When we arrived we were great by a young man with good customer. When walked into the room we were hit with a damp faint mold smell. We thought it was the carpet until we went into the bathroom and saw the mold on the ceiling right over the shower head. We can tell renovations we're done but the mold issue needs to be addressed. Also the price of the room($124) was too high for an area with exposed crack beads and prostitutes. We will not return to this location. read more

Not to bad. Beds were very comfortable, linens were clean as most everything was. Had a musty smell and carpets need cleaned. All the provided shampoo, conditioner & body soap containers were empty which was unfortunate because they were nice products. Hand soap container was empty also but had a refill left by the sink to use. Again if they're empty why not change them out. (Just the little things) The continental breakfast was laking. Nothing nutritional except an apple. Just dry cereal, oatmeal packets juice & make your own waffle cooker. We couldn't get a discount (AARP) because they felt the room cost was low enough. For our small pup we had to pay a 50$ hold on our card, which was to be refunded if there was no room damage. We'll see if that happens. We'd stay here again in a pinch but honestly there were lots of options in that area. Prices were competitive so I'd probably pick somewhere else. read more

The reviews are all over the place on this Best Western. You either love it or hate it. So we gave it a try and gave an honest review. It was fine... My wife & I were traveling cross country and spent one night here. Like most people who have commented (even those that hate the place) the staff is very friendly. The eating area for breakfast is sparse so don't expect a lot. We elected to drive to the Cracker Barrel just down the street. The rooms were clean but like the dining area, it's sparse, a little on the drab side but for $98 with tax what do you expect. The television was huge! At least 58"if not 65" The area is a wee bit sketchy but there was no overt sign of criminal activity. I'd say for night or two passing through, it's fine read more

I don't recommend stopping in this area for the night. Hotel is nice, called front desk about muggy atmosphere in my room, could barely understand front desk dude over crackling phone shoved into drawer next to bed. Spent 20 minutes fiddling w/ thermostat & finally got it to work. Hot shower feels good, hot & cold water are reversed on sink. Paper thin doors- you can hear conversations in the hallway plain as day. No hot water- I called the front desk and he said he'd "hit the reset" I don't know much about hot water heaters but I call BS. The water never got hot. Unclean surfaces- at first I thought there's not way they didn't clean the drink and food stains off the furniture surfaces. Because of covid I figured they were just old stains embedded in the paint or laminate. Nope. Swiped over them with a wet towel and it came back red and black. Huge disappointment for the nightly rate. I paid $97/night and I'll be shocked if I don't wake up with fleas or lice. I'd rather sleep in my truck in a target parking lot. read more

During all of the Corona Virus mess, the breakfast buffet was closed and instead we were offered a brown bag breakfast to go. But the great part....the small touch that made my day....happy face on my bag! It's the small things. Bravo. Also, they offered a refund for the night that I didn't need after being sent home early from working in Lafayette. Room was sold to me as non-refundable but I didn't even have to ask. A complete waste of money. Rooms weee filthy. Hair was left in shower and on floor, tub did not drain, dried piss on the toilet, and the towels were dirty! Front desk agent refused to cancel the room, and had to force him to come and check the rooms for himself. After he switch us to another room where the air conditioner did not work, I requested a refund and cancellation of rooms. read more

The staff were super helpful but it's not safe. We walked in to the lobby smelling like pot, then our floor smelled like it and lastly, when I went to walk my dog, there were people smoking pot in the parking lot. We found bricks near cars and think they were placed to cause damage. The front door clerk did call the police. The room itself was clean and well maintained. read more

