sausage, biscuits and eggs. They have a 4-mini Waffle maker, timed perfectly, so the waffles were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The maker, very, very, clean. They have hot biscuit gravy, cereals, fresh fruit along with fresh bagels, bread and danish. A variety of juices were on tap and their cream was exceptionally cold. Lisa was on top of it all and she never skipped a beat. Coffee, hot & fresh both at check in at 8pm and both times in the morning, 6:30 & 8:10. I was overly impressed. If anyone decided to make their overnight stay at this Best Western, you're making a great choice. read more

Stayed here with family a couple weeks ago. The location is really good -- right near the highway and just down the street from Walmart and lots of good restaurants. Outside access to the hotel rooms, but the building stretches away from the street so noise wasn't an issue. The rooms were newer, very clean with everything you'd expect from a budget property. The free Wi-Fi was a nice bonus. Biggest plus was a very high-quality breakfast bar that was on par with much more expensive hotels. Great job by Brennetta the breakfast manager. Overall a very good experience and would stay here again. Will note the TV options aren't great for little kids, so bring an ipad with Netflix because you aren't getting Sprout/DisneyJr/NickJr/etc. to keep them occupied. read more

July 4 weekend Construction work on concrete pathways and stairs outside the rooms of this traditionally laid out motel. Price for room was $135 despite construction and having to sign that I acknowledged there would be construction noise between 7.30am and 5 pm (on a Sunday!!!). At 11.30pm on Saturday night they were still laying concrete on the stairs to the second floor-so much for construction noise only during the day. Rooms low ceiling and old. Should have closed motel for construction. Rooms should have been sold at discount not at premium rate for holiday weekend. A rip off!! read more

Mary is the very best thing about this hotel. She's warm and friendly and helpful. This is a very average and generic hotel. The room was only okay. Not horrible, but not nice. The furnishings are very old and worn out. The reasons we won't be back is the mattress is rock hard. We prefer a firm mattress but it was like sleeping on bedrock. The toilet seat is so low it might as well be on the floor and there's no outlet on one side of the bed for a laptop or phone. If you have any skeletal or joint issues the bedrock mattress and very low toilet seat will completely eliminate a comfortable and restful night. read more

Worst hotel experience ever! Desk operator Michael was incompetent. My family arrived just before midnight, exhausted, and were put into a room only to be called at 1:00am to move rooms!!! We woke up my daughter and gathered all of our luggage to move rooms at 1:00am because Michael put us in "the wrong room" and told us we'd be compensated for moving. So we go to the next room he gives us keys to and as I'm opening the door a dog starts barking from inside the room and coming towards me!!! I quickly pulled the door close because I realized there were already people in the room! Oh my Lord! Best Western's incompetence almost got me shot!!! Seriously we are so lucky that the people sleeping in room didn't shoot us! So I went back to Michael at the front desk only to be told that the only room now available is a pet room and sorry that we don't have a pet with us but we'll be compensated. We were told there were no rooms available at any other hotels in town because of a lacrosse tournament in town. Y'all I just wanted to go to sleep! We'd already been on the road for 5 hours and had to drive another 7 hours the next day. The pet room stank to high heaven but we had to sleep. We slept in the room thinking we were not going to have to pay for this crap BUT guess what?! Best Western will not refund the money because we booked with Orbitz and Orbitz will not refund the money because they spoke with the hotel manager Jason and he doesn't want the money refunded to us. The manager Jason did call to apologize but yet he's not willing to return our money to us! So heed my advice and DO NOT STAY at this hotel. They do not care about people and whether or not they almost get you killed! read more

Horrible experience! They have construction everywhere! Pipes coming out of the outside walls, screws/ nails on floor, bulldozers/crane and its parts scatters around sidewalks, pieces of cement all over(not swept), cigarette buds outside rooms. Workers inappropriately whistled at me and my 1 yr old as I arrived. The front desk lady was not inviting either. Inside the room there was pieces of gravel/ cement tracked in on the carpet. Then our neighbors were up late yelling and talking outside our door keeping us up. The hotel was not packed at all, they should have not had us next door to people. The hotel should have been closed for this much construction. It was a mess! Or they should do the construction in sections. I can't believe I paid $75 to stay here. read more
