We were only here for one night, so I can only speak of my 24 hr experience. The front desk was very accommodating and pleasant. We were in Cedar City due to a family emergency, driving in from Ark we were exhausted. We were allowed to check in a little early so we could deal with the crisis at hand. We arrived in Cedar City at 1pm and called the hotel about an early check in. We were told they had no rooms ready, so we hung out for a little bit. We arrived at 2:45pm, check-in is listed at 3:00pm. As I approached the front desk, I was not greeted. No name tags on any employee. One women was on the computer and never looked up. The other women who was messing with keycard folders, finally acknowledged that her lobby was full. I said checking in, she nervously said they had no rooms cleaned and the other women stood up, very pissed off. Looked at her co-worker, as if we weren't standing there and said in a very nasty voice, "they will have to wait until 3 for check in. We have no clean rooms." To which I replied, "I have worked in the hotel industry, there is no way, there isn't a room available, 10 minutes before check in time. You aren't going to turn over 200 rooms in the next 10 minutes, have you not been cleaning them all morning?" She completely waived me off and said, "3:00pm is check in." So at 2:58pm magically they had a room for us to check into. There were pubic hairs all over the bathroom sink and the bath tub. Gross. I let the water take them down the drain. A bag of garbage sat at the top of the stairs for an entire day, not even closed up. Literally in the path of the stairs, fire hazard. My husband reminded the front desk that it was up there at 7pm still. She sighed and said she would get to it. There is NO hot water, no matter what time of day or night you shower. Luke warm at best. Day four and the stairs have not been vacuumed once, since being here. At breakfast, I was pushed to the side by a breakfast attendant twice, so she could grab her rags, as I was reaching for items. We needed a roll away bed for our last night here and requested the bed on day 2 of our stay and we were told that they don't reserve beds, they are first come, first serve. I was instructed to come down first thing in the morning the day I needed the bed. 730am I went down to the front desk to do so. While I waited my turn, I listened to another guest conplain about her stay and watched her show pictures of all the bugs in her room and the hotel tub. The front desk attendant said and I quote, "You didn't have to stay here, you could have checked out immediately and been given a full refund." The hotel guest then said, "There were no other rooms." To which she got a reply, "Look, I wasn't here last night, so I don't know what happened." And she kept looking down at her computer screen, while the customer continued to tell her about her experience. She couldnt even give her the respect of eye contact while speaking to her and acknowledging her frustrations. Basically taking no accountability for the company she works for. I step up to the desk to request my roll away to which I am told, "We have none that have been turned in, come back at 3pm, when it is check in." Seems like there are no processes in place to know when beds are turned in. My husband check again, upon our return from lunch and shopping and he was told they dont have any beds yet and check back later tonight. She put our room on a list of requested rooms that needed a rollaway. I grabbed my book and sat in the chairs on the second floor and waited for house keeping to be done cleaning the rooms. It was about 230pm. I asked him. "Hey, do you happen to have any rollaway beds in that storage closet? We have been waiting all day to have one delivered." He opened up the storage closet and sure enough there were two rollaway beds just sitting in there. Ridiculous that the front desk either doesnt know they are available or too lazy to check the closet. I guarantee they will never call us or bring a roll away to our room today. The 3pm shift arrived for work and I proceed to hear about how pissed off the front desk clerk was having to listen to everyone complain about the rooms. And the lady that showed up to work, asically agreed. The male bousekeeper who works on the second floor asked a housekeeping lead if she had checked out his rooms, so he could put his cart away and go home. She said, just go, no need. The male housekeeper was trying to follow protocal. I am disgusted by the attitude of every single person that works in this hotel, except for the male house keeper that works the 2nd floor. I am now sitting in the room itching everywhere; the thought of bugs in this place eww. I have personally not seen one in my room, but if there are bugs in one room, there are bugs in all the rooms. Eeek. I needed a new room key. As I had lost my key. The front desk made me new room keys, asked for my name, but never