Easy check in, clean rooms, always great beds with BW. Two queen beds had a large bathroom with separate vanity and sink. Makes for a great dresser. Microwave and large fridge. First of all , I would like to start by saying that a review is not always based on the aesthetics , location or ambiance in a hotel. It is the people who guests encounter during their stay , phone conversations while booking or who are calling due to different concerns., most especially the management who handles customer service. I should have rated it below 1 start because I never had the chance to stay anyhow. I booked a 2 night stay June 13- 15, 2026 for my niece Audrey, who was not able to check-in due a delayed flight. She therefore checked in on the second day , only to be declined to stay in a reserved and paid accommodation . Staff confirmed that there was never a cancellation and it was fully paid. They said nothing except that they did not know what actually happened, I was promised a call from the manager who never did. I therefore did my part by demanding to speak to the manager who upon speaking to him, also promised to investigate the issue and promised to call back. Unfortunately to this time, (July 3) I never received any call from him. read more

It's a great place to stay however lots of noise. I felt, there wear squeaking noises from the refrigerator all night. At least breakfast is provided and nice outdoor sitting area for breakfast. 2.5 stars. It probably varies a little depending on the time of year and which room you get. Service was friendly but inconsistent. On the first night, there was no soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower so we had to request them. After the first night, they forgot to leave clean towels, so we had to request them. We came for a Gilroy Gardens weekend and stayed on the 2nd floor. You could definitely hear the person upstairs walking around and the fridge in the room was handy, but it would kick in a few times a night and make loud humming sounds. Around 1and 2AM for two nights I randomly hear someone having a full conversation or families returning to their room (I hope). I could hear the conversations almost word for word, which tells you how little sound insulation there is. I think it would help if they posted signs for quiet hours and to remind people that other guests may be sleeping after 10PM. The bed was pretty soft, so my back hurt after the trip. Overall, I couldn't get a good nights sleep. Coffee machine in the lobby looked really dirty and couldn't do any dairy options. We only stayed for 1 night and paid roughly $140 for a family of 4. Employees were amazing and helpful. Our room was clean and big enough for our family size (2 queen sized beds). They have a 4-ft pool and a jacuzzi. Pool can definitely be cleaned more often though, but it's only because of flowers and feathers (?) constantly falling in. They also had complimentary sit down breakfast offered with our stay. Definitely will come back here next time! read more

So I have come here a lot. I'm not sure why this got 3 stars. Usually 4 times in a year. Very friendly staff. Every time I come here, I'm always greeted by the front desk. We became friends right away. It's good because whenever I get homesick I can lean on someone. I love the rooms and a lot of shows to watch. The beds are comfortable and the room is what you would expect from a best western.It's always a plus when you get free WiFi. Also nice that there are times when I bring my dog. Very dog friendly. There's also free breakfast. Which can be really nice. Free coffee, juice, tea, and water. You can make waffles. So many choices to choose from. I also like it because they have a lot of options to put on your waffles and eggs. A lot of options to eat. Also a bonus is the outlets that are close by if you need some retail therapy. Gross and so loud! I waited so long for a call back and didn't get one until 4 days later. It's the worse trying to unload your babies and put them to bed in a dirty hotel room. $300 for what?! Not to mention ALL the alarms in the room were set to 5am. The door outside our door was slamming the entire night. There's no privacy. Do not stay here!!! There are so many hotels who will call you back and be helpful if you've had a bad stay. They offered me 50 points after 4 days of waiting on a call back.. Best Western Plus? I'd hate to see a Best Western that wasn't a Plus. Seriously, save your time and skip my review if you want; just look at my photos. There was some weird thing going on with the plumbing in our room. I don't know if the 'residue' in our bathroom sink was fecal matter, coffee grounds or metal flakes. At random intervals, water and residue would just bubble up from the sink. The sink would be empty, and a half hour later, it would have 3-4 inches of water in it, with 'stuff' floating in it. Please see my photos. I wasn't comfortable shaving in that sink. There was a ceiling fan. Nice touch. But wait... it didn't work. After trying every light switch, I realized there wasn't a chain to pull to turn it on or adjust the speed. When I called the Front Desk, they said a technician would come by. After waiting 20 minutes (we were about to leave for dinner), I called back to ask them to cancel the technician visit. Three minutes later, the technician showed up. He didn't speak a word of English. But he was able to gesture to the ceiling fan to indicate 'no chain.' Great. He confirmed what we already knew. The desk lamp didn't work. And the pillows were like rocks. Another review that I read seemed to be excited about the balcony. That was neat. Until the people above us checked in. They were obviously smokers - all night long they were going out onto the balcony. We knew this because the sliding glass doors to the balconies have obviously never been oiled. Each time they opened and closed their sliding door to the balcony, it sounded like someone was trying to move a refrigerator. Thanks, smokers! Never again! The coffee and juice isn't weak or watered down. And I know lots of people have come across those places. The dining area is very clean and organized. We recently stayed at the Forest Inn. We were very disappointed to find how unclean the room was. In fact, we went to put water in the coffee machine and found mold, eye lashes and hair in the water area. During a pandemic, cleaning should be a priority. I don't have any complaints. We got in on a Wednesday night for a little over $100 I believe. They're priced pretty fairly for what they're offering. Clean room, nice bathroom, keurig coffee machine, mini fridge and microwave are all included. All rooms have balcony's which is nice. And the biggest convenience of it all was the large spacious parking lot! We were able to park our big uhaul and truck no problem, super convenient. read more

