Jenny made fried eggs and scrambled eggs.

I love this hotel!! I never want to leave. I recently moved to this area and I'm awaiting to take possession of my new home. So, I researched all the hotels in Kalamazoo and wanted to stay in one that had a hot tub, a pool that was heated, served breakfast everyday. Boy, I feel like I hit the jackpot here. They even have a laundry facility. Sweet!! I checked in on a Monday and checking was very easy. I had made a 3-day reservation and then once I got here I extended it four more days. It's wheelchair accessible and there's an elevator. They gave me a beautiful room on the third floor. My room's a little far from the elevator but I can use the exercise and the stairs seem to be very easy to get up and down. They're not too tall and steep. And the landings are long enough so you can catch your breath. My room was nice and clean and spacious. My little refrigerator is missing a leg so it's kind of wobbly every time I open it. But that's okay. It still works and it was clean. All the bedding, including the top blanket, was clean and it smelled clean and it felt clean. I pulled the sheets back and the mattresses were clean very clean too. Monday, my first day, I got right in the hot tub and the pool 20 minutes after I arrived. I had the whole pool area to myself. It was clean and it had towels for my use. The pool was indeed heated and it was so nice and comfortable. There was a sheet of paper in the room that said you could order room service. Come to find out it was from a local Chinese restaurant. The food was really good. I wasn't able to pull up the QR code on my phone so they went over the menu with me on the phone. Unfortunately, they forgot my soup but the food was really good. And to me it was worth the money. Tuesday, I woke up really rested because I slept great. I didn't hear any noise in the hallways or above me. I went down and had a wonderful breakfast of biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs and sausage. Then I went swimming and got in the hot tub again. I went to work and came back and was so happy to be pulling into this driveway I almost cried. I walked into my room and it was so nice and clean. Today is Wednesday and I'm sitting in the hot tub, drinking a cup of decaf coffee from the breakfast area. Today they're serving what I posted in the pictures. Fried and scrambled eggs. Sausage patties and potatoes. I highly recommend this place because the employees are so kind and thoughtful. I walked into the breakfast area this morning to get a cup of decaf to drink while I sat in the hot tub, and Jenny, the employee who made the beautiful breakfast this morning, came into the pool area and asked me if everything was okay. She saw that I looked at the food and just came in here. I told her the food looked wonderful and I was going to eat after my morning swim. Wasn't that so sweet? Coming to check on me? That was so sweet and so are all the other employees. They are very kind and conscientious of their guests. And the GM was really super cool too. I highly recommend this place.

    Pee and dust

The dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. You can tell they don't clean between stays. Dead bugs all over the floor, food spots in the microwave and a CRAZY amount of dust. The list goes on... I've never felt un-clean while staying at hotel until I stayed here.

Lovely brown bubbles in our jacuzzi tub as soon as we turned on the jets YUM

Run screaming in the other direction. I am deadly serious. I want to give this hotel zero stars but unfortunately cannot. This was hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. My BF and I were driving back to Toronto this evening and needed a place to stay as we were too exhausted to continue driving home. We stumbled upon this hotel and decided to check in. Our first warning signal should have been that the gentleman working answered the door in his socks, no shoes on. Secondly the sole elevator in the building was not in service, having broken down this weekend. Nevertheless we were so tired that we handed over our credit card to secure the room. The clerk even stated he would upgrade us to the jacuzzi suite - great! From the first minute we entered the room, there was an unpleasant musty smell. Whatever, I tried to ignore it. The room was very dated and not overly clean as well from initial inspection, I also chose to overlook this. Looking on the bright side, I decided to draw a bath in the jacuzzi tub and add some shampoo for bubble ambiance. I turned on the jets and was disgusted to see that the water had turned brown while the water had been circulating in the jacuzzi. We were totally grossed out but decided to chalk it up to the fact that perhaps it hadn't been used in a while? The final straw however was when I broke out into a itchy rash having laid in the bed for approximately 5 minutes. My forearms are covered in what appears to be tiny bites. We pulled back the covers to reveal stains and hairs on the "clean" bedsheets. When we let the front desk know we wanted a refund and would be leaving immediately, a room two doors down was offered (with minimal apologies). This one was just as bad when we reluctantly checked it out and at this point we just wanted to escape this hellhole. We were told that he could not issue a refund, we would have to speak to his manager later today (it's currently 4:41am now and I am still awake writing this review). We ended up at the Microtel approx 2 miles away and I feel much better after taking a very hot shower and washing my clothing in their complimentary laundry facility. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT CHECK IN TO THIS ABSOLUTE DUMP!!

Great jacuzzi and great rooms pools a bit too short would be better if 11 feet but other than that I rate it a 3.4/5 stars

This place is very dirty. My room was dirty, the sheets look like they didn't change them, hair all over the pillows. Smells like weed.