my photo ID to prove who I was. So basically anyone has access to your room, if they know your room number and your name. That is such a security/safety breach!!!! Never ever would that be acceptable at another hotel. I'm glad I took my time to think about this review because there's an old saying not to judge a book by its cover. As someone who has judged writing contests, the biggest lesson we learn is to judge based on content and not to compare to other stories. So how does this apply to Comfort Inn? It's not the Hilton or the Marriott. And that's okay. I just needed to change my perspective and base my feedback on my experience with this location. We stopped here on our final leg of the trip between Seattle and Phoenix. After two days on the road, I was ready to be home in my own bed and if I'm honest, was a little bit grumpy. I can't comment on price because the rate is negotiated through his employer, but it was a good rate for us. The exterior is large in a clean, decently sized parking lot. Check-in was nice and easy, and our room was literally right up the lobby stairs. We didn't book a suite this time, so there wasn't a kitchenette, but that's okay. The room was clean and comfortable. There were your basics like bed, couch, coffee table and related apparatus, telly, etc. The only thing missing was a bar of soap. The architecture is modern and there are sensors motion lights. I hope you don't want a long bath in the dark because it shut off on me twice. Also, the bathroom door opens straight into the shower, so there isn't a lot of physical space. At least there's sufficient counter space? I'm kind of tall, so sitting in the tub made me feel like an oversized clown in a tiny circus car. The water takes awhile to get hot, and I had to turn the faucet all the way, but it never seemed to reach the temperature I wanted to relax in after being on the road for so long. The bed was comfortable and came with nice pillows. I slept pretty well, which can be hit or miss in any location away from home. The charging ports had some issues: I needed to perform a balancing act with my charging port while my husband's charging port on his side didn't work at all. Not sure if that was his port or not (the jury is out on that) but the plugs are wobbly, just an fyi. While the hotel isn't glamorous, it is functional. There's a business room downstairs and the hotel provides breakfast. Not a wide selection (egg and pork allergy here), so I ended up with only the coffee, which was pretty good. My husband enjoyed the eggs and ham though, and there are also yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, and... um... .. .. waffle making stuff. Checkout was simple though, and the staff were nice. We had issues with getting a receipt emailed to my husband, but once he reached customer service via the corporate line, he tried a different email, which worked. Overall, this met our basic needs with efficiency, cleanliness, and a place to sleep. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The pictures really speak for themselves but our room was gross and pretty decrepit. I know they are doing some remodeling, but maybe they should focus on one block of rooms at a time. My husband and I stayed in room 101 and the room was damn near falling apart. Cons: There were random picture hanging things all over in the living room and bathroom. No closet door just hinges. Spiderweb over the bed. White stain on the couch. Some sort of grossness on the dresser. The bathroom smelled like old pee. Toilet didn't flush. Weird sound all night like water in pipes or someone using a tile saw. Kicked in place on the door. Selected this hotel due to the "dual bedroom" option. Technically it was only one seperate bedroom, with the other bed being in the living room. Still, it was a very pleasant stay. Although a much older hotel, the rooms were clean and the sheets were soft and fresh. Breakfast was complimentary as well. Don't stay in a room next to the ice machine though. You can hear the noise when people are getting ice, or using the vending machine. Last but not certainly least, the staff up front (Debbie) was extremely nice and helpful. Had to cancel our 1 night stay on our return route home due to a national weather alert along our route and our cancellation was DENIED even though we notified them more than 24 hours in advance. We drive from Colorado to California many times and often stay here one night to break up the 18 hour drive. We normally arrive late and check out early to get back on the road so don't expect a luxury stay but after our last stay (on the first leg of our trip) we were appalled at the conditions of our 2 rooms. They were dirty, bathtub in one room had standing water in it, broken door lock, ripped leather chair, dirty furniture . Completely unacceptable. We will NEVER stay here again, will be booking at the Marriott across the road from now on. read more