The manager had towel swans placed on our bed along with a little gift waiting for us and card. We had a beautiful fireplace in our room. Its an old best western. But it has good prices - was clean comfortable enough beds - and family rooms that can sleep 6+. The family rooms have 6 beds - one with a private half bath and a door (whoo hoo!!) So it checks all of our boxes. The "buffet" breakfast is barebones- but food is food and my kids arent picky. The staff were friendly and accommodating. All and All - its 3 stars because its for sure not worth 5 but its a best western - so I wasnt expecting 5 stars. Oh- the pool was perfect for kids and familys with depths 3ft-4ft. And it was heated - which made it perfect for morning swimming despite the chilly weather. Also - this is Gilroy- known for garlic - even if you love garlic the smell can be a bit much. Despite the bad reviews, we booked a two night stay at BW. First of all I can tell you there were no bed bugs so that issue was taken care of. We stayed on the third floor (yep the highest floor available) and it was quiet. We didn't hear anything from our neighbors or outside. They installed new mattresses because they are firmer and not lumpy. They also changed out the bed linen (see pic) and the carpet in the hallway is new. The bathroom was also updated. Staff is pleasant. I wish they brought back the waffle machine. The pancake machine was meh. All in all we would consider staying here again. read more

Only reason I am giving them 2 stars is bc the front desk & cleaning women were very nice. Other than that I do not recommend this place AT ALL! Checking in was fairly easy. No issues, but as soon as we got to our room that's when all the drama happened. Let me list all the issues we had from start to finish. 1. We got into our 1st room (I say 1st bc I had to request for another room & you will read why) it had a smell to it. Like Pine Sol cleaner & something smelly. I thought maybe it was just the smell if a dirty mop bc half the room is wood floor & the other half carpet. So overall the room smelled. Whatever opened the sliding door & figured to let it air out. 2. Sitting on the bed I felt something poking me. It was a toothpick from I'm assuming the previous guest. Disgusting. 3. This is where it totally went downhill - I had to use the bathroom. Realized there was a leak from the toilet. Water all over the floor. Called front desk & they were going to send someone. I still had to use the bathroom & the door doesn't lock. I told my husband to let the maintenance person know there was someone in the bathroom. Maintenance came. Even from the bathroom I hear my husband tell the maintenance man someone is in the bathroom. Idk if he didn't hear or ignore him but he tried to open the door & my husband had already gotten up bc he realized the maintenance man was still going to try to open the door, so my husband was there to close the door right away as I was sitting on the toilet. My husband was quite upset & told the guy "I told you 3 times someone is in there!" The maintenance man said in spanish (I also don't think the maintenance man knew my husband speaks spanish) "I didn't know she was taking a shit." Out of pocket comment. 4. After that whole issue I was trying to flush the toilet & couldn't flush it. I figured maybe the chain unhooked from the tank. So I walked outside of the bathroom to tell my husband. The maintenance man stepped out so my husband figured he can at least fix the chain. He opened the cover to the tank & there was literally a piece of turd in the water tank! It was blocking the cover from the tank whole preventing the water to collect. After that I called the front desk to give us another room. 5. The maintenance man came back & my husband showed him the turd in the tank. He puts on gloves to take it out & get this, after he leaves he still has the gloves on & touches the door knob as he is walking out! My husband goes to the front desk to get our new room keys & to also let them know about the very rude maintenance person. 6. There are also random people with their cars parked in the parking lot just chilling in their cars. Idk if they were guests but they just hung out there. Kind of sketchy if you ask me. Only reason we stayed here is bc it was part of my wedding package from Wedgewood & I totally regret staying here. It's completely disgusting. If you get room 137, ask for a different room bc that was the room with the turd in the water tank. read more