Overall, very nice hotel. I stayed there for one night (last night) on business…read more Pros: -Easy check-in -Huge room, as I'm accustomed to with the Home2Suites brand. Separate galley kitchenette with almost-full-size fridge and freezer, plus sink, microwave, and, to my surprise, a dishwasher -Great location in downtown Kzoo -Very comfy bed -Free breakfast, although I did not partake because my conference offered breakfast. Cons: -This is a "co-located" hotel with the Hilton Garden Inn - the entrance off Rose St. is the Garden Inn entrance, if you're looking for Home2Suites, they will direct you to keep walking past the pool and exercise areas and then you will find the H2S lobby. -Parking. Technically no on-site parking. There is a garage directly across the street, and you can choose to either pay by the hour or pay H2S $20 for the night. The $20 gets you in and out privileges so I chose to do that. If you do that, you have to scan your card when you get out of the garage, I was warned that sometimes it doesn't work and sure enough it did not work yesterday, so I pressed the help button and they asked for my room number and then let me out. Same deal this morning too. Your room keycard will work for parking access until noon on day of checkout though, I was told. ----I only had a backpack for my one night stay but if you had a lot of luggage I could see this being annoying. The parking structure does have an elevator though or you could have someone drop you off with your luggage in front of the hotel and then they could park. As other reviews have mentioned, to use the 2nd floor skywalk you do need a hotel keycard, so when I checked in this week I walked down to the street level and walked over to the hotel that way. ----If you are looking to use the skywalk when you're in the hotel, you have to get to the first floor of H2S, walk to the Garden Inn lobby, then take the elevator or stairs to the second floor to access it. I tried to go to the second floor of H2S to access it and then realized my mistake, lol. Oops. -Pool is currently closed as of this review (March 2025). It's pretty small anyways though and I wasn't looking to swim this trip. Exercise room did look nice. Overall, however, this was a comfortable stay for me, and I would return. My room was $160 for the night and I believe that was with a Hilton Honors discount. The Garden Inn was pricier than that for the night (a Tuesday night) and usually the rooms are smaller which is why I chose H2S.

We went for Kalamazoo College reunion, and it would have been doable to walk to campus, but we drove since we were running late. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and have kitchenette's. There's a decent indoor heated pool, and a cute outdoor patio. The free continental breakfast is decent, and they did a great job refilling items and keeping things fresh. The hotel entrance is confusing and hard to find. I drove around the block trying to figure it out, and then walked to a couple doors that were wrong before walking right past the entrance and noticed it because the doors automatically opened. I was happy with our stay. I was just surprised it was $300 per night with taxes and fees. At that price it just wasn't a particularly good value. (Not including parking which is $20 per night, but since we were there over the weekend there was enough street parking which was free outside of business hours).

Doing local contractor work, I am not in the hotel much at all, and I have to pay my own travel expenses: so, can't think of anything that could meet my needs better. Again: cute, clean and comfortable! the shower water is hot and the water pressure is strong. The beds are supportive, quiet and comfortable. Lots of fluffy pillows. Soft linens. Uber Eats service availability was hit or miss in this area for summer 2025 at night but during the day I had no issues getting food delivered and brought right to my door. Uber rideshare coming from the airport at night to this location took a while but was available. I would probably bring a car or recommend renting one if you are getting in after dark like I was just to avoid waits. All the staff I interacted with were very pleasant and helpful to myself and other guests during my 2 night stay. Ashley (or Ashlyn, forgive me as I am a little hard of hearing sometimes) was so helpful in making local recommendations when I had questions about specific needs as well. Everyone was very attentive when guests including myself needed anything. The room I stayed in, 130, was very comfortable and it was perfect because it was towards the back right near the back exit. Convenient so you don't have to walk thru the lobby again just to get outside. I didn't bring a car, but it looked like free/self serve parking and there was tons of available parking around. Everything about the room was great for the most part. However, the shower hose in the accessible bathroom for some reason was not linked with the main connection, so I was not able to use the attachment. I love and prefer to use handheld shower hose attachments when available, so I was sad it was not working. I'm sure I could've called over to the front desk to see about using it but having gotten in after 1am and only being there for 2 nights, it was not a big deal at all. The tub still worked great, so I was able to soak in that which was a luxury for me. The floors were very clean in my room which I cannot say about some other establishments I've been in. They didn't turn my feet black lol. Much appreciated there. The blackout curtain was nice to be able to have but lots of natural light available too with the thinner drape. There was no microwave in the room sadly, but I did hear one in the lobby later, I'm guessing near the snacks market to the left of the front desk. I was able to make ramen in my room with the coffee maker and coffee as well so that was fine. Hot food options for purchase at the little Bistro in the lobby are limited on weekends unfortunately so I was not able to grab a hot breakfast on Sunday. They had grab and go items like yogurt and granola for purchase as well as fruit and some pastries. I didn't see what snacks were available in the little market stand by the front desk. Lots of complimentary coffee and tea and water in the lobby which was nice. The fitness room and laundry room were open and people were utilizing both during my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the heated indoor pool which I had to myself at 6am and hot tub. The customer using the hot tub after me inquired about the jets being turned on. I don't know if they were able to be turned on or not (thinking they weren't), but at least the temperature in the hot tub was just right. The AC in my room was cold and crisp, perfect for the hot summer days we've had. The mini fridge and extra wardrobe space was convenient to have. There was a good size desk set in the room and a very comfy looking chair and foot rest inside which I didn't get to utilize but was handy for my luggage setup. My two night stay was overall quiet, the first night almost eerily quiet lol. Then the second night/day was pretty loud at select points. I think some kids were running around the halls and then the housekeeping cart for some reason was extremely loud and seemed to shake the floor at different times. Other than those things there were no disturbances. Much better than any motel or extended stay noises, I know that lol. Overall, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kalamazoo for a quick trip. Check in and out was extremely easy and it was a comfortable stay. I would recommend it to be close to the airport and everything Kalamazoo and Portage has to offer. I'll be back!