The a/c unit does not blow cold air. The toilet does not flush. The beds are rock hard and stiff, very uncomfortable. The pillows have an unclean smell. The dead bolt lock on the door does not work. There is a sloppy paint job where paint from the ceiling is on the walls and remnants of blue masking tape is left behind in areas of the room. But, the room is spacious and clean for the most part. The manager Amy is rude, non social, unapproachable, unfriendly, no people skills, grumpy tone, constant frown, and dismissive. I live in hotels for work purposes as I am constantly traveling. Some comforts and amenities are expected. Rates are high due to limited availability. At these high rates, a better quality of service and stay should be ensured. read more

I have stayed at this hotel in Cedar City in the past, and my experience was generally good; however, my stay in April was one of the worst I have had. We tried to swim in the pool, and it was ice cold, I mean, take your breath away cold. We wanted to enjoy some time in the hot tub. It was hot, but the jets don't work. The worst, though, was getting into the shower and not being able to get hot water. The only water we were able to get was barely lukewarm. I mentioned it to the employee when I checked out, and she kind of just blew me off. I tried to call customer service and because I couldn't find my itinerary number, I got hung up on twice. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, the supervisor said I must have made my reservations through one of the sites like Hotels.com. I made my reservations on the Choice Hotels site because I am a Choice Privileges member, but she couldn't find my reservation. I tried calling the Hotel directly to speak to the manager and left several messages, but I have never received a call back. I really like Choice Hotels, but this has definitely left me questioning whether or not to go back. read more

On top of the fact we had to open the windows and leave for a few hours because it smelled like they (and im not exaggerating) poured a gallon of lysol on the floor right before we walked in, the beds are awful, it was so noicey, and the pillows should have been changed out 1000's of guests ago...we WOKE UP to ANTS everywhere! I went down to check out, told them about the ant problem (should have maybe mentioned everything else, but really it's a cheaper hotel so the rest could have been overlooked) and asked for a refund. The front desk, who said she was the manager, refused to refund staying "I can't give a refund, you stayed in the room and didn't tell us until now." I would recommend staying anywhere but here. Very run down, beds are old and partially uncomfortable depending on the room. Also bring earplugs and face-mask. Light comes in facing certain directions and the walls are thin and everything vibrates through. Employees are very rude and appear to be under the influence. Carpets are stained in the hallway and rooms and the ac and heater units barely work and are loud. This place is so run down and not well maintained. The staff and breakfast service is the only good thing about this place. If you pay almost $200 a night, you expect clean, well-repaired rooms. The upkeep is minimal and what has been repaired looks like a child did it. Paint splatters, black mold around the tub and a giant hole in the bathroom door were just a few eye sores. Amazing hotel! I think I read this was a two star but in my book I would say this is a four star hotel. I was expecting run of the mill roadside hotel but the comfort this place provides goes above and beyond. We have one of the king bed rooms on the first floor. The room is very spacious and has carpet which personally I love to have. The linens are so soft and not that normal thin blanket that other hotels have. Its a nice thick comforter. The bathroom has a tub and hot water and pretty okay water pressure. The best part though: the towels are normal sized! Normally I can't stand hotel towels since they all seem to be the size of a hand towel but not here! Towels fit normal which is a luxury to me. All around this was an amazing place to come and stay. We were stopping here just for a night during our long road trip but I wanted to stay here much longer, that's how at home I felt. read more

Stayed in this place when I went down to AZ. I should probably have given it 4 stars, but....I didn't haha! I say this because....ok, so ima just jump right in. The staff. The lady who checked us in, TOTALLY miserable when we first got there. After I made a few jokes at my own expense, she came around and ended up being nice. Only go to him if you absolutely need to. He is sooooooooo mean! He has zero desire to help the guests that stay there and when and if he has to....BEWARE. I guess there is a reason as to why he is the NIGHT person. Apparently you can't be too honest on here when it comes to customer service people. I did a review last week on an awful TSA person at Orlando airport and Yelp emailed me to tell me they removed it. I'm sorry, but when it comes to my reviews, I have to be honest. It's incredibly difficult for me not to be. So when it comes to people like TSA agent Sprinkle and this guy, Brian, I want my readers to have a fair enough warning about what they are about to deal with, IF they happen to come across folks like Brian and Sprinkle I leave it at that, about that mean dude at night. Following morning, checkout time, the girl up front was soooooo nice and so accommodating. You can tell she's a morning person haha! Very sweet human. The room. The room was very spacious, super clean, beds were amazing, pillows were perfect and bathroom was very clean. The knobs on the sink were corroded, but that's just me nitpicking lol. All in all, it wasn't a bad place. The hotel itself was very nice. They allow pets! That's ALWAYS a HUUUUUUGE plus for me AND this particular hotel has a small dog park out front. Well they're doing renovations so the entrance to the lobby has boxes stacked high to the ceiling off to one side. I haven't went here in years, so I didn't realize they changed the orientation of the building and driveway etc. It looks great on the outside and the new decor inside is nice too. It does look like they reused doors and maybe even windows, certainly the beds!? Our room faced North west fortunately but I noticed the window was broken because someone tried to open it. I don't understand why they made the window look like it could open, with a screen too, if you can't actually do it. Anyway, we didn't call ahead or book online, and got a good deal w my AAA for under $90 for a king bed. AC. And fridge were loud in the room and fridge barely kept anything cold. Water pressure for the shower was great. Ice machine did not work on third floor. Breakfast goes from 6:30-9:30!, and was waffles, scrambled eggs and link sausage, plus white bread, muffins, Dannon yogurt, apples and a few juices and coffee/tea. They did have coffee out until around 8pm downstairs. We didn't have the time to try the pool or exercise room, but saw that the "gym" was a set of free weights, a treadmill and a stationary bike. Noise from the freeway but they never noise proof rooms enough. Fair enough to stay again. And an extra bonus, all rooms are non smoking so the rooms and linens smell fresh. read more