I had a last minute overnight stay in Gilroy and decided to hit the Nike outlet the next morning (Saturday). I checked Priceline.com and saw I could get a room for $99 vs $130-150 for other nearby hotels. I decided to give them a try. Pros: the room was immaculate, free wi-if, Direct TV so we got over 700 channels to choose from, free continental breakfast, fitness room with cardio equipment, swimming pool, right next door to Black Bear Diner and just down the street from the gilroy outlets Cons: very thin walls (heard a dad yelling at his kids 1-2 rooms down at 7 am and during the evening we had kids running, screaming and slamming doors even at 10:00 pm), our bathroom smelled like smoke (we were on the 3rd floor). Wifi is shotty in the morning (had no connection for about 30-40 min). It's worth the money if you can ignore the nuisances of thin walls. For the price, you can't beat it. Being from the area and then coming here to stay, was such a great reminder of what I miss most about this town, which is the people. The front desk associate has been wonderful. She is just super kind and friendly. And even when I witnessed other guests trying to come in, and sort of exploit their situation For gains, she just was incredibly kind with them so far I've had a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean. There's activities for the kids and it's overall a very peaceful environment. I believe this is going to be my go to spot every time we come to visit now. When we initially arrived wanted to kick off our shoes and relax in the room... which wasn't really an option with the state of the floors. Seeing chickens outside the entrance and being woken up by roosters was interesting. So was the staff banging on the door shortly after 8am to come clean the room every morning. Nothing like having to repeatedly having to get up and the staff to stop banging on the door every few minutes and to just let us rest. This happened on the last day of our stay as well. Checkout was at 11am but staff doesn't care as they bang away at the door to clean up the room shortly after 8am. Considering one of my kids started feeling ill on the trip and I was hoping to let them sleep in a bit in the morning, that thought went away pretty damn quick. Haven't stayed at any other hotel in Gilroy before, but I'm sure any of them will be better than this place. read more

3/9/2019 Saturday This place has always been a special place to me. Before my son developed a fear of getting in the car , I used to take him to Gilroy Garden all the time and we used to stay here. Those were the days he had no problem staying at hotels, getting in the elevator, riding in the car .. .. He's had so much fun at the heated pool and the hot tub. We must've stayed here at least dozen times.. He's autistic and his fear of getting in the elevator first developed a few years ago, then going inside any buildings includes hotels , stores, restaurants, people's house developed , then now he won't get in the car. Anyways I got sidetracked but about the hotel. This hotel has always accommodated for my special needs son. Back then , not every hotel room came with the microwave and the fridge but they would provide for us. Since my son only eats a very few things in life. I used to carry my rice cooker with me whenever we stayed at hotel lol. He only eats certain kind of chicken nuggets so I needed a microwave and the freezer and they provided us with no extra charge. Nowadays, seems almost every hotel room comes with those amenities. Beds are very comfortable and pillows nice and soft. Spacious counter space for my hair and makeup stuff. I like the bathroom counter is separate from the tub / shower and the toilet. This hotel is not a luxury Rits Carlton but comfortable , clean , safe and family friendly. Heated pool and the hot tub are cozy on their sizes but again perfect for small kids. They have a shallow area at the end of the pool and my son loved sitting there and playing when he was a baby. The hotel is right next to Black Bear Diner, there is seven eleven and Valero gas station across the street, a few minutes drive to the outlet and 10-15 minutes to the Gilroy Garden. Convenient location. Free parking, free wifi and free breakfast. Reasonable price. Ok I'm starting to sound like a spokesperson for the hotel lol. Hotel was def. Overpriced but we always generally stay at best westerns so decided to stay there. Dog fee of 40 Dollars a night for two small dogs (esa dogs at that but they don't count as service dogs so fee applies to both of them) We came to gilroy on a Thursday so that we can get some sun and hang out at their pool. Our dogs were with us at and were sitting underneath at the tables around the pool as while we hung out in the pool Friday morning and no one else was there. They were quiet and just sunbathing on the concrete. A few employees saw us and even let us in the pool since our key card was not working. (Had a lot of issues since the key card didn't work often) 20 minutes later someone came in and says no dogs allowed. I understand inside at the breakfast or at the gym inside but we were outside and no one else was around while they sat away from the outdoor pool underneath a table. We have stayed at 100's of best westerns and Never ever had a issue like this before and never had to pay a fee for our dogs as we have a letter stating we need them to help up sleep. Nor did we ever have any other hotel question and ask what our dog does for us and whats wrong with us. Employees were pleasant and never disrespectful but at almost 200 a night on a weekday in gilroy is def not worth it. The tub overflowed along with the bathroom sink and we can literally hear every single footstep of Everyone in the room above us. Only best western we would never stay again. read more

