Had an issue where the sink wasn't draining and it was after hours for maintenance. We were promptly moved to an upgraded room which was nice. The minute we walked into the room, it smelled wet and damp. My husband said a little like mildew. One of the trash cans in the room had the previous guests trash. It was an empty toy container. Not a big deal but shows lack of attention to detail. My son slept on the pullout sleeper which was like sleeping on straight coils. The noise of him turning kept us up too. From the point of check in and being received like part of the family to the day to day care and attention to details they took from their breakfast selections to the daily room cleaning. We had a wonderful trip. The breakfast is a good selection for anyone that visits. Our daily room service was so attentive they would fix our beds and lay out our bed clothes if they were on the bed.... No other hotel would do this!!! This seems like it used to be the go-to spot to stay on this side of the lake in terms of hotels, and based on other reviews, it looks like it was renovated some time ago. While I'm not sure when that was, it might be in need of another renovation ... or at least a deep clean. The room was definitely not in the best shape, and it just had the feeling of being outdated and old. I do like that it was styled in the NOLA way as opposed to the clean cut, sometimes sterile-ish HIE across the country. However, it definitely needs a fresh update. Also, the breakfast, while generally great, was not very full in terms of options and they mislabeled the turkey sausage, which made for an unpleasant taste once I started eating in the car after leaving. Just a good bit of things they could do to make this a stellar place, but otherwise, it was a fine place to stay if needed. read more

They have a very sneaky policy on refunds. My wife was in the hospital, and thus I missed the first night. Generally, the hotel charges you one night. This hotel, however, charged me 100% of ALL the stay. Very dishonest and very disreputable way of doing business. I reached out and asked for them to waive at least the second day, and they said no. Well, that tells you a lot about how they do business. If you stay there, do not prepay and be careful on all your charges. read more

The stay was fine enough, but the management lectured me for entering through the convenient double doors next to the elevators instead of taking an extra 5 minutes to walk through the entire hotel. We usually stay at Choice Properties but stopped at this exit and had gone far enough! We travel with our "real" retired service dogs (no fake ones) and the front desk was welcoming. The room was quite quiet and tastefully appointed. Most important, it was clean and quiet. The black out curtains almost worked 100% and would have if I didn't forget my clothes pin to clip both sides together! The mattresses were comfy. We like a very firm mattress. I would say this was a medium or medium firm. But we both slept well. The included breakfast was nicer than any that we get at Choice's properties! They had a pancake machine, eggs that weren't runny or burnt, yogurts, sausage and gravy and biscuits, nice variety of cereals. The property is close to a nice strip mall with a Target and Tesla Superchargers, gas stations etc. A very nice touch is there was a black stripe of tiles on the floor that led to the toilet. Why is this relevant? Because in the middle of the night the black stripe leads your to the toilet without the need to turn on the light! Well done Holiday Inn Express! read more

The hotel looks like a resort from the outside. It sits back at the end of a large lot. The landscaping is lovely and there is a large portico that makes check-in and check-out easy. The lobby is spacious and modern. The front desk staff are young professionals who seem like hoteling is their career choice and they plan to move up in the company. Cool! The rooms are clean and well appointed. My special requests were granted! Oh, and there is a restaurant downstairs offering a limited menu and room service. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by all of this as I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before. A Great value. read more

We rented a suite and were blown away by the room! It's currently a brand new hotel and it shows. The decor etc is lovely and the staff was super friendly and helpful! Great location as well! There is a Belk, Target and new Chucky Cheese within walking distance as well as several other stores! Loved our stay here! read more

Stayed May 28, 2018. Place looked good from the street. Reception desk was empty, no one around, sign said I stepped away, be back soon. I shoulda left then. When she finally waddled back we rented a room, expensive for an empty hotel. Room had a blinking bathroom light and the stopper in the tub drain was malfunctioning.' Got keys to another room across the hall--- room was smoked in and stunk. Got keys to another room down the hall, OK excepting dirty bathroom and road noise from I-10 is very loud. Great hospitality. Clean, large, and very sharp looking rooms. But, best of all is the fact that they have gluten free bagels at their free continental breakfast along with pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy,eggs, cinnamon rolls, and fresh fruit. Great stay! read more

what a terrible experience! they have gone downhill fast. we have been staying here since it opened and now will never stay again. we got back to the hotel at 10pm and neither of out keys worked. once we got in, we saw that are room had been "cleaned" but there were no towels, not even the ones we had used that day! when we called down we were told that they were out of towels and would not have them until 8 the next morning. unfortunately I had to leave at 6am. we also noticed that they took the garbage bag out of the container but kept it on the desk! the next day we left early in the morning and came back at 3. Our room had not been made up so we asked for towels only. it is now 6 and we still don't have the towels. whenever I ask to speak to a manager they tell me there is no one available. I expect better service from IHG especially cause when you look g onto their website, they boast on how clean they keep the hotels! read more

The staff was friendly and helpful answering my questions and fulfilling my needs. First night I left a few bucks on the dresser for the maid and it was still there the next day after she had cleaned up. Very nice hotel. We booked it online a few hours before and the check in process was very fast. The front desk staff was really nice and polite. The hotel lobby and room is clean, new, and beautiful. The ac was a little bit loud but we turned it off anyway. I have stayed at many hotels and for $100, this hotel is a very good option. Also, they have free breakfast, which is a plus if you don't have time to go to a restaurant in the morning. There are many stores around near the hotel like target and CVS. AND they share their parking lot with Sam's club and movie theater, so there are more than enough parking lots. Highly recommend this hotel! read more

Beautiful room and very nice hotel, clean. The problems start with the bed. Horrible! Uncomfortable and weird hard, like it's about to crack. Then sheets that are so rough and pilled it was like an all night exfoliation, the good news, thanks to the awful bed i tossed and turned all night, should be a nice uniform smoothness to my skin. There is no mattress pad on the bed, so to add to overall rough feel, a thin sheet rubbing on a bare mattress. Sorry to be such a ray of pitch black but it's 7 am and I am giving up on this bed. This place as as perfect as I've had. Great hospitality from the entire staff. This may have been the most quiet hotel I've stayed in. Staff was thoughtful of noise in the morning, doors shut quietly, could not hear neighbors any of the four nights we stayed. The bedding was perfect and room temperature was manged by thermostat making it a constant comfort. Bedding was so comfortable we actually bought two pillows. Breakfast was hot,, delicious, and plentiful. Location inside the city was fantastic as its close to many restaurants, shopping, and theaters. Great location as well as it provides easy access to the interstate for travel to New Orleans and Baton Rouge! I highly recommend this property and I will definitely stay here if even remotely close to the area. read more