We booked this hotel because their website said they had a handicap accessible pool and hot tub. My husband is paraplegic and we wanted to swim but when we went to use the lifts they wouldn't work. After lots of investigating with a staff member we figured out both lifts weren't charged. She had to get additional help and we were told it would take four hours for a full charge. When I spoke to the employees about making sure to keep them charged if they were going to advertise having them one of the staff members told me "I've been here 10 years and used the lifts twice, it's not common". read more

The sign says that everyone's supposed to be out of the pool by 10PM. A few stragglers are slowly wrapping things up at 10:15 and no one's scolding them or hustling them out. We're the last group in the breakfast room and they've locked one of the doors but when a hungry Dad and his little guy come by 15 minutes late they let them in the side door and let 'em grab a little breakfast. Prior to booking online, we attempted to call various hotels in the area and all lines were busy, even after calling multiple times. Since we could not get in contact with any hotel, we had to book online. However, we would not be in until after midnight, thus why we wanted to call the hotel to see if they will have someone up front to check in. We took a chance and attempted a booking, and in the comment section of the booking, we had made aware that we would not be in until after midnight, on the contrary, the site said that comments will be reviewed at check-in... So really we drove up 2 hours not knowing if we would get a room or not. Ryan, the host at check-in, was not the friendliest. He was straight to the point, didn't ask nicely for our cards, or say thank you, never smiled. Compared to the young lady who helped us in the morning, she was all in for helping us discover hiking spots, outgoing personality. The lobby was also a beautiful area, including a fireplace. The room was spacious with nice crisp AC. Microwave, fridge, and tv were all convenient. Unfortunately, the desk chair did have noticable tears missing from the cushion: the bathroom door opens straight into the toilet (which I almost ran into); I felt that the bathroom could've been designed a little better, as you would hit someone who is using the toilet, or you have to close the door all the way to access the shower. Also, there should be more than 1 bottle for each toiletry, especially in a room with double beds, were you may have multiple guests. Breakfast wasn't much but it was nice! Stayed for a quick overnight and booked same day, online. No problems with the reservation and the person at the desk was very friendly. I found the parking lot clean and the exterior of the building was well kept. I had a room an upper floor and elevator access was easy. My room was at the end of the hall near a conference room. When checking into my room, one of the room keys would not open the door but the 2nd did. I found my room to be clean and well kept. The bathroom was well stocked and the bed had plenty of pillows. The room had a fridge and microwave. The television was a larger, flat screen and there were plenty of channels to choose from. The bed was comfortable and I slept okay. The walls seem pretty thin as I heard kids playing and yelling who were at the pool. The room doors would also slam when people staying would enter or exit their room. I could hear the television from the room next to us as well. If others flushed their toilets or took a shower, you could hear the water running. Also, those going into and out of the conference room would talk in the hallway right outside my door. If you're a light sleeper or an early to bed, this might be somewhat of an issue. I turned on the fan and having it run helped mask some of the hallway noise. The breakfast was good and it was your typical breakfast bar of food, both cold and hot. All-in-all, it was a great deal for the price (off-season). Other than the noise, I was totally pleased with my stay. Ample parking, a small dog area outside, clean hotel and well kept. Booked this motel for a week. It's trashed. Closet door is falling off the hinges, no working smoke alarm. Discarded cigar and strawberries on the floor . No stopper in the sink. Second suite room was the same with trash on the floor. Chair was split and foam was showing. Workout room had dirty towels and had not been cleaned for a while. Hallways had plaster on the floors and a drain snake laying for 2 days. The manager said the hotel was being remodeled but no sign of construction in the parking lots. read more