Our room at the Forest Park Best Western was accommodating, but with 20/20 hindsight, I feel that they "played" us with the, "we only have a King with a fireplace left for $189.00! This was a large (3 stories) Best Western and there must have been at least 200+ rooms. Looking at the parking lot...trust me, not all the rooms were taken !! And for almost $200 a night, you'd think we'd get actual cups for coffee...not paper cups. Oh well, live and learn. read more

Upon arrival, there were people on drugs coming in and out of hotel, does not feel safe. The floors have not been cleaned in I don't know how long. Food, dust and spider webs on floor on pillow side of bed , my kids feet were black from walking. The remote was so gross I had to wipe it down. The hotel staff put us right at the entrance and we can Hear EVERYTHING! The beds are so hard and uncomfortable. We walked to black bear diner and it was just as dirty. Very happy with my stay. I usually stay here every other week for the great wifi and cable also the AC. My family loves it here even though the pool is closed. The rooms are huge and the refrigerator works great with the little freezer. The maid service is different here now btw. They do not come clean your room or make your bed anymore until after you check out. Hmmm...make my own bed and take out my own trash.... definitely different. The reason I gave 4stars is because of that and the toilet didn't really flush right the whole time we were here. It has been a problem in two different rooms that we've stayed at here sadly. We always ask for bottom floor and the front desk always obliged us. The continental breakfast is hot or cold. The breakfast sandwich is pretty good. We have been staying here 4-5 times a year for the past 4 years. Never had any complaints. My mother-in-law was passing away in the hospital, we spent a week here. Changed our original reservation from a King to two Queens so that our sister could stay w/us. No problem. Spent at least $1000.00 here that week. Since we spent so much money here, we got a book early deal. I booked the two nights for my mother-in-laws upcoming funeral. Our daughter decided to come w/us so we asked to change our room from a King to two Queens. Nope, sorry, you are locked in because you got a promotional rate. Sorry, not sorry. So we are crammed in this small room and our daughter is sleeping in a chair, while there are probably 100 empty rooms at this hotel right now. I hate writing this review. There are so many great things about this place. Unfortunately having stayed there numerous times over the last year, there have been some consistent problems with one specific staff member- Sandy, who seems to have authority and a general disregard for customer service. She is a big fan of eye rolling, lecturing, taking over for the friendly people who try to help, and demonstrating what a bitter person in customer service acts like. Before helping, I emailed the hotel manager and shared my experiences. Alas, after a week I have had no response. I am posting the full email I sent in the photos. If I could give negative starts I would. We drove 6hrs to get to this hotel we arrived at 1am everything was good until my daughters and I started itching all over just to flip the sheets and there was bugs all over the bed. Bed Bugs the beds were so disgusting filled with stains. We had to leave at 3am with an infant and two kids in the cold we had to pack all our belongings in plastic bag to avoid contaminating our vehicle.very disappointed given the fact that we are so far from home with three kids out in the cold with no belongings because all our clothes and luggage are now contaminated. We asked for a refund and to speak with the manager but only the front desk staff was available we were told the manager would contact us. But nothing yet . It's been days now the manager Said he would call me yet no call. He keeps avoiding me every Time i call the hotel front desk answer with the worst attitude they say the manager is not in. I guess there's no manager ever in the hotel and the hotels is being run just by front desk.Worst customer service don't come to this hotel avoid it at all coast unless you want to bring bugs home or get bit by bedbugs. They say they have mattress covers on all their beds Yet they still have bugs on their mattresses. The mattress are disgusting stained our room wasn't cleaned. It's been a great experience staying here. The room is very nice with several amenities such as a fridge, microwave, good size TV w/ direct TV cable and a balcony to sit on. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a king size room and needed a roll away for our daughter. They quickly got one set up and to the room. Staff was friendly but the plus forest park threw me. Stayed here for the weekend of Oct 15-17 for NorCal Renaissance Faire and had 2 queen beds on the 3rd floor. We paid a total of $388.38. Felt reasonable given what I've paid for lower quality hotels in other Cali cities. The room was spotless, beds super comfy, shower was great, staff super personable, continental breakfast was okay. I didn't know the rooms have balconies until I got there, so that was a nice surprise. No complaints! Would definitely stay here again. On our way to the hotel, we stopped in Salinas for dinner. Stayed June 24-26. Reserved a 2queen room. When checking in was told I reserved a 1 king room and it was my mistake. Once I showed my email confirmation for 2 queens they fixed it and gave me a room. The room was ok, nothing special. The coffee maker in the room did not work, all of the outlets except one either did not work or were so loose plugs would fall out. Light switches had broken plastic. Room was clean which was a plus. The ice maker on the floor was not working. The free breakfast was ok... One suggestion- keep the koi pond at the lobby entrance clean. Trash in the water as you are walking in doesn't set a great tone. Do better read more