With all the mixed reviews we stayed here one night. Front desk was friendly but that's all the good I can say. They obviously don't clean well. There was a coat in the closet. Someone enjoyed pistachios since there were shells in bathroom. 2 adults and only 1 bath towel. Had to go to front desk for more. No bath floor mat for when you get out of shower. Shower water temperature was warm never got hot. Sink water was also luke warm. Only one side of the bed had a light on night table. We moved the one from the desk. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Room next to elevator and never heard it. Which was good. Not on the street side so didn't hear outside noise. A pleasant surprise. Very nice spot. Very clean and either recently built or remodeled. Friendly service. Super comfortable bed, fantastic shower. So why 4 stars and not 5? Noise. I could easily hear the person above me walking, plus there was lots of noise from the lobby. Noise! Sounded like the people above us were doing a gymnastics routine last night. Had to call the front desk and it stopped eventually. Then this morning I awake to very loud talking. It was a jolt but I was still foggy so not sure where it was coming from. Turns out it was from the lobby. Not sure if it was an audio book or the television. But by the time I shuffled down the hall at 4:30 am to ask them to turn their it down I was still asleep but also too awake to go back to sleep. The employee turned it down promptly but now I am listening to him set up the breakfast area and sleep won't return. Came in late and didn't really look at room. Too tIred. Has potential if they take care of noise. Seems clean enough and has convenient location. I have stayed here before and not had the noise issue. My purpose here is a to sleep and it didn't happen. The customer service is less than to be desired at this Courtyard location. The front desk says as little as possible during their interaction at check-in, every question I asked was answered with a no, the next day when I asked for a late check out that was answered with a "no" as well. To be fair, it wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in; it was the second. I stayed at a Ramada years ago where my son and I got bed bugs. That was horrible. This Howard Johnson merely reeked of pot when we entered the hotel to go to our room last night and off cigarette smoke this morning. Oh, we were also awakened by pounding on the bedroom door at 0630 by someone saying they were front desk staff. I'm military and we do regular training to not open the door. I asked that he return to the front desk and call. I called a few minutes later and told him what happened. He rudely stated it was him. I began telling him about security training we have and he said "I don't need to hear about that shit" and hung up on me. Oh, then, there was the pubic hair in the bathtub. This had potential but it just fell short. The good: it was quiet and fairly clean. Items of concern were: - The TV channels didn't work below channel 23 so you couldn't get the basics like ABC, NBC, or CBS. - The showerhead didn't work properly. - The toilet didn't flush well. - The air conditioner smelled musty. - The carpeting looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while - particularly around the walls and behind the door. - Dust could be found in places - generally in areas that you wouldn't dust if you thought you didn't have to. - The ice bucket was dirty - inside and out. - Trash was on the floor from a prior occupant. - Breakfast - the OJ tasted watered down and the hard-boiled egg had the texture of hard rubber and tasted like vinegar. The moment that made this a "won't go back" for us was when the desk clerk asked how our stay was. I mentioned our concerns and was told that I just didn't adjust the shower head properly (I am far too short to reach it) and then gave me a 10 minute lecture on how difficult it was to get good housekeeping staff. So... here's the scoop. It's a perfectly acceptable hotel for a road trip stop. It's more of a 3.5- 3.8 star hotel, but it was a pleasant experience. It's right off the highway so that was a plus. The rooms were clean and they accepted pets for 20 dollars. The service was exceptionally friendly The hotel room was clean (the shower had some issues but nothing to lose sleep over) They had a moderately decent free breakfast. Our room key had issues and we needed someone to help us and my mom had to go back to the lobby twice before we figured it out, but the staff was very helpful and friendly so it made that situation not that big of a deal.. we were just tired from a long day of driving and waiting at a hotel across the street that no longer had rooms.. so this was this was a little bit of a nuisance, but we were just happy to have a room The friendly service and hotel itself was 5 stars for the price, but due to the room key issues and the shower head not functioning properly, I can't give a full 5 stars. read more

This spot will take all your belonging put them in a bin and not even call you if you are not checked out. I under stand but we did not know being we work on the road. No one called us no one let us know. Plus We had a small roach in our bathroom I had to kill. They also did not pack up my coworkers 100$ toothbrush it just seems to be missing when mine is here. First let me say the address is not updated on google maps. It took us to a remote area of an empty lot on a dead end street. When we called to get directions the receptionist stated that the owners have not updated the address on the internet map services. We were very tired from driving since the early morning and it was now getting late at night. We became lost by the directions from our cell phone and called the motel to obtain directions. We spoke to a person, we assumed was at the hotel, described our surroundings and direction and she told us to keep heading north on 49. We asked if she was sure as we were driving to another town and she told us to keep going. We said we are more than 5 miles away from I10 and you previously stated that you were right off the 10 freeway. Again she said that we were going the right way and to keep going. After 3 more miles my husband said you have no idea what you're talking about and hung up. We turned around and started back to the I10 which was 8 miles away at this point. Once we crossed under the I10 the hotel was a little ways down on the right. So needless to say we were not happy. The thermostat in the room was not operational so we had no control over the HVAC. It was 42 degrees outside. Also they were not very generous with the towels. The breakfast was nothing to brag about either and we went elsewhere to eat. While in the process of leaving we noticed some police cars out front. Some customers were filling out police reports while others were checking out their cars to assess the damage that was done to them that evening. The car next to us had its driver's side window broken out and her belongs were stolen. We were fortunate that we have a very good alarm system on our car and it was not touched. After 20 years of staying at Best Western, I will NEVER return again. read more

So upon arival. Mehel was great and super friendly. We got to our room everything is clean. Room 128 was a little small with all of our luggage it was a little compact. Our room smelled like fresh paint and the channels were weird. The rooms were quite and I sleep great on the beds. Defiantly reccomend this place. Every once in a while this happens, you book your hotel with an online company (Booking.com) and after driving 12 hours to reach your destination they tell you that you don't have a reservation. Not only did I get the 'oh well too bad' but not even to offer me a different room with a king bed instead of 2 queens. Bathtub wasn't very clean, there were hairs still in the tub. Internet barely functioned so streaming anything wasn't possible it barely worked just for general browsing. My husband, 1 year old son and I stayed here last week. I wouldn't stay again. The front desk was often vacant and took major searching to find anyone to help...like the time our keys stopped working. The breakfast gave us upset stomach. The room smelled musty and was hot. There was mold in the tub jets and shower. We found several roaches in the bathroom. The pool had a broken rail and ladder and was slimy on the bottom. Don't be fooled by Best Western's system for designating the level of their various inns - BW, BW PLUS, and BW PREMIUM. This place was definitely better than the BW PLUS we stayed at the night before over in Texas - and cost $60 less. Great value. More pillows (and bigger), nicer bathroom and more water from the shower, better sheets on bed, more selections at breakfast, etc. We'll be coming back next time through. Oh yeah, and the staff was definitely friendlier than most motels. read more