I had the worst experience at this location. I have a Tesla and needed to use their charging station for our four day stay at the Marriott across the street. I called before our trip and asked about their use policy and the front desk person told me over the phone that it was 10 dollars. We asked if we needed to come back each day to pay the 10 dollars for each day and he said that we can use it for as long as you want. After a couple days, I saw a passive aggressive letter on my car saying that I've been illegally using their stations and that my license plates are on camera. I then went in to explain the confusion and to pay for what I used. From the start of the conversation, the lady was extremely rude. I then payed and told her that they should explain the policy to all of their employees correctly as we were informed with incorrect information. I also asked her why she was being so cold to us and she said that my girlfriend and I were yelling even though we were calm the entire time. There's plenty of hotels in Cedar City and I highly suggest you don't give this place your business. I stayed Saturday night and while there I decided to pay for Sunday as well so I could leave later. I was quoted a Sunday price which was about 35$ cheaper than Saturday night and I agreed. I find they charged me same both nights so I called three times. The woman that claimed to be the manager was rude and condescending saying they don't offer the rate I was quoted the previous evening. She said she'd talk to that employee and return my call. I call three consecutive days and nobody would reply. At this point it wasn't about the measly few dollars.. it was how I was treated by several employees. I was even yelled at by a man working in the middle of the night because I was looking for a vending machine and wandering around downstairs. Everyone in Cedar City last weekend were very friendly and courteous.. that is til I dealt with this company. There are many hotels right off the freeway there please do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other establishments. read more

At first checking in the Lady at the front desk seemed unhappy, after being super nice and polite she came around and seemed to lighten up. There were signs on the door reinstating the noise policy which I thought was strange. Come to find out there must have been school sports teams staying here for the night. YES... they were noisy. Stomping on the floors, doors slamming, it sounded like a heard of elephants upstairs until about midnight. Giving four stars because the hotel itself was clean and a nice stay. Not to far from restaurants. The noise wasn't their fault and they did try to contain it by posting the posters. read more

It's a Comfort Inn. We've stayed here a few times on road trips..it has all of the usual necessities: it's pretty new, so most everything is functional. It's pretty clean. It's right next to the freeway. Parking is decent, especially as we were pulling a trailer and needed room for it. However, it's still a Comfort Inn. A safe and clean place to sleep, and not much else. I did notice, as we left, that a Holiday Inn Express has just been built nearby. If you are a road trip..it's worth noting that hotels in Cedar City tend to fill up fast at the end of a day. Plan accordingly. read more

This must have been pretty good as I don't have any real distinct memories of it. I stayed one night a couple months ago and it seemed a pretty standard good Comfort Inn with no negative surprises. I do remember that they had a nice little snack bag upon check-in for Choice Platinum & Diamond guests. It's also a bit toward the southern edge of town with little around it, so it's very quiet but all the dining options are also a long walk up the street. read more

When you're traveling with a dog, your hotel options are a bit more limited. Thankfully, Comfort Inn and Suites graciously accepts four legged guests. They even have a nice little grassy area for them to walk a bit and do what they need to do. We've stayed here a number of times and always find our room and the premises in general to be very clean and comfortable. As with most hotel chains, your bed is filled with about 25 different pillows (maybe, a slight exaggeration) so you can choose whether you prefer hard, soft, flat, fluffy....whatever. The breakfast is standard. If you want really fresh made to order eggs, best find a good restaurant in the area but if you just need some decent foods to tide you over as you head down the road, the provided breakfast is good. As with the rest of the establishment, the dining area is clean and well-maintained. read more
